  1. Better choose a different hospital . You do not have to go to Bangkok Hospital , with tenniscourt , swimmingpool and supernice entrances . Take a standard hospital and your bill is very cheap , spending even 100.000 there is something very very serious happening to you .
  2. Oh , and what is so valuable in the 100s or 1000s of "internet coins" , besides the electricity it costs to calculate them ? What makes it any different then a elephant painting a canvas ? They are unique , there is no way another elephant can make the same painting , same like the coins have unique numbers/calculations behind it . But the value in it is in the eye of the beholder . There is nothing backing it . You can say that about all coins , and that in a way is true , but the simple fact is that there are countries/economies behind it . Is there any value in Zimbabwe $ ? If you believe "your precious coin" is worth a gazillion $ , ok good for you , if you find anybody who can give you that for it , it is worth that , otherwise it isn't worth anything . Go to a shop in the middle of Africa , and try to pay with your "internet coin " and big chance there isnt electric there , neither phone but i can pay with my paper money , im sure . I am not afraid of it , but there is nothing in it . If tomorrow nobody buys it , then you are 100% stuck with your coins which in fact are worthless . You do know that if a war breaks out , 1st things out are electric / internet / communication lines . I like to see where you go with your digital wallet ... Real money in cash and gold are always valuable items .
  3. Simply said yes , because im not 21 and i am not a sportsman. More even , i am i close contact with my parents which are both old (78/82) and my father has got cancer which is spread out but under control . I know a few who have died from covid , since they were friends of my parents so i know wheat it can do . Then you say , but they were about to die , yes , 1 was , all others were not , they were much younger , but not 70+ age . Am i afraid of myself , no, im not , im afraid of my relatives . I am vaccinated off course , and i will do my best to reduce spread , but not because of me . If i should die , i will , but i do care others around .
  4. 1000 kWh equals 1 MWh = 0.001 GWh . so sorry , as far as i know , you didn't make gigawatts , but megawatts . Which is still very good , but a factor 1000 difference.
  5. If everybody is vaccinated , then all infections/positives are from vaccinated people . Vaccinated people can get sick also , and can spread it , but the chances are smaller for vaccinated vs non vaccinated people . So if your 70% is vaccinated and they count for 60% of infections , it is still working ,since the amount of people vaccinated is larger then the 60% ( in this case 70% ) . Next up is even more important , which is how many end up in hospital and how many in critical/icu/death? The There is the biggest difference between vaccinated vs non vaccinated. There are vaccinated people there , and again , if 100% of people are vaccinated , there will still be people there . Also again , the difference is that the chances of ending up in hospital and even more in death , is much larger for non vaccinated then for vaccinated . We all want a 100% vaccine , vaccinated and can't spread and cannot get sick anymore . It is a dream , and hopefully it does come along or even better the virus just mutates itself into something completely harmless . But as long as it isnt there , getting vaccinated is the best thing we got if we want to life to get as normal as possible .
  6. Some people still don't get it . There is nothing in it . It is a unique "number/calculation/or however it is made" . It is basically the same as a piece of art , and the value of it is based on if people want to pay X-amount for it or not . This means , today it can be 10.000 billion and tomorrow 0.0 . Can it be a great gamble ? Sure , you can be millionaire in a minute , but you can also lose everything in a minute .
  7. There will be people coming , i'm sure , if i'm allowed ( i am vaccinated , but covid cases rising fast here) i will come in January ( under the present rules is ok for me) . I guess many people are wanting to come , but having 1 million in 4 months ... that's a lot .
  8. Natural immune system vs vaccine is stupid . A vaccine is to trigger and learn your natural immune system , in case the real thing comes along . A vaccine does not stay in your body , it shows your body something which is "harmless" but still looks similar enough for your body to respond to it . Vaccinated or not , does not make any difference in that way , since basically both are natural immune system . Only difference is that the vaccinated person's immune system should have encountered a similar thing inside it's cells so it reacts faster and solves it before getting sick . You could do more or less the same by giving people the actual virus , and hope they do not get sick or die . The vaccine however got a lot larger chance of having no sick/death then the actual virus .
  9. Thailand and solving climate crisis .... they got to be seriously surprised if they step out of their sandbox . The amount of Thai persons who are even too lazy to walk for longer then 10m is incredible . The amount of Thais who just throw everything on the floor even if there is a garbage bag next to them . The burning of garbage , while they do have a garbage bin , collected and "processed" ( well at least its collected the processing is a different matter...) . The superlow quality items which you can use 1 time and you need to throw them away . Thailand has got a long long way to go to be "green" . This also means , by a couple of campaigns and small adaptions they can do a lot , but they aren't near the many other countries. They do got some very good resources possible , solar is around plenty in Thailand , they can/should make more use of it .
