    Interesting, isn't.

FYI, my Yellow tambien ban starts with a #6, but this seems to apply to "illegal immigrants or people who are in Thailand on a temporary basis," about what is written on the document.

  3. Chompuu can either be pink (ชมพู) or rose apple (ชมพู่). First syllable mid-tone in both words; second syllable mid and high respectively.

Farang (ฝรั่ง) can either mean an occidental or guava - both pronounced the same way.

When she says "Chompoo is the equivalent of Farang" she might mean in the sense that they are both fruits.

In some parts of southern Thailand, they call guava (ฝรั่ง) as chompoo (ชมพู่).

  4. The kind of pudding, sold in square tin boxes on the trains and along the road BKK-Surat, I cannot remember the name

I think it is khanom Morkaeng, the famous khanom of Phetchaburi province.

Yes I do love lychees and always will, but yes, a very short season. I was one of those love durian on first smell and taste, but it is really a rich high fat food. I find it weird that even though I still feel like I like it, I don't bother buying it anymore.

What is snake fruit ? Thought I had been around a while but never heard of this one

    It is ra-gahm (ระกำ).

  8. I'm new this forum and I'm not sure of what I'm doing. I am in Arizona, USA and getting ready to plant some tropical fruit. One of my most wanted and best remembered is a green mango that I had when I was in Thailand in the 1970s. It was not sour! It was green with almost white flesh, very slight yellow tinted. The flavor was lightly mango and mildly sweet. I was all over Thailand and remember being able to get them everywhere. Does this sound like and variety that you know of. I have been all over the internet and have come up with three types (Okrung, Kheio Savoy (Keo Sevoy, Kyo Savoy), Brahm Kai Meu) but I can't find enough information to know which one if any is the one I want. I only have room in my yard to plant one tree so I need to get it right. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.

    Thanks and God Bless

    Umpah :)

I think Kheio Savoy (เขียวเสวย) is the type you are looking for.

  9. Have you sent the email to Siemens IT Solutions (SIS) Thailand? This company hires many expats and parent company is German company, so your German is advantage. Note that I'm not sure it still uses HR of Siemens Limited Thailand (SLT) or not because it just was separated from SLT this fiscal year.
