  1. The officer concentrated on my bank book and the banker's guarantor, after that, she stamped on my passport and everything is done !

suprising is having it approved without the 'under consideration...' stamp first.

She did tell me however, that I am not allowed to withdraw the funds in my account for the entire year.

this is not true, your funds are proof of support of a thai and certainly can be spent...and then topped off next year.

  2. after testing i see the problem maybe the actual random album image block can not display thumbnails larger than 100 x 100 pixels. this is because that block tries to pull and display everything.

I can't find any setting to control the size of thumbnails. All I see is the setting to control the width of the content blocks, which has a minimum of 150 pixels.

i just created a new blog and the content block width defaults to 250 pixels. random images display as thumbnails ok on this end. what is yours currently set to ?

  3. OK, I think I've figured it out. Jai Dee's blog and mine both have a lot of images embedded in the text, whereas Glauka's doesn't. There must be some limit somewhere that prevents the random image coming up if there are a lot of graphics already displayed. This may be why I did see the random image when I first started the blog.

i think you are right about a limitation.

after testing i see the problem maybe the actual random album image block can not display thumbnails larger than 100 x 100 pixels. this is because that block tries to pull and display everything.

if you notice Glauka has his random images opening ok because they are smaller than 100 x 100. below he has in his 'My Picture' block a 600 x 600 image that is chopping off on the blog page but does display.

i believe the two blocks treat images differently, random images tries to fit up to 100 x 100 pixels inside it's block and My Picture block will trim but display up to 100 pixels of the original pic on the blog page. (blog column display limitation)

  4. I see what you mean.

I tried the same in my blog and got the same result.

I'll rattle Huski's cage and see if he can fix it.

    :o

i see the random image not displaying as a thumbnail as you described. went all through the blog settings, and it seems to be a bug, will report to invision software and look for an update in the future.

  5. last week there was a bad router/switch (located in the savvis.net network) between thailand and two hops before our server in the united states. once it was identified, traffic was re-routed.

anyone having delays, please do the following and paste your results in this thread:

go to a c:/ prompt and type in

    tracert thaivisa.com

    click enter

this trace will show the hops from your ISP to our server. also do a trace route with the following and post the results:

    tracert media.thaivisa.com

  6. Thanks Guy's for the information, I had been thinking that it would be a problem leaving Thailand while I had a

Application for extension of stay is Under consideration stamp in my passport,

    Many Thanks..... Mumbo

your re-entry permit will be dated to expire with your under consideration date. don't come back after that date or your extension will expire.

if you are planning to return after your under consideration date, get it extended further at immigration or check if your final extension is ready, then get your re-entry permit.

  7. You might want to use the "+quote" of the post when you want it part of your post and the lower "add reply" (to thread) to write your reply.

Makes no difference Lop......it merges them no matter what I use

    Merge member's concurrent posts

When a member posts twice within 10 minutes, once after the other in a topic they will be merged into one post.

  8. Normally I browse through various topics as guest. When I like to reply to a thread I log in and reply.

Now with the new version it is no longer possible to log in to a topic direct; instead the list of main forums re-appears and from there I have to browse again to the subforum and topic I was reading.

It's only a few clicks but I'm on dial-up so it slows things down a bit.

if you are not sharing your computer then try clicking on 'remember me' when logging in. this will keep you logged in if your browser cookies are enabled.

  9. Does anyone know where i can get a mail box address online. I will be moving to Bangna in Feb and I need an address that I can forward mail to. I also need it for other reasons my employer( outside Thailand) Tax man etc.

Any info would be great. I have tried to search but not come up with anything positive

    Thanks

You can not get a mail box online that i know of. Will need to fill out an application in person.

  10. you received a single entry non immigrant B visa. what you needed to do in your last month was go to Thai Immigration and get a one year extension of stay.

Now Im told by immigration that I cant even get a 1 year visa from in Thailand and I must leave the country to do it.
you will need to do this, get your paper work together and get another non immigrant B, then extend it once back in Thailand.
Do I have to leave the country for sure or can I use one of these companies I see in the bangkok post?

    not recommended

  11. I am still unclear on the USED STAMPS business.

When I enter Thailand using the first entry, should I expect them to stamp the visa USED even though it still has a second valid entry? Or, do they use another kind of stamp when there is still some use to the visa? I don't care if they stamp USED after the second entry, but concerned about the visa still being valid for the second entry after the first entry if it is already stamped USED.

when entering thailand on a fresh multi entry visa; the first entry will have the date stamped. the second entry should also have its date of entry stamped in. at that point (in the case of a double entry visa) the USED stamp maybe used or sometimes a line is drawn through the visa.

remember to check your admitted until date on your entry stamp everytime.

  12. Using westerners as an example: these folks basically don't require a visa to visit Thailand now, but they do require a visa to visit the other four countries in question. What would happen under this new plan?

    i don't think a 30 day entry without a visa will change.

sounds like getting a tourist visa from a consulate/embassy will first include thailand and cambodia then eventually more countries, i can't imagine all the countries involved agreeing on everything right away.

holders of a thai non-immigrant visa or extension should be able to enter once this is worked out, unless this is so geared towards tourism, then we will need to get a cambodian tourist visa (and the thai visa is not in effect when re-entering).

will need to see if this is worked out, has been talked about for quite a while now.
