  1. I did read about those batteries before , but check here... https://www.cnbc.com/2015/09/15/low-cost-saltwater-battery-wins-500000-award.html That is from 2015 . We are now 2022 and there are not a lot of companies making them . In a market which has gained huge market share , batteries are in big demand . Might be bad business decisions and all , but basically the tech is quite simple so many others could by now have gone in that direction also . Thinking about Chinese companies which are now the big companies for making batteries , simple technology , not much to do wrong and safe , a prime market for any low budget producer . And still after 7y , "not much" has happened . Translate this to the other new battery technologies which are being "discovered and/or tested" and are supposed to be ready for production . A decade moves along fast , translating something from lab scale to industrial scale production just takes time . btw there are others around the corner also , like solid state batteries , carbon air batteries , ...
  2. Batteries keep improving, but do not expect having a look at Lazada or Shopee and just order any time soon. Things like this take time, time to do more testing, after time for making production sides, time to get them to full speed production. Do not expect it to be anywhere visible in the market within 5y, 10y is much more probable and that is if the research is fully done, and the building phase has started. Expect also the price to be high at the start, new buildings/research need to be payed, which takes another 2-3 years before it gets really in the consumer market .
  3. The tourists want to come back, but the hurdles are not small. 1st covid is not finished, it's a lot better but not over. 2nd entry rules still not very easy, my Thai Pass is ready, but anyone going won't be there for the 1st time and not a lot will come with family. 3th massive inflation, fuel costs, war ... lots of uncertainties. Expect a slow rise in tourism, maybe speeding up by the end of the year, depending on those different factors.
  4. Transport is 1 of the least used and needed sources . Most fuel/petroleum is used as precursor for making all you see around you . I inform you how it goes : Petroleum goes in a cracker , coming out as ethylene and propylene , from there those 2 are directly made into polyeth and polyprop (PE and PP). But another step is making it into ethylene oxide and propylene oxide . Those 2 are very handy precursors for just about everything you use , from soap over paint over medicines or even food additives ....
  5. Quit nagging , if you like lower price go somewhere else .... IMHO prices are fabulous , they are crazy low .
  6. I have seen tests before from "small" aka household wind turbines and the results have been pretty bad . This was from a windy country ( Holland) and pretty flat and testing was done during a complete 12month period . Problems are plenty , like towers are just too small . The wind needs to be undisturbed to create good pressure on the blades . Any disturbing on the wind , like roofs , trees , ... will drastically reduce the power of wind harvested ( laminar flow vs turbulent ) . Also , most of the time , even in a windy country , the wind does move the blades , but power generated vs investment is just not worth it . In Thailand's case , i'd say , unless you live on the coast , stick to 100% solar . If you do live on the coast , take at least 90% solar , and max 10% wind power . Do not think the numbers of the companies are real , since they are in ideal conditions ... and those are not happening . Solar in Thailand is real , it got gaps , but you can be sure it will be there again in a few hours , creating electric again .
  7. My Hitachi small water pump is +/- 10 y old , and the small bladder tank ( it's a WM-P type) has been changed 1 time . Works flawless. I believe many times the failures are because of adding too much power , aka using a too big pump for the use . Indeed , pumps can certainly be too big for their use . Most houses do not need a 400W or more pump . Mine is a 150watt and it is plenty good enough , but i like maybe 1 model larger . This is a 1 floor house and a few taps , and the 150watt pump can handle perfectly 2 taps at once , or even 3 .
  8. Let's all wait official report and it won't harm anyone to check in front of possible failures of some kind . We are all just guessing here , and there are not much reasons and everything , but let the research team do some action . 737-800 have been around for some time and has been proven so far pretty safe , not like the 737-max .
  9. How do you get that speed ? The speed measured in Flightradar is horizontal ground speed , not speed in general . Even the horizontal ground speed exceeded the max of 540mph ( 590mph) .
  10. I dropped vertically in the mountain . Vertically means massive overspeed . Engine failure does not lead to vertical crash , unless pilot error . A airplane can fly from 8km high without any engine pretty far and land without problem . skip to 1:21 and you see the security cam recording the plane falling vertically from the sky . There are not many reasons to do so . 1 of them is serious pilot error , 2nd big reason is the tail section ( horizontal stabilizer ) being gone for 1 reason or another . And actually not many other reasons are there ,
  11. I have seen images which might suggest , and a say this very carefully , since nothing of that is sure , don't even know if the pics are sure , that the tail of the 737-800 has fallen off . This might be a reason for a plane to drop vertically from the sky . Tail dropping off can have a few reasons also , 1 being massive overspeed when plummeting to the ground , other reason can me massive decompression of the bulkhead in the end of the plane or some other reason .
