  1. Here's hoping for a Man United win today so youve as good as got the league in the bag, was having to cheer when Liverpool scored last week V Hull and that was belittling, will let you know if it feels more humiliating to give it a "get in" when Man U score today.

  2. I've got a really good Book you'll like San, it's called " How to tell a Liar " & is written by an American Phychologist & if you can get your head past the Americanism of the Book, it's superb & tells you all the signs of Body Language, Facial Expressions, Posture etc etc etc, would recommened it massively if you're interested in that sort of thing..

Trouble was, i read it then had the privelage of watching Gary Cooke in the Kaka saga and..................... :)

Will i find it under the Thai culture section? if i were ever to get a Thai GF, it sounds like a perfect gift to know i'm on to her.

If you see a manager like Allardyce/ Redknapp they can answer any question as straight as they wish, hence theyre not often evasive. Poor old Sparky who has always come across as a decent old Skool kind of guy does come across as if he's a bit on the outside when it comes to who is being bought.

  3. Books are not banned in Thailand.

You are mistaken. There is a fairly large list of books banned in Thailand which I'm not going to list here due to LM issues regarding some of them, just Google it.

I'm looking across at a bookcase that has a few of them .. they are among the most 'borrowed' books I have.

On a seperate post ive seen you say that all Farangs should strictly adhere to the laws of Thailand and respect their laws no matter how stupid or irrelevant one personally judges them, otherwise they deserve the full force of the law thrown at them, or is this view selective.

  4. I went to the docs today here in Pattaya and for a 5-7 minute consulation followed being prescribed 5 days supply of antibiotics and anti histomine (spelling) tablets this cost me a total of 1250 BHT.

Now i know this is obviously the farang price but even still 25GBP is what i would pay at a walk in clinic in London less the tablets.

The docs surgery was a bit run down and was just the average kind of place you see in any soi.

Now what do people usually pay on average for a consultation with a doctor. and what would a Thai pay as even half of 1250 bht is unaffordable to most i'd have thought.

  5. Manchester City boss Mark Hughes insists that any meeting with Barcelona was merely to build relations.

Executive chairman Garry Cook is understood to have met with Barca president Joan Laporta in a bid to build relations between the two clubs.

Reports have since claimed that City were looking to broker a deal for Barca star Samuel Eto'o.

I watched this interview and due to coming to Thailand for many years ive become expert at spotting when someone is lying, mostly its when their lips move, but when Sparky was asked a question he was would "look down" when answering which is the give away sign someome is lying.

City have got to be offering silly money for one of Barca's almost past their prime stars (Eto) on the basis Messi's not likely to want to leave Barca for them no matter how much they offer him.

If they were talking about things that were beneficial to both clubs surely it wouldnt hurt to go a little more indepth about what these talks were about, instead of being evasive.

  6. Its Pattaya and Bangkok every club ive ever been too where farangs go is full of freelancers, always think its a strange decision for western couples to go to Pattaya unless swinging is on the agenda.

  7. Well as far as I understand the rules for the punishment shouldn't take effect until next season - however as that message on the Stockport website says the punishment is dependant on if they come out of admin correctly - if they don't then they start next season on -10. The rules about when the punishments are enforced were changed after the cheating 'spit' scum Leeds purposely went into administration when they were safe so it didn't effect them the following season, the FA then bought in the rule that there is cut off point when if club goes into admin the punishment is enforced the following season.

As for Southampton as far as I am aware due to the timing of the 'company' owning in the club going into admin they were given the punishment that if they survived this season they'd get -10 this season and relegated or if they didn't survive they start next season on -10. Basically they tried to twist the laws to avoid the punishment so unfortunately in my opinion the punishment fits the crime.

From what i can make out of that link they get a 10 point deducation this season, but if they dont come out of administration they get another 10 points next season. (but why were Bmouth and Luton deducted 20 and 30 points.)

