  1. There is a new technology underway in batteries, production starting in 2023. There is plenty more info around about these batteries . Before you say , but we all know about new technologies , but it takes ages to go mass market. True , but the company claiming production is CATL , 1 of the biggest Li-ion battery makers. The advantages are huge in home electricity storage , as they should be cheaper , by quite a lot ( maybe not in the start) , as sodium is about as abundant around as air ( probably even more sodium then air) .
  2. So far as i know , no visa is there for "visiting or staying with GF" . I can be wrong , but not any country will have a visa like that . In this view , the only legit visa is tourist visa .
  3. Sure , but do you see that on beach road or 2nd road ? With a motorbike for a few m yes , not with a car . Problem is that there is too much traffic already on Soi Buakhao . Especially at the crossings with Soi Lengkee , where every single day the traffic gets stuck . The 2 way traffic there creates a big mess , since traffic from 3th road over to Lengkee wanting to cross the road to Soi LK and traffic coming from both directions wanting to go straight . When it is 1 way , like beach or 2nd , the traffic will get much easier . It is by far the easiest and cheapest solution . 3th road is bigger and can handle 2 way traffic , especially since there are much less people walking , crossing roads .
  4. I was in Pattaya during the fireworks festival . Pure chaos around Soi Buakhao , couldn't even walk . What they need to do is make Soi Buakhao also 1 way . This is the simplest solution .
  5. As far as i know and heard , this is impossible and not only for Growatt but for all inverters . The reason is that 1 needs to be the master unit and other(s) slave(s) .If power fails , then the units don't know which unit to listen to .If you want to parallel units , you need a battery .
  6. No , i know as a white ( aka farang) i am entitled to some priviledges , but i also pay more then a Thai person . Imho , that is my benefit ... i am entitled to pay extra for everything . I do not mind , i do my thing and as long as they act normal to me i am fine . I do understand i am the foreigner in their country and i do not speak their language perfectly .
  7. yes , being honest to myself , i never ever think in the morning evening or any other time , thank god i am xxx color . I never even thought about anybody thinking like that . I am on internet and im drinking some beer so i can talk open ... i am racist in many of peoples believes here in Belgium . I do however never ever come close to your vision of the world . I never think bad about people based on color . Color is where you born , and your parents , more sun=darker . I do not think bad about that .I really mean when i say , your view on the world is very racist . Never i would even mildly think , oh i look in the mirror and say , thank god i am white ... that is a disgrace to me and i really cannot understand such kind of thinking .
  8. TBH , i never think about being a white guy , neither do i think about others in any shade . I never looked in the mirror thinking , damn i am a white guy . Neither did i ever looked at others thinking she is black , green , yellow or any other color . I do see the darker or lighter color , like he/she is African , he/she is Asian , or European , but i never think like in colors. Yes the background does do something , like a EU person is different then somebody from Asia or Africa , but not at all in the way you think . I personally think the simple way you think is just racist .
  9. Yes , as with any airline . Past years ( 2020-2021) have been extremely bad for any airline , reasons why , don't need to clarify . Now it is a new era , past the 2020-21 years , with new future ahead . Etihad is going back to A380's , as well as some other companies . There are planes being ordered in large amounts , and long distance flights are now not only expensive but also full . Thai Airways , in any chance of survival/business , needs good airplanes . A350's are extremely attractive , meaning , for passengers who do travel a bit and are looking for a nice aircraft to get a seat in it is actually nr2 on the list . Most people do not care , but on the other hand they do , bad experience in flight they choose another next time. The list for long distance is A380-A350-787 and all the rest , much further behind .
  10. I can see why you are unhappy with it, but look at it the other way around. These people are just doing their job, meaning they want to find out who is coming in and why and do we have any reason to doubt it. Maybe he seen something wrong , maybe he just had a bad day , maybe they just had new instructions. For me it seems he asked some questions and not just stamp/stamp .. . You were not set aside , not had a private conversation/investigation . Yes that experience isn't the most pleasant start but imho ok . I had costums officers asking more questions or even officers asking second amount of paperwork like ID/drivers license to check if my passport was correct. Look at people from Thailand are handled with correct paperwork are handled by EU immigration officers . They are actually set apart and do get a 10 min talk/investigation (did bring in my GF for a holiday over few years ago). Is doing some checks correct? I think it is , it is their job and as long as you have been treated correct, i think it is fine.
  11. It is not essential if you buy a EV . Some people (many) think that a charger is something you need with a EV , and it is not . You can just charge from any standard plug in your home . No special equipment needed . Charging stations are only needed for travel long distance , not for daily use , and that distance is larger then you think . 1h standard plug charge is 2.3kW , So plug in your home socket , 10h ( your sleep , wake up , eat time , gives you 23kW of power , enough for driving 150km .
  12. Would nr1 not be viable under the Thailand Elite visa ? "Despite your Thailand Elite visa validity is 5 years, it allows to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 1 year per stay. If you don't plan to travel outside Thailand during a full year, you can contact the member service which will send you a letter to extend your stay for another year. It's straight forward with just a form to fill, the letter from member service and your passport."
