  1. "You are not going to take the piss out of this football club and you are not going to take the piss out of this city." With these words Alan Shearer addressed a small gathering of malingering Newcastle United players one morning last week at the club's Benton training ground.

About time someone told the useless nightclubbing fcukers.

Bang on Shearer, i still feel for your Club though to be honest..

Newcastle United....about as much chance of staying up as an erection in Susan Boyles bedroom .. :)

People can say what you want about the English but no person from any other nation could come out with a line like that ... classic!

  2. This is VERY GOOD NEWS...for a change

How English fooball, at international level, could do with a Gazza now.

St Alex Ferguson has said one of his great regrets was not having Gazza at United. He thought he had him but Gazza went elsewhere. Maybe Fergusons renowned man management skills might just have saved him from self destruction.

Possibly he's have stoof more chance, Terry Venables was certainly the worst manager for him, it always seemed to me like he was like Chris Evans and the gang who wanted to hang off Gazza's coattails.

  3. only at an airport wil you get 30 days when you cross the order.

Best option for you seems to be going to Viantianne, Laos and ask for a double entry visa. Thsi will give you 2 times 60 days, and each 60 day can be etended by 30 days.

In case you do get the job it will be possible to onvert from a touist visa to a non-immigrant B visa, for which you need at least 21 days left on your permission to stay. If you don't get the job you will be good till you go home.

Tourist visas are free until June 4th. Extensions are not free and cost 1,900 baht

Cheers for the info, can you confirm the place where i can get a 7 day extension and can it be done this coming Monday ie on the day my 30 days expires.

I may go to Pattaya to get this done as the interviews in Rayong on Wednesday.

  4. Im wondering if someone can recommend an eye hospital or eye doctor in BKK.

Ive had my left eye removed a few years ago and use an artificial one, however i have an infection in it, so i took Chloroamphenical which i had my second allergic reaction too so emailed my eye specialist in the UK, she told me to try Fucithalmic i went out and bought this yesterday but have woken up with huge swelling all round my eye hence im obviously allergic to this.

I have a coral impant to sit my false eye on, it was a fairly specialist operation hence you can see my need for seeing a upto date trained eye doctor.

I have done google searches and can find a few hospitals but am wondering if anyone has seen a dcent doc, as my trust in docs when it comes to this eye isnt the best.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

  5. You get 15 days doing a border run, but as it includes the last day of your existing permission to stay, it is effectively an extra 14 days.

Do you have a tourist visa or did you get 30 days on arrival without a visa?

Sorry i got 30 days on arrival without a visa.

Basically ive a job interview in Rayong on the 13th May where if i get the job the company will be getting me a work visa, but if i dont get it i have no need to go back to England until July 1st, hence its about 7 weeks.

Flying to Phnom Penh seems extravagent for 30 days, is there no border that will issue 30 days.

Pity as i'm a self rated quality tourist.

  6. No worries son you're not needed for England.

The Aston Villa striker reported back in early July last summer for the Intertoto Cup and could be involved with the England Under-21s right through to the end of this June. Two years ago Agbonlahor angered Under-21 coach Stuart Pearce when he missed out on the 2007 finals after being uncontactable following another long campaign.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill will carefully monitor the situation that could also apply to winger James Milner if he is part of Pearce's squad.

Agbonlahor said: "Am I worried about burn out by playing in the European Championships? That is a major worry but it is out of our hands.

"If we have to go and play there, we have to go and play and then see what time we will get off after the tournament.

"It means some of us will have played virtually 12 months football with the European Championships not ending until the end of June.

"It's been a long season with starting early (for the Intertoto Cup). Then I think next season starts a bit earlier because it is World Cup year.

"You do get worried but we are young players and, if you look at players like Steven Gerrard and others, they have done it so you can't complain."

Agbonlahor has urged Villa to end the season on a high and guarantee fifth spot in the Barclays Premier League after defeating Hull on Monday to end a 12 game sequence without a win.

