huh! I'll give them 0 for lighting. Our street lights work 2 weeks , don't work 6 or 7 weeks, work 1 week, don't work 6 -7 weeks. We have complained, the neighbours have complained but nothing helps. As there is no footpath and it is a very busy road, I have now bought a powerful LED torch and shine at the traffic. I have cars stop and ask me what's wrong, so I tell them I am afraid of being hit.

Travel Fake TDAC Website Emerges as New System Debuts in Thailand
petedk replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
As someone said it isn't fake or a scam as it clearly(?) states that it is a third party site. I remember when I tried to do my TM30 for the first time I was met with a similar site. There the fact that it was a third party was quite cleverly hidden. As with many official sites, there are commercial sites that pay Google for their site to be advertise and they often come before the main official site. -

Accident Retired Police Figure from 'Boss' Case in New Hit-and-Run Controversy
petedk replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Was it his home where he stopped? There are so many cases in Thailand of "fleeing the scene" and this should automatically be heavily punished. -
I don't think this is suspicious. It was only a few weeks ago that she claimed she had been in an accident and would die within 3 days. The picture of her wearing earings in hospital and the statement from the driver of the other vehicle seemed to suggest she was faking it. She most likely had some serious mental issues.

instructionsfor doing 90 day online
petedk replied to john smith's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I went abroad last February and did my first 90 report in person as we should. I then tried to do the next report online but it was rejected, so I ended up going to Chaeng Wattana again. The third time, I tried twice but the application was rejected each time within minutes of submitting and in the email I only had this reason Name Peter xxx Passport Number: 12345687 Nationality. GBR British as I had entered, so I looked at the slip in my passport and to my surprise my nationality was given as GBN British Overseas National. This was the information entered by the officer at Chaeng Wattana, so I tried again using GBN. There were about 4 different codes for Great Britain anyway, Hey Presto! It was accepted. So I enetered GBN the following application. Great! Accepted again. Last week I went to do the online application and guess what, they have updated the system so now there is only one possible British Nationality and that is GBR, so Itried that. Of course this has now been rejected 3 times within minutes of each application. Through no fault of my own I now have to go to CW again! -
Not for foreigners. I have one for MRT where I get 50% discount, but BTS refuse to allow foreigners to have these cards. I hardly ever use BTS nowadays, but use MRT regularly, so I am not reeally bothered by it. I hate it though when my American friends (Thai heritage) come here on vacation and get all the Thai discounts and priveleges even though they can't speak Thai, but hey, my skin is white whereas theirs is darker.

I tried that with the "elder card", but apparently the lamp on the entrance gate lights up in different comours according to the ticket. I was stopped and the security card confiscated my card I had just added 500 baht), so I asked for a refund. "No, you steal from BTS. You have big problem.", even though I spoke Thai to them. Anyway, it ended with me buying a new Rabbit card.

From what I gather it isn't "Thai residents", but Thai people and it isn't "tourists", but "foreigners."

Google is not a native speaker of English. Do you pronounce the "t" in "water" and "butter"? I didn't when I was young because that was the dialect I was brought up in. Later, I moved to the south east of England and friends at school and people all around me kept correcting my grammar and pronunciation. There is no one correct native English pronunciation as there are hundreds of dialects and to be fair they are all correct. Oh, I pronounce the "T" in often.

The way the bus slowly veered off the road is almost like the bus driver had fallen asleep. I was once on a bus from Pattaya and I noticed the bus was slowly slowing down and changing lanes and when I looked up in the driver's mirror I could see his eyes were closed. I clapped my hands hard and shouted and he woke up, straightened the bus up and carried on. I made several loud coughs and sneezes on the rest of the journey. I never travel by bus nowadays. Nice to know that no one was killed in this accident and I hope that the injured recover quickly.
