Just creates scum lines in sides of the pool and effects the salt chlorinator cell plates. When the plates are covered in oil they won't produce chlorine. So even self cleaning as most are now, they only "by opposite polarisation", take off calcium buildup. So the cells need cleaning with dish washing liquid at least yearly!

Good advice Bagwain..Will inspect the cells.. Are they easy to reach... or see? Just take off the plastic lid and one can see it..? I mean. I know the chlorinators comes in different styles.. Mine is in a cigar tube plastic container for example...

In what way does sunscreen affect a pool ? If one could skip the make part and ask the "visiting cuties" to wash up before they dive, sunscreen is essential even when in the water ? Could you please explain, if you have a moment please ? Thank you.

Sunscreen is seldom 100% waterproof so it will stay in the pool. Some of it that is.. The "fat" from the cream will stay on top like a grey layer and takes some time to clean. Its not bad for the pool... Its just not so clear. I have seen this myself some times, but in the beginning people told me this. Its not only ramblings from my side. Then again.. If you choose to have sunscreen in your pool do it.

  3. As far as I see.. It is about 10 bags of salt and eletric for a saltwaterchlorinated pool.. plus cleaning. Maintenance not included..

I would say eletric about 3500 for your size and 10 bags of salt at 140 baht pr. bag=1400. Mainenance or cleaning done not by yourself is around 2000 baht a month. It does matter of course how much the pool is used and if its rainy season etc.. No makeup from women or no peeing is essential.. Also no sunscreen of course...It also needs a little bit of water..if you have an overflow and not a "normal" skimmer that is under the pool top..

All grand total about 6-7000 thb.

If you have a garden... add a thousand or more depending on size to the maintenance..Prepare to change grout about every three years which would be around 25000 or less.

    Just my experience....

  4. I dont get the problem.. Can you transfer to a friends account in Thailand and he can take it out on his visa or mastercard here?.. If you dont have any of course you might need western union and you do not need to do it through a friend. Call Santander and they will transfer to nearest western union for you. At least most banks in scandinavia do that as a service...

  5. Maybe I misunderstood the OP.. , but the way he wrote it triggers some important info. There IS a new medical form. make sure you get the right one.. The new was in effect 1. march this year (2018). Its more of a self declearance and the doctor just testify with a stamp to it. You fill it out yourself at the clinic. It cost everything from 50-200 baht.

  6. I told someone in here a year ago about this, but nobody believed me... Probably the hard way is the way... Well.. or just pay the fine and go to chiang mai or as far as you can.. Nobody really cares. You can tell police that the law is not in effect anymore, but they will not believe you until they are handed a white sign on their next new vehicle....

First question: Are you sure your debit card is authorized (by your bank) for online purchases? They are normally not and you have to talk with your bank (for me it was the SCB call center) about opening them for online business

Second, normally banks here will give you a credit card when you deposit twice the limit of the card in a secured account. Secured meaning that you will not get the bank book for that account, the bank will keep it. I had to open a 200K account for a 100K credit limit, I get interest on it (1.x percent) and can use my card (including loading / top-up through e-banking if I need a higher limit)

With SCB you can activate the card with a sms code.. No need to go to the branch. At least I could.

I know the credit card rules.. One can can wonder what the whole point of a credit card is if they want security twice to get one. The debit master from SCB works fine for international online payments anyway.

  8. What I do understand is that they can ask for cash and do not allow bank books or statements.. That makes sense since you could have spent the money 10 times after printing a copy of that... BUT.. what if you flip open phone and log in to SCB and show them a balance that is sufficient?.. It cant be more updated on the millisecond like that...?

You need to see if she has the marriage certificate as they don't keep copies.

If there is no marriage certificate, then she is not married.

If you know she is the one for you and you want to support her and her kid in OZ, get her a VISA.

No one will come looking for whether she is married or not in OZ.

The marriage certificate is the only proof of marriage. without it you are in the clear.

Well.. I understand your point.., but you are of course registered in the computer system for that also.. The same way when you divorce they update that same file.

People loose their papers everyday.. like blue or green books as well..

You go and report it stolen, forgotten or lost and go through the rules and they print you another one with the result of the old book, marriage paper og carbook tambien ban or whatever is Void.

Of course it is like this. ?

Take the ferry from Samui to Donsak. You can pre-book a mini man tourist bus from Donsak to Khao Sok. Once finished you can take a pre-booked minivan from KS to Phucket.

A lot faster and a lot cheaper !

Yepp... Its the fastest and best way.. Although extremely boring though...

You are wrong. It does not have to be applied for outside of Thailand. A non immigrant visa (category O) is applied for and a 90 day entry is given when the visa stamp is done.

The link I posted clearly states it can be applied for at immigration here in Thailand.

The page you posted a link to has a lot of incorrect info on it.

Im sure you are right.. I just have never experienced that... So you mean you can walk over to your province immigration office and apply for a 90 days Non Immigrant O?

And what do you mean with "when the visa stamp is done"? The stamp is the visa right?

I have had several Non im O before I married for different reasons, but was always told that check to get that visa has to be done at an embassy abroad.. Maybe I was given wrong info or they changed. Also.. I have never given proof of even 1 baht for that visa.. Just paid the regular 1500 baht abroad(in local currency) about.

    another link:

    https://www.phuket.net/phuket-living/visas/non-immigrant-visa/

    NON-IMMIGRANT VISA

Non-immigrant visas can be obtained by foreigners wishing to enter Thailand for various purposes at Royal Thai embassies or consulates abroad. The purpose of visit must be stated in the application form.

    link

I dont disagree with you. there might be different ways I dont know about....

    C

  12. We talk around each other.. The Non immigrant O 90 days have to be applied for out of Thailand anyway. Any thai embassy or consulate that does it. Remember there are possibly at least 20 ways to get a Non im O. I am just saying the non im o is applied for outside.. The 90 day one that is.

The extension of this based on marriage is like you say 400k Inside Thailand then.

This should explain it more to the core.

  13. I dont understand the problem... Make her scan the marriage document(s) from the amphur. Easy as chips..

And she can of course divorce in his absence.. If she was never married at the amphur she is not legally married and only the kid can complicate her moving.. I think the father(if he wants.. ) have to sign. It is common sense OP in Thailand these things... IF she doesnt know about this... RUN.