O'Neill's side are now assured of a Europa League spot.

Agbonlahor said: "Achieving a European spot was the least we wanted. Now we want to go on and win every remaining game.

"The feelings are mixed. We have high standards. We are disappointed at not reaching what we wanted to reach (the Champions League) but in another way it is a good thing to be in Europe.

"We are back in fifth place. We are disappointed we have missed out on fourth but, if we finish fifth, it will still be an improvement on last season."

Agbonlahor also believes Villa will be better equipped to deal with Europe next season with O'Neill expected to add several new players during the close season.

He said: "I think the gaffer will strengthen the squad in the summer. The gaffer will be able to rest certain players in games if he wants.

"If we can do that, we will have a better chance of keeping things going."

  7. how the fuc_k do you get a vespa scooter into a football stadium?

British people on this forum wouldnt be able to answer that no matter how much brain storming they do, but i bet the majority of Thai motorbike riders could manage to get one in with minimal effort and great ease.

  8. The aircon is definitely important for someone used to working out in cooler climates, and i dont really go for bar girls so it gives an opportunity to meet the odd non bar girl. Not that i managed to though.

I go to the gym to train. I wouldn't say boo to a pretty girl in the gym and would prefer them to find somewhere else to play.

What makes you think that bar girls don't train? If you're looking for non-bar girls, they're all over town working regular jobs. At least you'll know for sure if they are bargirls or not.

In Pattaya i dont know anything for sure. :)

  9. good to see that, thanks for posting. he does look about fuc_king 60 years old though.

I think its because he is so thin and gaunt where as he is naturally chubby, if he put a bit of weight on he'd look more normal ......... ive just read that sentence back and <deleted> me i sound like Richard Madeley.

  10. And now for some good news.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...lack-white.html

PICTURE SPECIAL: Newcastle fans' sight for sore eyes - Gazza back in Toon black and white

Newcastle may be three points adrift at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table but at least Toon hero Gazza is back in black and white.

The former Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio and England midfielder played in a charity game at his local ground of Dunston Federation FC at the weekend - his second match in as many days.

More than 3,000 fans flocked to see the gifted midfielder play in a charity match for cash-strapped League Two side Darlington.

Gazza led an All Stars side to a 5-3 win against a Darlington XI and capped his hour-long run out with a goal.

He said: 'I haven't played for three-and-a-half years but turned out because it's a good cause.'

The 41-year-old claimed last week in an exclusive Sportsmail interview that he had rediscovered his appetite for the game after three years away from football - and these pictures show he means business.

  12. It's referred to here now as the BPL, Barclays Premier League me thinks...

It will always be Division One. :)

Thatll be the 3rd division you talk of.

I think it was Rochdale who moved divisions 6 or so times in the last 18 years of name changing without ever getting relegated or promoted ... outside the box thinking by the marketing men.

  13. I have never come onto the Stoke thread to say how much i admire your teams play and the gentlemanly yet verocious behaviour of your fans.this season...... Anyway good luck for the weekend i will be sat in a bar in Rayong Saturday cheering on your team hoping you get those 3 points to secure another year in the top flight.

Are your important players fit and healthy for this one.

We still have a couple of long term injuries and maybe Beattie wont be fit,he was terrible last sat, carrying an injury.A draw will do us and i can see a boring game with a 0-0 written all over it.

Dont know about boring Hull are desperate for a win and this is their most likely to win game of their last 3, and i cant see Stoke rolling over for them despite being as good as safe on the points theyre on ...... Wasnt Beattie injured v Newcastle.

  14. My opinion is thet the Governemnt has better things to be doing than making headline grabbibg statements with little substance. They can hardly start pushing around morales and business ethics, when they have been complict if screwing over a significant amount of hard working people because of their <deleted> policies. Football and Politics - don't mix, and Burham is as credible as Gordon Clown. I wonder which team he claims to support. :)

    Fully agree.

