One of the most epic crash videos I've seen so far
I have clocked a good couple of hundred thousand km on roads here and I am used to seeing morons recklessly swerving between cars (the worst, in my experience, being the motorway between Bangkok and Pattaya), but as I stated above, this is above average, it's plain crazy, literally. It's not like there was an unexpected change to the environment, the SUV and the truck were consistently on their lanes and he still attempted the impossible without even braking. He was probably off his head on drugs, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was also addicted to video games (i.e. he forgot this was real life, not Need for Speed).

As much as I agree people drive terribly here, this is a couple of notches above average. If I had a guess, I would say he must have been sky-high on yaba to actually attempt to do that and expect it to work.

150 antisemites? Over 150 Jewish creatives sign open letter defending Jonathan Glazer for Oscars speech on Gaza “I signed this letter to help counter the climate of silencing that many workplaces and industries are facing around Israel’s war on Gaza, now entering its seventh month,” Ilana Glazer told Variety. “This controversy surrounding Jonathan Glazer is just one example.” Schamus added: “It has been weeks since Jonathan Glazer’s acceptance speech at the Academy Awards, but, as we’re reminded by this week’s unconscionable killing of seven World Center Kitchen aid workers — and of countless more Palestinian civilians — his plea for humanity has only become more urgent, as has our duty as Jewish creatives to protest the vicious smear campaign waged against him.” https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/jonathan-glazer-open-letter-oscars-speech-gaza-b2524348.html

Suvarnabhumi Airport touchdown 6am, what time will the passenger walk out to the public?
It takes about 1h15 - 1h30 from announced landing time. If the announced landing time is 6, I would arrive there at 7:00 and they should be there by 7:15-7:30 if nothing delays them.

They are required by law to periodically ask those questions and have been doing it for years.

Road accident scenario, what would happen?
Yes, but unfortunately that is what they do and they will keep on doing it, so we have to adapt to it and anticipate what they do, in lots of cases I will be looking at the rearview mirror as much as the road itself. Dan O's story is a perfect example of the mentality here in this respect. They can't drive but they think that "farang mai roo ruang" (farangs don't have a clue) and in case of a road accident they are preprogrammed to blame it on us. All we can do is perfect the art of defensive driving, know them and know what they are going to do before they do it, and as stated before, have cameras and a top insurance that will cover us in the unfortunate case it should happen.

RFK Jr. argues that Biden is a bigger threat to democracy than Trump
Also nothing democratic about dumping ballots at 3 am until you get the desired election result.

Foodbanks UK Versus Thailand
European countries are going through catastrophic decline. It seems that several retired people on this forum don't realise it as they have been away from the reality of these countries for too long, but I definitely agree with your stance. My source is UN agency ReliefWeb, and I think it is pretty clear who is disgusting here.

Road accident scenario, what would happen?
I recently saw a guy with a GoPro at the back of his bicycle, beneath the saddle, and one on his helmet. It didn't seem that cumbersome. I actually thought that I should do that on my motorbike. All the bike dashcams I see have cables running along the body of the bike, which puts me off, so despite my advice above I actually currently ride without a camera - if people on this thread know of a good brand, I would be interested.

Road accident scenario, what would happen?
Potentially very dire situation, especially with an injured kid involved, the chances are high that it will be the farang's fault, period. The solution? To begin with, front and rear cameras (even on a bicycle) and an insurance such as AXA which are used to dealing with foreigners and have contractual clauses for bailing them out/defending them.

The stance of Israeli-based and openly pro-Israeli organisation NGO Monitor is duly noted. Now a more neutral presentation: The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor is a youth-led independent, nonprofit organization that advocates for the human rights of all persons across Europe and the MENA region, particularly those who live under occupation, in the throes of war or political unrest and/ or have been displaced due to persecution or armed conflict. https://reliefweb.int/organization/euro-med-monitor

1 April 2024: Al-Shifa Medical Complex witnesses one of the largest massacres in Palestinian history Palestinian Territory - The Israeli army carried out a massive, shockingly horrific military operation in Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City over the course of the past two weeks, indiscriminately targeting and attacking Palestinians regardless of their civilian status, professional standing, gender, age, or health condition. [...] The massacre claimed the lives of at least 22 patients who were killed in their hospital beds during the Israeli siege of the Medical Complex, amid the willful deprivation of their access to food, medical care, and supplies. Israel’s army also purposefully prevented relief teams and representatives of international organisations from entering Al-Shifa to carry out humanitarian missions or evacuations, plus purposefully cleared the Complex of all working personnel—particularly medical personnel—either by summary execution or forced displacement or arrest. https://reliefweb.int/report/occupied-palestinian-territory/al-shifa-medical-complex-witnesses-one-largest-massacres-palestinian-history-enar

No, my claim was "The point I am making is that the general opinion on this issue is shifting and Israel's supporters are damaging their image and therefore their cause by so steadfastly refusing to take a step back on this issue." For the third time in this thread, your position is intenable.