  13. No company besides solar panels give a 25y warranty . That is because the technology is very stable and actually very easy . That doesn't mean it can't go wrong , it only means by far most solar panels do produce 80% of their starting power after 25y . If it does go wrong , and like i said it does rarely happen , prob the panel is not producing anything anymore , which is prob not in the warranty . Anyway ,trying to get the warranty after 25y , i'd say , chances are pretty small .
  14. Why do you bother ? Is it your business ? I do not live there but i know a person back here also saying the same and i told him before why ? But it is morning ... i say morning for you perhaps (i work shifts) . Prob the old man isn't working nightshiftrs but again , who are you to decide on others peoples lives. If he gives troubles and comes in drunk everyday , ok . If that isn't the case , and he is just enjoying a drink in the (your) morning , why do you bother ? People always assume their daily routine is like others ... but it isn't and i can tell after 32y of full continuous shift work that it certainly isn't . Some people are night people , others are morning ( most and that is how all society works but it aint the thing for everybody) , others switch from day to day . That is just talking daily routine / sleeping patterns not even talking about drinking , which can even be much more different . Maybe that old person just enjoys 1 drink in morning breakfast and after he doesn't drink alcohol for all day . So many people , so many options , you are not the reference .
  15. The trick is , keep your car fully loaded . Not like your petrol or diesel car , where you refuel when empty , just plug in your car when you are at home . This way you need not 10h , 15h for fully loading your car , but only 1-4 hours ( normal outlet that means 2.5-10kW or 15-75km which covers most transport needs ) .
  16. I am ordering a EV outside Thailand and i know several people driving EV's . Most of those people do NOT have any charge or wall box , and they do use their car every single day for driving to work. All EV's i know can charge from any normal output at 2.3kW . Knowing that EV's normally use 15-20kW/100km , means you can use any normal output if you do less then 150km per day . I guess , by far most people do not do those distances . Sure wallbox does charge faster , but just plug in your car when you are home and you can drive every single day a good distance without any special wiring and meters .
  17. If thats the case , open up a hospital somewhere where they can smoke it freely , so not open in the street , or especially in crowded places where the smell keeps hanging around for long time.
  18. Your name prob says it all . Yes i try to move to different places like i said . If it was at the places selling it , np , it is legal , so who am i to complain. The thing is , it was not at those places , but just in the street , move around another 30m and you get out of the smell but move another 30m and there comes another wave of that smell . Beer and p*ss smell as you say , true , but that has always been around bars . Maybe i'm just very sensitive to the smell of cannabis , but i smell it from far away and i keep inhaling it for a long time .
  19. Seen that many times around Thailand . No ploblem... it's overflow valve .
  20. Yes , so if the smell of cannabis puts all other smells away , it must mean it is very bad...
  21. Well isn't that the case everywhere around the world (before the woke thing) . If you see somebody with a different skin color and you need to know who that is , you do pronounce him as the "person with that color" . In Thailand that means "farang" if you are a white person. I do not call it racist in anyway . Only be offenced if they do know who you are and keep on calling you farang instead of your name.
  22. Just out of Pattaya , staying around Buakhao . The stench at many places is incredible. This is not at the legal places but just around and in some bars. Smoking stinks too, but this is a whole different lvl in my opinion. Idk how to solve that, but for me it really smells so bad that if i smell it , i try to move fast to another place.
  23. Arrived in Suvarnabhumi today from inland flight . That flight was already late by 20 mins according to the pilot speaking due to BKK traffic. Anyway, arrived in BKK, no passport control since domestic flight ,so straight over to the baggage belt . Baggage belt ... and wait and wait more and wait more . It took 1h to get the bags and i was actually 1 of the 1st of my flight getting them . OK over to 1st floor for grab a taxi . Nope , had to wait in the entrance of the building ... the row was that long . Took 30 mins to get to the counter . So yes i can def say they can't manage the new traffic now ....
  24. Like expected . Numbers are up, like i said a few months ago , many people did not go Thailand in 3y. Now high season is starting, numbers are up. Many airport services did lay off people and are now struggling with the load. Do not forget the chaos in many European airports this summer, with 1000s of flights cancelled, luggage stacks, strikes of security ,... Thailand is not alone in this matter.
  25. I also believe that is the case. I guess, these venues are frequented by Asians and might have got something to do with drugs/gambling. Some places in Bangkok came recently in the news for similar facts, maybe same owners? I am pretty sure that a normal acting tourist might get a drug test when checked, but when they ask you your passport and say i left it in my room at X place , at a polite manner they will not even check further and just let you go. Btw i did get stopped frequently in Thailand for alcohol test, drivers license , speed limit ( that was just ripoff but ok) and to be honest, i never gotten into trouble , besides paying a fine. Also the police were always friendly and understanding. React normally , calm and cooperative and i am pretty sure not much will happen.