Great i get to slag of this govt with out going off topic, these, thieving, lying, corrupt, nepotistic, bunch of career politicans come champagne socialists who have never worked in private industry in their horrid lives ... would run football into the ground if they got their hands on it.

Even though i agree with the wealth getting shared a little better and football should be made a fairer competition, it should be left to UEFA and the Premier League to self govern.

The ironic thing is, its this disproportionate wealth that the top few clubs have to buy the best players that make the Premier League such a sellable product around the world, hence giving Nuliebour extra tax revenues to syphon or squander.

  15. Thing with Ronaldo is he was obviously very bad at diving early on in his career, but he IMO gets fouled a hel_l of a lot without receiving freekicks etc.. he runs that quick all it takes is a slightest tap for him to fall down.

Anyway its a far more better prospect watching ManU v Barca later this month should be a hel_l of a game, though i will be betting on a Man U win as theyre the best team ive ever seen play.

  17. As for Drogba he is a horrible whining <deleted> that throws his toys out the pram at any possible time ....but i'd love him in my team, at least he plays like he gives a <deleted>.

  18. The ref was dreadful and despite despising Chelsea thought they got the worst of the decisions, there was something about that ref that just made me want to slap him.

As for Barca have 66% of play Chelsea were by far the better team throughout the game apart from the last 10 minutes, every chance Chelsea (more often then not Drogba) seemed to get the ball was just that but in front of him or behind him, there would be some tiny little thing every time making it difficult to score.

But as a neutral i think it adds a little spice to the final having 2 teams from opposing countries playing.

As for Drogba and the German all that will happen is theyll get a ban and bad losers will be able to continue as they have done in the last 10-15 years or so.

  19. Didnt you just know that was going to happen at the end with all the chances Chelsea had.

Wasnt a penalty at the end though, Chelsea players should have shown a little more grace in defeat.

  20. cali fitness yoga + fitness is 8-10k lifetime. not sure what family membership means.

Thank you for this post. Helped a lot with bargaining. Got lifetime+yoga+all branches for B8500+vat + b100+vat annual renewal.

Thats about 200GBP a year for a gym in one of BKK's most expensive areas for property, its got to be impossible for them to be making any kind of profit on that.

  21. California WoW has very good aircon and lots of pretty women,

Well right there you have one of the best reasons to join a gym in Pattaya.

The aircon is definitely important for someone used to working out in cooler climates, and i dont really go for bar girls so it gives an opportunity to meet the odd non bar girl. Not that i managed to though.

  22. Arent people from countries renowned for eating very spicy food meant to suffer from greater rates of stomach cancer and ulcers.

There is a area of Japan and a town in Italy where they eat fresh fish and vegtables that live longer then anyone else on the planet, obviously diet is a major part of this but also these areas are extremely family orientated and its meant to be living in this extended family environment that adds the extra healthy happier years.

That BBC article isnt exactly convincing.

  23. Ive just spent 3 weeks at Tony's gym on 3rd road, its a very good gym but relatively expensive if youre only here on holiday (2100 BHT for 3 weeks). However i was getting some one on one boxing training almost everyday by a Thai boxer there called JK, this costs 200bht for 40 minutes and he was superb.

I wouldnt worry about pushy sales people at California WoW, theyre only doing their job and they are easy to do business with, just go in with a price in your head that you think is reasonable, ask them what theyll charge you then just say the price you wish to pay, if they start to haggle get up slowly to walk away and tell them youre going to a rival gym and i will guarantee theyll accept your price. (before Xmas i paid 2000bht for 1 month at WoW) Or tell them this is the price you paid at a different California WoW gym.

California WoW has very good aircon and lots of pretty women, but no punch bags they charge 700bht for padwork which IMO is too much, the downside of Tony's is it is very warm as it has cr4p aircon no matter when you train.

Fairtex is pretty small and the boxing gear is often used by people who are paying a fortune for boxing holidays, but its fairly nice in there with a very good pool area.

Id recommend going to California WoW gym and then paying this JK guy 200 bht a time for boxing training.
