The discrimination in Thailand is not a matter of being Muslim or Buddhist or Animist but it is most certainly a matter of not having money.  The Muslims from the southern provinces face no more discrimination than does a poor Isaan, Karen, or Shan resident of the Kingdom.  But like most other countries, there is a preference for encouraging ethnic divisions so as to lessen any chance of class consolidations.

Yes, it is. Do you consider that Isaan like places can earn hundred Billions

of bhat every year from tourism industry, but muslim from south even gain

nothing from rich islands like pukhet, kau samui, krabi,....They can't engage

in it much, because they can't offer their sex.

Isaan people are much richer comparing to muslim thai, but isaan girls seems

more lazy in taking higher education? if tell me "No" , i will prove to you in

my next answer.

Thai athourities should have sent ladyboys there to resist

the protester, considering most of them were youths.

It's very hard to get sex in the south, and it leads to all kind

of violence, as matter of fact have you seen most middle

eastern tourists with ladyboys in sukhumvit all the times.

It's the only way i see to weaken their faith for fighting,

and soon to become softy like us. Ladyboys are the only

Branch out bro. Even around Khao San you can get 40 baht Chang or Leo. You just gotta know where to go. Theres more to BKK than Sukhamvit.

It is possible to survive on 30,000  a month. But as what has been said. It depends on lifestyle. I personally earn 30k a month. But then again i live with my gf and she earns 25k+ a month.. So we live out of each others pockets. But if you are single and go out maybe once a week and eat on the streets. You'll be alright. You wont have much money left at the end of the month but you can live. As long as you dont frequent farang bars and restaurants. Keep your living costs under 8k(apartment+bills) then you are alright.

Suppose your wife is contributing half, that means you

earning is 42K, meantime seems you aren't frequenting

How one can survive for less than 40K if is single

Let me categorize the living expense for expats who are single, or

married with a thai lady with no child (Generalizing and trying to avoid

any exceptions):

-20,000bhat is the least amount you can live with, life will be miserable too,

and have more fun back home.

-40,000 is the amount "YOU HAVE TO HAVE" to survive, but forget nightlife

and other entertainments, quality eating , having companion, nice place

for stay,...

- 60-70,000 Bhat, This is what i can live with . Yes, you won't have luxery

life, but still can enjoy, because "not everyone" is "in need" of luxery life.

- 120-140,000 Bhat, This is the amount you need to have a perfect life, but

depands if you know where to shop, eat, stay, play .....otherwise double

these amount even won't suffiecent for those laking experiance.

I'm considering sailing by boat over there.( and living on it) So I need to find out if it's possible to get telephone/cable lines run down to the harbors.( for internet hookup)

In the states it's very common to have land lines coming to your boat, while you are in a marina (for internet hookup). But in the Island's, they often don't have marina's, so you have to go to a hotel for internet hookup.

How is it done in the marine environment, in Thailand?
