I do some work for a property evaluation company and earlier this year all the evaluators in the company agreed that there was a glut of overpriced condos.
They predictec that at the end of this year or early next year the bubble would burst.
Many of the presales for new condos are to the same few investors and now these investors aren't able to rent them out or sell them.

Great!
How about having wheelchair friendly bus drivers too. Only yesterday mdid I see a blind man trying to get on the bus. He was about a metre behind the door and slowly tried to feel his way to the door but the driver didn't have the patience to wait. He just sped off.

Its not strange at all - Phuket Immigration clearly targeting only non Asian foreigners so anyone looking like he was will instantly draw attention to himself.
Yes what about the 1000's of Burmese that are here, do they all have Visas! Remember what TAT says this is Amazing Thailand.
No they don't have visas, Neither do they have money to pay
offfines. So they are not so interesting to arrest.- 1

Either he had to face really stupid guys asking 1 million baht as if it grows on the trees, no guys , not everybody in Europe have 1 million in the bank ..specially in Ukraine . either there is something else .....
You are right that not every one has so much money in the bank but a lot of Thais seem to think that they do (and I don't just mean girls).

Well there's certainly something wrong today.
I can't open Gmail (it's been trying to open for 5 minutes now)
A local speedtest shows 30 Mbps but when I try with a server in the USa it shows about 3 Mbps and in fact is still running after 5 minutes

As a person who doesn't really care about soccer at all, I have to say that competition is such a beautiful thing.
True Visions was a cashcow for True for so long until now that someone decided to tackle them head-on. If not because of CTH, True Visions would probably never bother to think about adding HD channels or thinking of adding some better channels like Life Inspired and LifeTime.
Also, addition of tennis, rugby, and ASN HD are very welcome by me
And for those who are wondering about what Thais are doing? Well, a lot of my friends now subscribe to 4 True Visions boxes but split the boxes amongst friends. As long as you are using True Online internet on cable, you can just simply plug in these boxes and they just work.
The idea with four boxes works well. We have full Platinum package for about 800 Baht a month.

>Ok, found a website advertising 3 years full package. Pay 2 years get one free. This works out at 340 baht per month.
>Now watching CTH tv.
Care to share this web site? Cheapest I can find is 599THB.

The guy who installed ours is Krit Suansiam.
The price has already gone up but I don't know by how much.

I dumped TrueVisions and got CTH. Not having an extensive choice - for my taste - of English spoken programs is sometimes a blessing: No TV can be a welcome experience.
Sky News was a revelation: how to present news in an attractive way. All EPL matches in HD is also great, but I miss tennis.
CTH workdwith subcontractors and that is I think the reason why the 'end bill' is different between different locations. I did not have to pay installation, but had to pay VAT on the contract, but not on the deposit. Local subcontractor is also Thai only.
Yes it was a subcontractor supplying the box.
We paid for 2 years and got one free. That was the promotion.
SD pictures are of much better quality than True but.... I feel that the aspect ratio is wrong. The picture seems to be zoomed. I have tried adjusting but it doesn't seem to work. It's not a big problem but just seems different.

11-o-clock this morning we discussed whether to have CTH or not. We already have True cable and Vinasat satellite but we miss premier league.
Ok, found a website advertising 3 years full package. Pay 2 years get one free. This works out at 340 baht per month.
Called the installation guy at about 3 pm and ordered CTH. He came at 8 pm and took about an hour to install as we have a complicated set up. He then spent an hour telling us how to use the box and talking about satellite tv in general. Really nice and friendly guy. Installation fee 1200 Baht.
Now watching CTH tv.

Mr. Akanit Lkangsaeng, deputy secretary of the VEC, said that the VEC submitted warning to vocational colleges to make it clear to the students that protesting is allowed by the Constitution, but claiming to represent their colleges would harm the reputation of those institutions.
Damage the reputation of those institutions??????
What does the following do?
3 Arrested Over Deadly Stabbing Of Rival Student
By Khaosod OnlineBANGKOK: -- Police have arrested 3 polytechnic students in connection with the murder of an 18-year old vocational student from a rival college in western Bangkok.

A senior Thong Lor police officer, Pol Lt Colonel Pannaphol Nammueng, who is the immediate boss of victim Pol Snr Sgt Major Wichean Klinprasert, has been transferred to an inactive position for 30 days by an angry Pol Lt General Khamronwit Thoopkrajang. Khamronwit announced he would quit his position as commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau if he could not bring to justice the driver responsible for the death of Wichean, 48.
So, the headline next week:
"Pol Lt General Khamronwit Thoopkrajang. Khamronwit resigns"

Has everybody forgot that he was high on cocaine that night?? What happened to that charge??
Yes, they have. Thai style.
Go abroad for a few months, sneak back in and all is forgotten.

Soros had nothing to do with 1997:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Soros_conspiracy_theories
And to compare Brazil's economy against Thailand's is a bit far fetched don't you think Nation!
Try telling that to the majority of Thais.
Only last week was I talking to a group of Thais who still blame Soros for the economic collapse.

Yep my mental health when some idiot is walking down the stairs on the bts or getting on a train on the bts unable to stop blooming looking at their phone and expects everyone else to wait for them.
.....or bumping into you when they are walking without looking where they are going.
I can't understand that people abolutely MUST be on Line and Facebook 100% of the time. Some are completely unaware of the world around them.
I use both Facebook and Line on my phone but never when walking and I limit myself to quick messages 3 or 4 times a day.
Thaivisa on the other hand ......

I've noticed that Thais are very quick to shout out what they will do but nothing never happens.

"manhunt". I am sure they can find these guys just like that if they want.
The cops who are looking for them have probably worked together with them for years and know details of their private lives, friends, haunts and so on.

It's funny that this topic should suddenly turn up. Only last week was I talking to a group of Thai people about Carlsberg and big hotel chains.
They were telling me that "Thai businessmen are very clever and ruthless". They invite foreign companies in as partners and learn as much as they can from them and when they have learnt enough they force some kind of break up. After that they start their own business in the same lines.
I hope that VW stay well clear of Thailand.

15 hours is ample time to learn English!!
Last week I was asked to teach some Thais to speak basic English in four hours.
About 90 government officials are going to travel abroad (sorry don't know where) and they asked me to do a four hour (yes -four!!!) course to teach them basic conversation.
The money they offered was really good but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

saying other countries in the region are having the same economic problems as Thailand.
She's just been to Kazakhstan and Pakistan (or wherever) so she knows all about other countries in the region.

Is there something wrong with him mentally? He looks like an imbecile.
I have heard a rumour from people who would know, that he is on the autistic spectrum. Would never be admitted here of course
Yes, I agree he looks a little weird on the photo.

Television images showed politicians surrounded by police and grappling with them as they were marched towards the exit of the chamber, while screams were heard in the background
Nipit, who said there were some 100 police in parliament at the time
Ah democracy and free speech in action, why 100 police in parliament chamber at the time.....Yingluks stormtrooper in action
Why do I have a sad feeling Thailand headed towards another round of violence in the streets
I am not sure you are right.
I have just spoken to a couple of "hard core" democrats and they admit it's all over. They say this government already has complete control over the police and military and that all demonstrations will be stopped at the start as we have already seen.
The only thing to do is wait/. "Wait 20 or more years until the country has been raped and destroyed" - their own words..
I hope they are wrong but I certainly don't want to see violence and bloodshed again. I think we are in ffor some dark times one way or another.