  10. What did you expect , people lining up for travel ? November might have been start for high season before2020 , but in reality , as long as i visit Thailand ( and i was always there in November ) it was always a very very quiet month . But but but ... people are wanting to come to holiday .... ok agreed , we do not come 1st day which is supposed to be easier then before and beside that , like somebody mentioned in another topic , it takes planning . I hope to come in January now , and i watch this month at least before i make any decision . Besides that , you still going long way travel , long way travel is something daring in these times , so forget about 99% of families . And behind that , do not forget that nightlife is closed , so not fun to be look forward to even if you want to . Experienced people to Thailand still want to come , so surely some more people will come , and it wont be a complete failure , but do not expect even 20% of the visits of 2019 . Thinking more , there's the difficulty travel , less flights , more rules , many things to think about .... .... .... it ain't easy , even if you want to come , even if the entry rules have been down to manageable lvls . People need to realize the world right now isn't the world of 2019 , even if we want to . Long haul travel right now is something not for weak hearth people . It is people with a long bond to that country , they should give them a livelong visa , because they want to go that extra mileage . I know it won't happen , but still if you think about it ...
  11. Why is there names in blue zone area but also in other colored areas ? Udon Thani for example.
  12. True but what can this planet take , 10 billion , 15 billion ... We all breath out CO2 , we all need food and we aren't vegetarians . You can't blame it all on the some few, which you think right now . We are with too much people , if we give everybody the same standard we well beyond breaking point .
  13. Thats all what it is about . Some people don't understand and prob never will . They try find all kinds of excuses and unfortunate since medicine isn't a science like physics sometimes they do got some points right . It is very difficult to prove them wrong , since vaccines aren't working 100% on all 8 billion of people . That is why governments do have to shut up and just make it obligatory for everybody unless well know scientific facts ( like immune/allergic reactions ) . They did before but now all they care about is about next election and they're paycheck after . They should make all people making statements on all social channels ( fb, tiktok or similar) accountable to what they say , if you announce something make sure you can prove it . Anyway , vaccines work , they do keep large amount of people out of trouble , but since they do not work 100% , some people will always die or get sick . It is easy to prove otherwise but in fact is difficult if you only want to see what you want to see .
  14. True , for part of it , but Human kind ( aka all of us ) have been around for approx 300.000 y . The planet will survive , no matter what for a couple of billion years more , until our sun is getting too close and all is burned . The climate change unfortunate is real , and in fact will never be stopped unless we weed out a large portion of it . Nobody speaks like that , but it is a basic fact that we are with too much people on this planet . This will solve itself , if not by diseases then its by famine/drought or war or all together . In the meanwhile lots of things are gonna change in short term , like it or not , since it is gonna be forced . EV will be the 1st , soon EV will be cheaper then combustion . Let's think about it this way , right now , you can fuel up your EV with home solar panels . This was never a option before ( well you could use cooking oil with mild adaptation or use the cooking oil to make biodiesel , but both weren't the easiest around ) . For a little amount of money ( little meaning : in comparison to building a home and buying a car ) you can be 100% of the electric grid and even use your own electric to power your transport .
  15. If all stays like it is now , i will come in January . These rules are ok for me . 1 or 2 night in quaratine hotel , not the best but 100% understandable . Insurance , can't imagine travelling without it , if it does stay like it , i'll skip my (extensive ) insurance i got back here , ok . I can go everywhere , and by that time there should be some drinking possible . Good enough for me ... i'll take it after 2 years of not travelling . TBH i hope not too many people take it , since i not looking forwards sitting in crowded airplane for 12-18h ( transfer time included ) . Although you can be infected in that time , it won't show up positive in Thailand since that would take a few days , so at least after the test done .