But its a pointless exercise deducting a club 10 points when they are safe, a bit too much of a coincidence these clubs go into administration when they do.

Just automatically relegate the club at the end of the season in place of whatever team finished top of the bottom teams and ban board members who caused the administration, otherwise they arent being punished and it encourages clubs to put local companies out of business.

  8. , do Man City fans who dont like their franchise go along to these games?

    :D

I doubt it, they want their success first, at any cost, even if it costs them their morals.. :D

What are you babbling on about now Singhy ?

How many other clubs in the Premier League are not owned by some rich guy(s)? So why is City who could lose their morals?

Sometimes you just come out with so much tosh it's un-be-fekkin-leivable :)

Because youre hoping to join the ranks Chelsea and buy the league with ludicrous never before seen amounts of money, at least with Blackburn it was one of their own that put the money in. Do you think what Chelsea have done is good for football? If so im sure you also back game 39.

Not all Chelsea fans think its good what has happened their and that its destroyed football, there must be significant section of similar thinking Man City fans.

As for all other clubs having rich owners, that may be the case but none of these guys put their own money into it, they just use their connections to borrow through the club. Or use the club to pay off their loan ie Man U and Liverpuddle.

  9. FC Manchester or whatever the ex-ManU fans that set up that club are called.

Turn up in their 1000s to watch a non league club when theyve been used to watching the best players in the world all their lives.

Got to take your hat off to them, do Man City fans who dont like their franchise go along to these games?

RE Stockport i believe this 10 points will be rolled over to next year if it doesnt relegate them this, this is what would have happened to Soton.

Where did you get this from Sanmiguel?

Thats not what it says on Sky Sports, just says THIS SEASON, nothing about it being carried over if they avoid relegation.

If you know something I don't I then I appologise in advance

Im just basing it on Soton last week, they said if it didnt affect them this season it would be taken off next season, that for sure.

But i'm wrong because on the Stockport site it says it wont affect the 09/10 season.

    http://www.stockportcounty.com/page/Latest...1644479,00.html

Surely its got to be one rule for all clubs, this is just a complete joke, all the FA should be sacked for such incompetence and making a mockery of the league, basically whoever gets relegated has been playing against a Stockport team which they couldnt afford.

Heres a good article i found on newsnow.co.uk

    http://bullsnews.blogspot.com/2009/04/fls-...ng-is-joke.html

Far play to Stockport fans though, i bet theyre chuffed to bits this punishment is meaningless unless they lose 15 - 0.

  12. I think point deductions are unfair. If a club goes into administration, punish the owners, not the fans.

Agreed if a team goes into administration i cant see why the current oweners/directors cant have the club sold from under them, or banned by the FA from running/owning a football club for so many years

Look at Leeds when Ken Bates done this, he potentially put companies that they owed out of business, then rids the club of all its debt and still owns the club but now its a far more attractive business to own as its debt free.

Im sure Leeds fans would have been delighted to get rid of him.

  13. I surprisingly got a thankyou off some top end totty (5 chicks) who looked as if they were down to Pattaya from BKK for the day for opening the door the other day, the only reason i stood there like a plank keeping it open to let all 5 through was to check them out, they really were the only decent looking girls ive seen outside a gogo bar here.

I lived in London for a few years and certain races of people dont try to move in the slightest to get out the way when walking past, one day i got peed off with this and knocked some young rapper kind of kid flat on his backside as i done as he and didnt try moving in the slightest.

  14. but there are plenty of Newcastle fans that were going in the home side just because they live in Stoke <deleted>.

They emptied the Fulwell end at Joker park of Newcastle fans one game, and literally for the entire first half Newcastle fans walked from one end of the ground to the other, it was 1/4 empty by the time theyd all left ... there wasnt any trouble.

As a kid ive gone in the home sides end at Carlisle, Boro, Huddersfield and Cambridge and never seen or got into any trouble as i'm a double hard bast4rd.

