Sadly it's only a threat. If there would be a corruption blacklist or something in Thailand, these 5 guys would be in the top 10.

I am pretty sure that the Korat Immigration Office does not accept 90 day reporting by post.

I had my satelitte system installed in Korat last Friday just 2 days after signing up.

Good picture quality and I like their English language channels more than True's.

It has a great selection, 9 channels, for kids too.

I now regard it with a sense of pride when I remember to take my card. What happens then is a few minutes later a sense of panic sets and I fumble about my pockets just to make sure I did remember to take the card.

CTH Korat are the main agent they are located in the Subaru showroom opposite the Mall.

I get 4-6 mbs 90% of the time which is a godsend after 10 years of AIS GPRS/EDGE!!!!

If your phone works then you should be able to get a GPRS/EDGE connection through AIS or DTAC.

Its slow and can be woefully so but it's better than nothing.

I had a similar experience to Crossy arriving 2 days bedore my extension of the stay expired.

The Thai immigration officer who dealt with me looked at the date and politely reminded that I must go to the Immigration office in Korat within the next 2 days.

I said yes I fully understood that and she stamped my passport for the 2 days.

I had no problem with the airline (EVA) as the lady who checked me in understood that I was on an annual extension of stay that was about to expire and be renewed.

The only downside is if you are delayed beyond the date of your extension of stay in which case you would have to start the process over again.

Actually, need to be 15 to get an ID card.

My 8 year old son already has his ID card I think they are issued at 7 now.

I live in a village near Korat and there are plenty of kids living with their grandparents as the parents are off working.

I have never heard of a child being offered for sale locally but have no doubts it happens.

Do not hire a private investigator, they will just ask money from "wife" to write a report in her favour. You have had an unfortunate experience, learn from it & move along.

The Raya Grand in Suebsiri, about 10 minutes from the centre by tuk tuk, has great rooms at 650 Baht inc a good breakfast.

Lots of restaurants/bars/nightlife nearby too.

It is now compulsory for Thai kids to have an ID card when they are 7 years old so your son aged 10 should already have his. If he hasn't your wife needs to get him to the local Amphur asap.

If you son is a dual Thai/US national and has a Thai passport why on earth did he enter Thailand on a US pasport

The Confirmation of Income letter I used at Korat Immigration is written in English.

They just look at the income amount and calculate if it equates to sufficient Baht.
