  1. If the police want to "hide something" would it not be easier to just turn those cameras off, rather than going to the effort of physically covering them.

It seems more likely this is a scare tactic

Just had a talk with a former "hard core " red shirt.

Basically she said that Yingluck has invoked the ISA because if any deaths occur in that area she cannot be held responsible.

The cctv cameras are obviously being covered so that there is no proof of wrong doing. In other words the government will deny any claims of violence started by the police.

These are her words not mine, but I for once in my life tend to agree with her.

That can't be right. Abhisit and Suthep have been charged with murder, even though there was an ISA in force. Can't be having double standards now, can we?

That was exactly what I said but her reply was that the democrats were wrong to enter government buildings.

I asked about the red shirts at Ratchaprasong... "oh that was a peaceful demonstration on the streets and Abhisit gave orders to kill them."

You just can't argue with some Thais, they can twist the facts to suit themselves..

  2. I think this is common sense for those of us who live in Bangkok, but first time tourists may not be aware of the traffic jams that can suddenly start in Bangkok.

I have traveled to the airport on "peak travel days" (start of long holidays etc.) and have seen the enormous traffic jams (and consequent accidents that make things worse.) , so I always leave earlier than normal and arrive in good time.

  4. It was on Thai television 30 minutes ago.

I am using mobile so I didn't get the quotes in.

I was referring to the posting about nails and spikes on the road. I saw it on Thai tv at 11.30

  5. Just spoke to my friend and she confirmed that it is the bridge at Nang Lern intersection and that this has been used a lot in the past by Chamlong (?) . Sorry I am useless at all the Thai names.

She said that the police have but up concrete barriers making it very difficult for her to get to her house.

At the end of the conversation she told me that there are strong rumours that the police will use teargas soon and that anyone going to the protest should take towels and water.

  6. My friend has just passed Tevagam (Spelling??) Bridge and she claims that the students have just taken this bridge. (About 19.15)

    "Taken"?

Anyway, sounds like Uthai is doing the right thing and if the students can't accept that, it's in the best interests of everyone if they leave the protest.

They have blocked the bridge. Maybe not "taken".

  7. I have three gmail accounts but my browser now remembers the last login. No matter which account I try to log in to I always get the saved version. I've tried adding all three accounts to my browser but Dash Line just can't handle this anymore.

I have three PayPal accounts and when I login with LastPass the same will occur whereby my browser will remember the last login username and password.

With LastPass there will be a small icon with '3' to the right-hand side of the stored username. I simply click the number '3' which activates a dropdown with all three accounts and I can choose which account I require.

Is there a similar icon with Dashlane?

Yes there is. In fact there are two icons: one for each login, but no matter which account I try to log in to, I get directed to last logged in.

  8. I have just read an article about Thaksin talking of a "shining new age".

I daren't post the link on here, as it is a sensitive matter, but search Google and there are many links.

He is definitely planning a come back.If the mods want to remove this posting then please do so.

    Edit:

Someone told me it was news but now I have seen the date.... November 2009. Sorry.

  9. This may be a little off topic but on the other hand some of you could use the information if you are still deciding which password manager to use.

    Does anyone use Dash Lane?

I have been using it for sometime now without problems and recently decided to go for the paid version. A few days later Google changed their opening page for gmail (or Google accounts). I have three gmail accounts but my browser now remembers the last login. No matter which account I try to log in to I always get the saved version. I've tried adding all three accounts to my browser but Dash Line just can't handle this anymore.

    Anyone else have this problem?

I know I can forward all emails to one account (and I do that) but I also want to keep them separate and access each account.

  10. I wanted touch screen, therefore no blackberry for me.

I don't remember exactly what apple censors (I read about it somewhere on the internet), and now I found out that some pics in gay dating apps are censored on my IQ6 with android as well. But the mere idea that something is censored on a Apple device that is not censored on another device is enough to confirm my rejection of Apple's products.

You obviously didn't check it out.

    The Blackberry Z10 IS a touchscreen. smile.png

    ..... but I wouldn't buy a Blackberry right now.