  12. OK then , a quick quote ... 300kWh per day : 75kWp of solar minimum @ 10 baht/W , at least 750k inverters ... tricky since idk how you want it , but lets just say low budget 5000W inverters ( and they are not the ones you need but ok ...) @20k per piece : 10 of them might do it ... but like i said , unknown how and what ... so 200k Batteries ... imagining lot of power to be used at night , 3/4th out of it , since aircons .... meaning 220kWh used at night . 250kWh of batteries might do it ... euhhmmm let me think . 10kW for 50k so ... 1.25 million . no installation , no planning , no mounting things , no fuseboxes or anything like that ... 2.2million . I'd rather say at least 3 million needed and since the batteries are the big cost , i would count in a 10% change per year , so another 125k per year of replacing batteries .
  13. I continuous ask myself why people with industrial plans are asking "us noobs" . A 300kW per day use ... thats 15kW/h 24/7 ... that ain't just a project , that is something needing serious supervision , planning , industrial scale . Even just a generator generating that amount will cost you some serious money . If you are talking a multi million Baht investment , do not ask us , who order from Lazada/Shopee/Ali . The dealers there cannot follow up on these kind of orders , it simply is a different scale . I do not mean to be bad , but ask yourself what are you planning to do . We are talking about powering homes , with less then 30kWh daily , often 10-20 . This is a different scale , requiring much more funds , parts , planning ... just different .
  14. It's a :and + and + and story . The war created a huge disruption of the market , especially on energy prices , which is needed for everything . Also for the food , with Ukraine being a huge grain producer around the world . The market was already shaking by covid and indeed let's not forget 2008 . All the things combined makes a perfect storm .
  15. I had 2 shots of Pfizer , and the boostershot was Moderna . Moderna , with the people i know had a lot more side effects . However , for the booster , Moderna is half a dose . I had slight side effects , nothing to mention about or i remember . IMHO , if you did have Pfizer before , choose Moderna , and opposite . Why ? Because both are same technology , but slightly different ingredients and dose ( Moderna big active ingredient dose ) , so as booster , slightly different might learn your body also the smaller differences between virus . IDK if this really is the case , but if the medical industry/health agencies says green light , i am in favor of that also .
  16. Are all Americans blatant unknown of all cultures around ? Do all French people drink whine ? Are all English person hooligans ? You do not have to answer me , since you do know the answer . Do Russians have their own culture , yes sure , like all countries in the world . But that does not mean they are bad , it is their culture . I have spoken to many different people around the world , some are good , some are bad . Generalizations stand , because it is their culture , but not as you think they are . When you focus on the bad , you are right , but every country on the world does have good points also . They are all people , and basically they all want the best . Your best is not 100% like their best , but it doesn't mean their best is wrong , it is different but not wrong . If everybody would realise it , there would be no wars . So in respond to are Russians ignorant , rude and arrogant , maybe , but maybe they just introvert , self assured and unknown . I am 10.000% against the war and i never ever will give a headup for it , but not all Russians are in front of war . I only do not hate Russians , for me they are people , and they do have background , but looking behind it , as you should do , since you are a visitor in Thailand also , you should do the same for Russians .
  17. It might be it's duty , but if they don't do it , then they still stuck .
  18. If you have a ticket from another company , which is not Russian , suddenly you can be stuck . Buying a new ticket with Russian company is not possible thx to transactions might be refused , and also your money exchange rate is down the drain . Do not over simplify the situation , as it isn't that easy all the time .
  19. They might have Russian passports , but they are not Putin . Do not put everybody of a country the same as their government leader and his actions . If they start wearing the Z sign or 3A ( basically the same in cyrillic script ) then it starts to get a different story . This is the same for any other country in the world . Russian tourist being stuck due to several reasons ( aka closed down Visa/Mastercard , Swift transactions blocked , airlines not operating their routes , dropped exchange rate ... ) surely did not want this and did not count on it also .
  20. Not to mention it is good or bad ... but any promise , and i really mean ANY promise , by ANY politician , across the world does mean anything ? This does not mean i am for it nor against it ( well yes i am , but that's beside the answer i give ) , just a general observation . A promise does not mean anything and even less when it comes from any politicians mouth .
  21. I did put my tank full today in Belgium , since tomorrow another big pricehike . Everybody would be jumping up an down to see your prices ... ( ps its double over here ) .
  22. Ignorant , because it is highly forbidden to be against it . All news is filtered , so no negative voice is heard . The Russians who do have contacts/media with outside Russia , most oppose strong .
  23. I can do this , if WW3 hasn't started by then , i will come in May . TBH , some things i still don't like , like the insurance , since i got 1 from my home country , and if they really want it like that , just put the 300 baht fee in and make it the needed insurance fee ( which clearly is not ) . 1st day PCR , ok , how does day 5 ATK works ? Send in a pic ? have to go to test center? Anybody got info on it ?
  24. @webfact "Few could pick Ukraine out on a map, even if they could locate Europe!" You must be Murican ... which only can find USA on the map (if it has names on the map ) . I am very sure by far most ( i should say all , but i know young people are grown up by internet and school systems don't mean anything anymore ) do know exactly where Ukraine is . Ukraine isn't Montenegro ( no offense ) ,it is the biggest country of Europe and bordering with Russia , anybody who ever looked at a map should be able to find it in seconds .
