  1. Try Tswipe Pro.

According to the description: "This application can't sell in Android market due to it doesn't support Thailand"

Again, my quest is for a one-key changeable keyboard (English/Thai) with predictive texting in both languages. It may not yet be available....but if someone knows an app that fits, please let me know.

Really, I use TSwipe-Pro keyboard in my android phone (Thai phone number) and it is a free keyboard app.

  2. Was In the news about 10 days ago, they had just started repairs to many pot holes in the swampy runways and parking spots, repairs estimated to take 3 months. Delays expected.

Maybe this affected your Qatar flight.

Taxiways and parking spots are repaired in this time, not the runways. And it started yesterday (10 Jun 2013).

The pilot just told us that as we departured late a little bit Suvarnabhumi Airport was to busy and can not provide a landing slot so the flight had to be redirected to DMK...

    But that sounds unbelievable?????

Sounds unbelievable but it can be possible.

  3. You have omitted one of the most important benefits: enrollment in the Thai Social Security system, which not only provides full health care cioverage at a very low price but which you can remain in for life even after you stop working provided you keep up the small payments.

in fact, people sometimes get a WP and job just to get into that system, especially if they have pre-existing conditions which make it hard or impossible to get private insurance.

Can you really stay in it when unemployed or retired by the paying the contributions yourself? I thought it expired 6 months after leaving formal employment and there was no way to stay in longer. If that's correct, at what rate do you pay the contributions which are a percentage of your salary up to a maximum salary of Bt 15,000 and who pays the employer's contribution?

Anyone who leaving the job not more than 6 months can apply to the section 39 of social security system. The pay rate is 432 THB.

  4. Democrats don't seem to be concerned about the 'rule of law' during a crisis. Especially, when a crisis is the only way they get to run the country. That's why Abhisit refers to the coup as a 'military intervention'. It sounds so legal!

The Red Shirts had brought the capital to a standstill for weeks... grenades had been fired from within their area, the protesters on the outer edges of the protest had become increasingly violent and provocative. Red Shirt leaders were advocating burning down the capital - in no uncertain terms. It was madness, if you recall. The protesters made it clear that they they weren't leaving until the government stepped down (alongside a load of other ridiculous demands). A mob that in no way represented the majority (most of them fueled to a large degree by disinformation), was holding the whole country to ransom to demand "democracy" (their own unique form of it). Meanwhile, the pusillanimous egomaniac in Dubai was ranting like he was the keynote speaker at Nuremberg.

So my question is: If you were Prime minister in this situation, what exactly would you have done about it?

That's the point - he shouldn't have been PM - he was only there because of the coup process (military then judicial coups)

Both Abhisit & the redshirts knew that.

If Abhisit really believed in democracy he wouldn't have taken the position that was handed to him, or at the very least he should have gone to the electorate immediately to prove his legitimacy.

Redshirts were protesting about the injustice of how Abhisit was installed as PM, and the Thai people eventually proved that Abhisit was an illegitimate PM, as evidenced by the overwhelming result once the election was finally held.

Where did the information about Abhisit to be PM you get from?

The fact that he was elected to be a PM by a majority of members of the House of Representative (he won against Pracha Promnok) same as Somchai, Samak and the current PM. And this is the way to be the PM in Thailand.

  5. Why doesnt Thaksin simply come back and face Thai Justice... After all, it is his country....

Then serve his jail term as per Thai rule or fight the system as per Thai Law....

However, the problem he may encounter, is that Thai law, customs and rules are not exactly devoid of injustice or set for the 21st century in its idealism....

Ask any farang that lives here... smile.png

Because if he serves his jail term, the way to be the PM again will be closed completely.

  6. TS was instrumental in getting phase 1 done before schedule and planning for phase 2 was already done in his time. The coup brought everything to a stand still and with the lame Dems in power nothing happened. I don't like TS but atleast things got done.

The original plan for phase 1 of Suvarnabhumi Airport was the capacity of 60 million passengers, if TS didn't eliminate it and chose to construct only 45 million passengers in capacity for PR purpose.

  7. I use online banking of bangkok bank. They send OTP to every transection to other bank accounts via PC or notebook but for transferring money to another bangkok bank's account, it need only 1 time OTP when added the account.

  8. Privatization of the SRT(State Railway of Thailand) would reduce the bloodletting of the government's coffers and modernize the rail transport system. Highways are a disgrace due to substandard roads being built/rebuilt/and then some and because trucks are not being severely and consistently enough for being overloaded. Privatize selected highways throughout the country and collect tolls to maintain them.

Please note that said sub standard roads were the result of the totally corrupt "dust free roads" project, just one of the many projects undertaken during the short life of the previous governments 1.43 Trillion baht "Investing from strength to strength" loan back in 2009.

It seems like you are the one of propaganda victim. The fact is the previous government loaned not over 400 billion baht.

  9. Ms Paywee was flying to Bangkok with Thai Airways, and then from Bangkok to Liberia with Kenya Airways. The Thai Airways check-in clerk told Ms Paywee that under Kenya Airways rules, passengers were only permitted a baggage allowance of 40kg and if a passenger did not appear confined to their wheelchair it counted as part of their baggage allowance.

I wondered how much she bring the belonging, if it excessed the limit of 40 kg including wheelchair (or may be around 30 kg without wheelchair).

  10. OK serious request. Can someone give a step by step guide to using the bum gun on a western toilett. I've always avoided it because the whole procedure seemed too messy and complicated (water getting everywhere, mopping up operation etc).

A Dummie's Guide to the Bum Gun if you will. I'm sure it can be done without being too graphic!

Just using it while you're still sitting on the toilet. Problem solved.

Ex. To use at the back, slide you body a bit front and use it at the back.

  11. Get a taxi, its not that expensive, less hassle, when you leave the airport, go up stairs and get a taxi that's just dropping some one off, ask them to take you , But make certain they have a meter, no meter don't take it get one that has a meter. If the driver is good i just tip him at the end of my ride.

If you take the taxi directly to hua hin from BKK, it will be fixed price.

5 chillie 2 garlic broken up in kok

fry chilli and garlic in hot oil ( sneeze and cough )

add chicken cook for a while then add sliced long bean

add about 1 tsp of oyster sauce, splash of nam pla about 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp of chicken flavour

add water the kok to rinse out chilli and add to the wok

continue to cook until chicken done

turn of heat and add kapow leaves mixing until wilted

chicken should be thin sliced so cooks quickly

total time to cook about 5 mins

I don't know why your wife teached you to add the sliced long bean and chicken flavour because these are not necessary for cooking kaprow.

    What!! No MSG??

This recipe don't need MSG or chicken flavour. Soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar and a little bit fish sauce is enough for me.
