  1. Following from the above post, an article from RBC-Ukraine stating: "Sources told RBC-Ukraine that the attack on the warehouse was a special operation of Ukrainian defenders, involving the Security Service of Ukraine, Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Special Operations Forces. It is confirmed that the attack targeted the warehouse of the Missile and Artillery Department, where the Russians stored missiles for Iskander tactical systems, KN23 ballistic missiles, missiles for Tochka-U tactical missile systems, guided aerial bombs, S-300s, and artillery ammunition. According to sources, more than a hundred attack drones were involved". Russia claims that 54 drones were "destroyed". Possibly when they hit their targets and exploded. 2. Another video on the Toropets missile/ammo arsenal strike showing the facility still burning with the plume of smoke visible from space. The main reason I'm posting it, though, is the news conference given by the regional governor, where he says the Russians shot down some drones and the debris started a fire that's being dealt with. All the while with the repeated sounds of explosions in the background. Nothing to see here! Baghdad Bob, meet Toropets Tom. Also a still from the video showing a press release from 2018 when this facility was built to "the highest world standards", highlighting how well it will "ensure their (missile and ammunition) safety and explosion and fire safety". The Russians must be terrified and furious in equal measures. While the video commentator does speculate whether a missile was involved in the attack, mainly because of the purported strength of the shielding around the missiles stored here, other sources have said over 100 attack drones were used in the operation.
  3. But the visitors are almost exclusively Slavic Russians, from the richer parts of the country, whereas the conscripts tend to be "selected" from other ethnic groups in poorer regions. If Putin changes policy and starts taking Moscow and St Petersburg residents as conscripts then we could well see a big increase in visitors, along with a big turn against him in those cities, otherwise it will be business as usual; Conscript the poor and powerless to feed the cannons while the Muscovites who haven't already left pretend the war isn't happening.