My bad about the paywall. The WP article I posted is free, I checked before posting it. The only one derailing the topic is you, by systematically posting pro-Israeli content. Until you do with credible links that prove its "widely disapproved" I will leave you alone, its the same as talking to a brick wall and derails the topic. I have posted loads, here is yet another one from the NYT. Or is that not a credible source anymore? A majority of Americans disapprove of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, in a pronounced shift from November, according to a new poll released by Gallup on Wednesday. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/27/world/middleeast/military-action-americans-gaza.html

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
I see this article is from last October. The point I am making is that the general opinion on this issue is shifting and Israel's supporters are damaging their image and therefore their cause by so steadfastly refusing to take a step back on this issue. You are entitled to disagree, but you are not helping your relevance by systematically turning this into a contentious argument.

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
Lots of people care, which is why it is the topic of articles by various outlets such as Newsweek and The Washington Post, which I posted here. I also quoted veteran State Department official Josh Paul, who resigned because of this issue, and I could quote lots more but you would still refuse to hear or acknowledge it.

Last week, the State Department authorized the transfer of 25 F-35A fighter jets and engines worth roughly $2.5 billion, U.S. officials said. The case was approved by Congress in 2008, so the department was not required to provide a new notification to lawmakers. The MK84 and MK82 bombs authorized this week for transfer also were approved by Congress years ago but had not yet been fulfilled. https://www.newsweek.com/us-congressman-blasts-netanyahu-maniac-1885352

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)
It was approved by Congress in 2008, so the State Department was not required to get new approval or re-notify lawmakers. That is the whole point of congressman Bowman's stance, in the current context this is widely disapproved. U.S. signs off on more bombs, warplanes for Israel Some Democrats, including allies of President Biden, say the U.S. government has a responsibility to withhold weapons in the absence of an Israeli commitment to limit civilian casualties during a planned operation in Rafah, a final Hamas stronghold, and ease restrictions on humanitarian aid into the enclave, which is on the brink of famine. [...] Washington’s marginalization on the world stage over its support for Israel has rankled some Democrats in Congress, some of whom have called for more transparency in arms transfers and raised questions about whether the authorization of older unfilled cases is an effort to avoid new notifications to Congress, which could face scrutiny. [...] Biden’s recurring approvals of weapons transfers are an “abrogation of moral responsibility, and an assault on the rule of law as we know it, at both the domestic and international levels,” said Josh Paul, a former State Department official involved in arms transfers who resigned in protest of Biden’s Gaza policy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/03/29/us-weapons-israel-gaza-war/

Yes, the Biden administration is going all in despite increasing overall disapproval, that was the point of my first post today, about them sending those weapons.

The stance of the AIPAC, an influential pro-Israeli lobby, is not surprising. What is notable, however, is the growing lack of support within the political apparatus. For example, Democrat congressman Jamaal Bowman was on MSNBC last Saturday, regarding this arms delivery issue: US Congressman Blasts Netanyahu: 'Maniac' "We need a permanent ceasefire, we need to bring in hundreds of trucks that are five miles away from Gaza right now of aid to save as many lives as possible. There's a humanitarian crisis. The majority of Gaza has already been destroyed through act of collective punishment by this maniac Benjamin Netanyahu." https://www.newsweek.com/us-congressman-blasts-netanyahu-maniac-1885352

Tens of thousands of Israeli protesters call for Netanyahu’s removal Thousands of people gathered in front of the Knesset in Jerusalem on Sunday to protest against the government and call for Netanyahu’s removal as prime minister. [...] Naama Lazimi, a member of the Knesset (MK) for the centre-left Labor party who was at the demonstration, said people had come out to protest because they recognised that the government was failing. “The people of Israel were deep in sorrow and pain after 7 October, that is why it took so long, but when they understood there is no other option, this government is not functioning and is hurting us economically, diplomatically, in our security and in our values […] that is why people are out,” she said. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/mar/31/israeli-protesters-call-benjamin-netanyahu-removal
