  1. Excellent. You have finally defined what you mean as wealthy. Thanks.
  2. OK. I'll accept that 2 EU nationals were forced to leave. Do you know why they had to leave?
  3. NO . I said those with out an excuse. If you'd like to re read my comment I excluded those with a disability then means they can work.
  4. OK. Good. I was confused with the comments about pensioners. Those people were not in my mind.
  5. Oh. Dear. Not quite sure what that was about. You clearly misread my post.
  6. Not difficult. Just stop benefits for those with no excuse, ie disability, for unemployment and get them to work.
  7. If you mean a "town's population",I totally agree. I've never said they do.
  8. I've been there several times. It is quite spread out when compared to other places with larger populations. Agreed the area around the bus station is small but it does continue quite a bit further. The journey heading north from Kamalasai becomes more built up each time i go there. As do the journeys out to Somdet and Yang Talat. My point to the poster who quoted a population of 35k to say it was small is, that figure is 7 years old and only covers Tambon Kalasin, not Muang Kalasin. He' d also previously said "kalasin, no idea". Having some local knowledge is one thing, being able to use Wiki is,another.
  9. How do you know it's a small town? Other than using a population census from 2015
  10. Not at all. Most people I know pay around the same. For a car that is, the topic of this thread.
  11. Doesn't really help with the conversation. I was trying to work out how you can save 100k on 4 policies when my policy is only 15k.
  12. Really? What cars are they? I bought a brand new Mazda BT50. No named drivers. Anyone could drive it. First year paid for by the dealer. Second year was under 15k. In order for you to be saving 100k per year, your initial premiums must be sky high.
  13. Excellent answer. Straight out of the opposition's book of "how to avoid giving a straight answer". Let's criticise everything and everyone but give no alternatives.
  14. The question was "Who WOULD you have supported?". Not "Who DID you support?". Let's make it a bit more simple for you. When the half a dozen or so candidates were announced, at that time even though you are not a Conservative party member and even though you had no say, who did you think might do the job better than others. Now, before you reply that you can't as you are not this or not that or don't have this or that, remember that even though you don't, you still feel qualified to state opinions on Boris and Liz. Answer........
  15. You are making that up. There will be caps but not for everyone. There will be means tests done. You are making that up too. No decision has been made.
  16. There are a lot of generalisations in your post. Not all teachers wish to teach "where the action is". Therefore, schools do not know this. Agencies are not a bad thing. There are 2 very good agencies that operate in Isaan. Lesson plans provided, test papers provided, co ordinators on site at all times, rising salaries (40k possible within 2 years), visa, extension and work permit sorted and paid for. 30k is not old news everywhere in Isaan. Most schools outside of the larger towns will not be able to afford anymore. 40k is doable, as explained above and as you seem to be earning, but not a given. Especially for a new guy in a new job. Not all towns in Isaan can offer jobs where some sort of transportation is not required. Whether it is a bus, train, motorcycle, taxi, tuk tuk or car. There is a lot of difference in each province. Town centre of Khon Kaen is a lot different to the next district even though it could only be 10kms down the road. Admins of schools also vary. I've been in BKK and worked for very good schools with good admin departments. I've also worked in Isaan towns where the admin are sh%$ and do give much notice to foreign staff. You seem to have a good job and one that gives you what you need. That does not, however, mean that it is the same everywhere else. Cost of living??? Varies also.
  17. Sadly, Thai families tend not to acknowledge their children have learning difficulties. I taught in Thai schools for over 20 years. Many times I witnessed students struggling in their studies. I believe some were Autistic, some Dislexic and others mentally retarded. I tried many times to get something done about it. These kids were left to study in regular classes. I asked if teachers could inform the parents of the issues but nothing ever happened. It was best if the school did not rock the boat. There was one example where the father was an expat. He tried to explain that his son was not slow or lazy but was dislexic. The school teachers and the head basically laughed him out of the office.
  18. Oh dear. Selective reading or twisting others comments? You talked about sterling post Brexit. I said I acknowledged sterling had fallen on the announcement of the results of the referendum. So. A question. Was the referendum pre or post Brexit? Just to avoid confusing you, when I say "Brexit" I mean the day the UK officially left EU.
  19. Your original question was regarding the labour market in UK. I answered that using personal experiences.
  20. You mentioned Labour, not in reply to a deflection, first. A long way back on 28th September. You then wrote a long post comparing the leading parties in Parliament on 2nd October.
  21. Conversations. We are having conversations. Within conversations it's always better to show different options, ideas, possibilities and opinions. Some can open their minds to that. Some, as has been made apparent, cannot.
  22. Maybe not in your discussion. However, this is a public forum. Labour and elections have been mentioned several timed. Making them a valid point in this thread.
