ravip replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand News
So how many 100's or 1000's of buildings collapsed today, according to your statistics? OR, is this the ONLY building constructed by Thai people? Just asking, to share your expert knowledge.- 587 replies

German Tourist Severely Beaten in Pattaya by Group of 10 Men
ravip replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
It is incredible to hear how some foreigners live in Thailand for 30 - 40 years without any incident, whilst some come for less than 30 days and almost get murdered. Another bunch says Thais hate foreigners... really, where are we?- 247 replies

Israeli Tourist's Taxi 'Mishap' Resolved with 1,500 Baht in Pattaya
ravip replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
We cannot blame global politics entirely for the mean and nasty behavior of people. Parents been too busy to bring up their off spring, 'modern' psychology methods, mobile phones & the internet abuse etc. has a lot to do, I think. -
British Man Sparks Outrage in Thai Restaurant Incident
ravip replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
So some us get overly agitated when surrounded by non-Brits as it appears this lad has and it has set him off and he gave few of the non-Brits a bit of a spray. If so, he should have stayed in the UK. Coming to Thailand (or for that matter, any other country) and getting agitated when surrounded by non-Brits? Yikes, the man must be nuts! Such specimens that walk amongst us. He was extremely lucky that the non-Brits did not give him a bit of a spray! -
Israeli Tourist's Taxi 'Mishap' Resolved with 1,500 Baht in Pattaya

It really was an unfortunate incident. However, I think offering 300 B was an insult, which would have made the driver angry. If it happened to me, I would have offered 3000 B - IMHO -
Delaying Cataract Surgery - Any associated dangers?
ravip replied to ravip's topic in Health and Medicine
It seems the mono focal lenses are than the Multifocal and Extended Depth of Focus Lenses, if you are driving in the night. Anyone with first hand experience on this? - Mono focal lenses VS the Multifocal and Extended Depth of Focus IOL (intraocular) Lenses. -

Belgian MMA Fighter Tackles Indian Gang in Pattaya Brawl
ravip replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The value of discipline and training shone through, not only in physical defense but in the diplomacy demonstrated afterwards. One of the beauties in serious and professional martial arts training is that it always encourages defensive action, instead of attack. They also teach to use minimum force required - but, if the situation escalates... go for it! Stark contrast to the massive muscular demons, who we see in public places as if they own the entire vicinity! (ever realized that these two types of characters exist on online forums too?) -
Should cataract surgery be done immediately on diagnosis? Are there any 'stages' of cataracts and what are the time lines, if there are? Any information is much appreciated. Thank you.

Not only the seat belt chimes - ALL the alarms on the dashboard are annoying. Especially the Oil and the Temperature gauges. -

Iranian tourist goes crazy! Uses syringe to stab hotel staff in Phuket
ravip replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Actually, he said... Yet, when I read some of the posts on this forum which was originally designed to inform foreigners and make life easier for them to live here, I see many of the same people posting hateful and insulting comments about Thailand and Thai people. He was not referring to the Iranians behavior, but regarding the AN members comments. This I agree 100% with him - many foreigners living in Thailand keeps on bashing the Thai people & Thailand - yes, why not find a better place and move on? Just my honest opinion and how I understood the comment. -
