I did mine via VFS Chiang Mai, I am working from memory but I thought the form said UK would not argue as I may be wrong although confidence high -

Having just done my passport I seem to recall that the monies had to be paid using a UK card in sterling. -

Can't answer re the transit and the longer flight to UK but I can add that I think China Eastern are a decent airline, yes they serve booze, food good as well I think. Shanghai ultra modern airport, doubt you would have a problem there unless security take a dislike to something in your hand luggage.

More runways, OK but not all airlines have resumed flights to Thailand and if they have they are often fewer of them, fewer seats, higher prices. Not easy to get all the proposed capacity being used if the flights don't happen -

Yes noticed an increase in booze costs not a decrease, did the tax reduction flounder or is it just the mega monopolies are just taking more and even more profit?