  15. Trouble is they have Stoke at Home next week & i'd fancy them to gte 3 points in that but i suppose you'd have to be cheering for Stoke in that Game... :)

<deleted> me you like crushing the human spirit.

If you want to make some easy money get that one down as a score draw, with a Newcastle win v the smoggies on the same weekend.

  16. As for writing off his career as a manager, he has already done that himself, openly stating that he is going back to TV punditry at the end of the season :)

He's sacked a few people in the club already, most notably Wise and the club doctor, this makes it difficult to go back to the punditry, plus he has already spoken about players he wishes to sign for next season.

I dont quite get the bit about having a chip on my shoulder

Manchester United fans never forgave Shearer for not signing for them all those years ago, every game they gave him sh7t because of this.

IMO he's made a huge mistake coming back to this club at the present time with Ashley and his useless mates in charge.

I was born and bred in Manchester, which makes me a City fan :D

    I apologise for the insult.

  17. If you went, which i think you will, his main Job would be keeping the likes of Duff, Taylor, Guthrie, Smith, Butt etc at the Club as they would get you straight back up those kind of Players then NEXT summer, clear them out the day after you get promotion , whcih you will..

It was this story where Shearer was quoted as saying he is planning next seasons transfers, it was on the local paper aswell -

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ap...-united-manager

Duff, Smith, Geremi, Owen, Martins, Barton are all meant to be on 50K plus a week hence they'd all have to go. Bassong is only meant to be on a 2 year contract (1yr remaining) so he'd go aswell. And i have thought as its a world cup year Collocini and Guiterrez would want out, which would leave a lot of crap.

Its possible that one win and a draw could keep them up the way Hull are playing, its possible theyd get that with the home games left.

  18. Patklang

There has never been a news report on this so i cant take anyones word.

But lets say if someone bottled/ glassed/ stabbed/ hit a young girl, within a few hours before a football game there would have been hundreds of people about ..... he would have been kicked sh7tless by the people who witnessed it whether they were Newcastle or Stoke fans, and something like this wouldnt be classed as football violence just evil.

  19. They could make it 1000 baht a transaction and it would not matter to me as I have already found the very simple, very obvious, very free, work around.

So it wouldnt matter to you if they charged 1000 bht a transaction as it doesnt affect you, but what if they started charing 2000 bht a transaction for the way you get your money would that matter? please answer as theyve the power to do it in this cartel?

But, yes, I do recommend that anyone who complains about Thailand remember that they could go back home where there is less to complain about.

So when i see the police taking money off some street vendor and compain about it, does this mean i should <deleted> off, should all farangs think everything is perfect in Thailand and if not they should <deleted> off? Should we not wish for thailand to raise its game in anyway as this is what youre implying

It seems too many here have a strange sense of expectation. Like Thailand or the world owes them something.

No farangs i meet think the world owes them a living, everyone over a certain age realises theyve got to make money to survive no matter how they do it, ..... you anymore of those brainless catchphrases?

Its a conspiracy!!! No, its just called getting yourself paid, which is what you should be focused on doing.

Its a cartel, and this cartel is conspiring together to charge tourists for using 100% of the ATM machines. Would you agree with that comment? a simple yes or no answer will do

I made good money in the property boom, i dont need to get a job just yet.

  20. I still havent found one discounted BKK hotel

Anyway this average hotel in which ive stayed before are offering a free Beer Chang as a special promotion, the 1800bht is more then i paid just before Xmas to stay there. I dont drink much but despise Beer Chang its vile and is Thailands equivilant of Special brew.

    http://www.salilhotel.com/

Or there is this hotel that will ever so kindly knock a full 10% off the bill if i stay a week, surely this is the norm for staying this long.

    http://www.adelphisuites.com/z1036/location.html

I could knock more then this off by booking via asiarooms or similar website.

There are many threads about the 150bht fee cant you discuss that on one of them.