  16. No they are infected . If you did get vaccinated , the virus doesn't care . It enters the body , any person , vaccinated or not , and gets into a cell . When it is inside your cell , the virus replicating itself . In a vaccinated person ( or somebody who did have the infection before ) other cells in your body recognize the infected cells which are replicating itself throughout your body .Till that moment , there is no difference between the 2 . So then the difference appears , since your body already got like millions of infected cells ( they do go fast ...) in a vaccinated person , the body actually knows what it is , and will "fix" the problem , killing all the infected cells , but it does take a few days , since the infected cells are smart enough to you everywhere in your body and keep on reproducing every single second . In a non vaccinated person this part takes a lot longer , since it does not recognize what it is , or how to fix it . Every second lost , is xxx amount of bloodcells more infected . This difference in time is also the difference in getting sick and transmitting it . Anyway , after a while , normally your body ,sick or not , tries the find what works and how to get rid of the infected cells and everything falls back to normal . The difference in vaccinated vs non vaccinated is the time the body needs to find a antibody and recognize the infected cell . Think of it like working in a company , some people might wear the same clothes , acting the same but are actually terrorists . The security guards does need to identify those persons , but if he never got any training how to spot them or get them out , it will take a while before he can do . The vaccine , trained the security to know them from the 1st moments they enter .
  17. Contract yes , spread is less , due to the antibodies working on fixing the viral infection as soon as it enters the body . This is surely not 0 , but is less in time and also less in amount of viral load then an non-vaccinated person .
  18. Even making a host sick is less for transmission then just giving a sneeze . If you get fever and can't go out , you can't spread as much as a virus which only gives you a running nose ( or even less to none) . That is in fact what eventually what will happen , as what happened to other corona virus . It takes years since it doesn't need to adapt itself if it can transmit just as good . The virus doesn't need to think about it , it is only the strain which can infect another host which will survive , the other 1 will be out since no more hosts left .
  19. Electric aviation , even the industry is seriously looking about that . It isnt there yet , but even the industry says that in relative short time frame (10-15y) short haul flights can be done electrical . Long haul is not on the table yet , unless they find other ( aka much higher energy density , way beyond what is known now ) types of battery. Saying like it isnt there since only tests are done and the airplane can only do 9 person for 250 miles , remember that 15y ago electric cars did not exist ( well they did 100y ago ) , let alone with a range of 100 miles . Even 5 years ago 200 mile range was about the maximum . Technology is evolving fast , and yes it will take a few years , but it is way closer then you might think . There are many many hurdles , for all this electrification of transport , but it is fast moving in . It will create other problems ( like the charging capacity , grid not up to date , ... ) but just see the speed it is evolving , and you see that within 20years , a whole lot is gonna be very different .
  20. Charge time to 0 maybe can be but electricity in is electricity in . To load 50kW of battery power ( electric cars have batteries of 30-80 kW ) to load in 1 sec you need 50kW * 3600 second is a 180.000kW load , or simply said , a complete powerplant , only to charge your car . It creates huge powersurges since the grid can't take that kind of jumps up and down . ---> meaning , even if you dream about that and the battery can do , it will not happen . It is much better to charge slow , much less influence on the grid . This all comes to a behavior change , petrol : drive your tank low and go to petrol station to fill it up again and drive again the same thing . Electric , most people drive lower distance 99% of the time . So when you drive like 50-100km in a day , you can easily come home , put in in your home at standard slow charge and it will be ready for you filled up again . Only if you cover 300+ km in a day , for more days after each other , faster charging is needed . If it is some kind of smart grid , then the electric charging can be coupled to see which car needs the most , at what time , so the influence on the grid can be much much lower . This said , you surely need extra electric power from the grid , since the electricity does not go in that wires from nowhere .
  21. If the battery isn't dead , that low of a voltage isn't a good sign for a long life .
  22. I did check the Embassy website , since i am from Belgium also . I think it is better to call them and tell them you want to come 4th Jan , with tourist visa . The phone nr is on the website . If not possible for making a call , send them a email ( i'd rather call ...) .
  23. China is actually running a test this year or next year about harvesting solar power in space and sending it to earth ... will try to google it ... https://spacenews.com/chinas-super-heavy-rocket-to-construct-space-based-solar-power-station/ https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/15/china-plans-a-solar-power-play-in-space-that-nasa-abandoned-long-ago.html there's more to be found , just checked 1 sec ... So they are working on it .
  24. They are thinking/working on , making the whole world connected . Since that would make the whole energy transition a lot easier . When the sun doesn't shine where you live , it does shine somewhere else , same with wind , same with summer and winter season . It does cost a bit , but as you see nowadays , staying where we are now will get a lot more expensive in the future . With the global warming , believing or not doesn't matter , there is a need for renewable energy and all others will phase out . In some countries it will happen faster then in others , and some economies are getting more involved in it or not , but all is gonna be like that ... like it or not . Are there other ways , yes , but non of them are easy , nor cheap .
  25. Hmm , do you mean a automatic one or a quartz ? A automatic watch can always be fixed , but most likely not at your local Big C . A quartz , then it gets a lot harder , beside cleaning and changing battery , there is not a lot they can do .
