Thai-China high-speed rail set to boost ASEAN connectivity
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Everybody here is commenting on the political aspects of this, but nobody is really getting the heart of the issue and that is that Thailand is desperately behind when it comes to high speed transport and alternatives to the ridiculously choked highways. They have been ignoring the transport of cargo for 70 years and as a result a highways are chock full of trucks of all sizes blocking all the lanes all day long, so this train is desperately needed and so are significant other lines throughout Thailand. The real question is how are they going to accomplish construction when the Rama 2 project is taking 15 years and is less than a third of the way completed. -
I do not think that they can keep track of things like credit card payments, I don't think they have the manpower, I don't think they have the technology, and I think for at least the next 50 to 100 years that's not something any of us need to worry about. Use your credit card to your heart's content.

The OP asked about the Gulf. Last I saw, Phuket is on the Andaman. Yes, that is an amazing body of water, but many of us stay as far away from Phuket as we possibly can, for a dozen good reasons.

Yes. Starting just south of Pak Nam Pran, east of Pranburi, all the way south to Ban Saphan Noi are many 5-10km long beaches, with nobody on them during the week. They are clean and lovely. Best beaches on the Gulf.

Well if you want to examine historical hatred and bloodshed the UK probably tops the list and the East India Trading Company was like the most evil corporation in the history of mankind. You say this kind of discussion crates further polarization, I say a certain amount of consciousness and awareness is a positive thing, just depends on your perspective I suppose. People seem to be very confused about why the Russians have the kind of attitudes that they have, but the answer is really quite simple, even if you just look at the recent Leninist and Stalinist history, it's all written right on the wall.

Since we are already considered outsiders here in Thailand no matter how long we live here and no matter how well we speak the language, why double the challenge by getting together with another outsider? Being with a Thai woman makes life so much easier in terms of negotiations, translations, any sort of business, and an infinite number of other areas. I absolutely love traveling around Thailand with my Thai woman, it paves the way in such a smooth manner, and we feel welcome everywhere.

Would you fight a 58yo Tyson for $100m?

Pretty incredible stuff and when you really think about it the US does not have much interest in finding white collar crime very very few people are convicted of white collar crime in the US it has to rise to the level of a Bankman-Freed to get any attention or a Bernie Madoff. Smaller levels of white collar crime up to 100 million dollars are very rarely ever prosecuted. You or I could get away with it if only we could come up with some good ideas. I would have no problem taking a bank or an insurance company for an $80 million ride. -
Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is some truth to that for instance my home nation the US is likely one of the most corrupt countries in the world when it comes to politics. Corporations and rich individuals are still allowed to fund local politics on an anonymous basis, and this has been fought at the highest level in the Supreme Court on multiple occasions. And the morally bankrupt US Supreme Court continues to side with corporations and billionaires. You are more than welcome to hide your unbelievably corrosive and corrupt funding, with the blessing of the government and the high court. Disgusting. -
Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption

Under normal circumstances one would hope that they could learn by example, but I would have to be very optimistic to think that applies here. It is merely off Broadway theater. -

The RTP. Regressive Thai people. Leading the way for the nation. -
He will do absolutely anything in his power to avoid saying no to his Big Agra buddies, who are causing an apocalypse and a horrific health hazard for the Thai people. Sugar burning must stop and the easiest way to do that would be to regulate sugar refiners and force them to ensure that sugar growers are not burning their crops. Are they interested in doing that? Absolutely not. Is Sretta interested in solving this problem? Absolutely not. Is he a good Pm? No, he's one of the worst, and is a do nothing leader.

"Big Joke" on leave from govt service to rest with family in UK

It'll be a good opportunity for him to inspect his townhouses in Kensington and Belgravia. Likely just a small portion of his overseas real estate portfolio. -

It's always fascinating and rather refreshing to get a coherent and articulate explanation for something that has remained a mystery for so long. Thank you for that thoughtful reply, you are likely very correct, these are likely wanna be ballers, wanna be famous, wanna be rich, wanna be everything that they're not. -
I have a friend who knows a lot of younger Russians, and he claims that some of them are quite progressive, refined and pleasant. I've never met any so I can't speak personally. Yes, it is likely that there are some who are pleasant characters, but they seem to be very good at hiding out! And yes criticism of this type is likely quite racist, ask me if I care.

Six brands of personal care items banned

If they did any real investigation they would like to find hundreds upon hundreds of whitening products, skin creams and other concoctions absolutely loaded but toxic, carcinogenic and harmful ingredients. Do they ever look into these kind of things, do they care as long as they're getting paid? -
Thailand collaborates with Sweden and Denmark to fight corruption
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Denmark and Sweden are likely quite competent and sincere, when it comes to fighting corruption. They will be stymied on every level with their Thai counterparts who are masterful at putting on a good show. The chances of them actually engaging in a real fight, or a meaningful battle are next to nil. Even the anti-corruption commission itself is likely spectacularly corrupt, completely inept and powerless to fight the corruption within the government, the army, immigration, the RTP, customs and countless other agencies. Corruption has a very safe and secure home within Thailand.- 19 replies

I told you I could go on all day I was just starting that was just the first four out of 30 or so qualities that these ancestors of the murderous, rampaging Cossack people have. And it was not just the ancient Cossacks that had this tendency, the history is as recently as the early 20th century. Thus, the Red Army became an instrument of mass theft. The call to steal and loot attracted the dregs of society to the ranks of the Red Army. In fact, many criminals volunteered to join not because they believed in Lenin’s revolutionary ideas, but in order to get weapons and have the right to pillage and plunder. https://euromaidanpress.com/2022/06/28/army-of-marauders-the-long-history-of-russian-military-looting-pillaging-and-stealing/

I think it's a fantastic trend, most women in Thailand appear to be more intelligent than the average man, and I'm glad that this barrier is being lifted and women are in a position to take advantage of this power to them.

Like most Thai homes you more than likely have a drop ceiling, so you want to put somewhere between R23 and R35 insulation directly onto the top of the ceiling tiles within the ceiling. That alone will make an enormous difference. Most Thai homes are built with red brick, which is likely the least efficient building material on the planet. Also, if you can install some exhaust fans in your room close to the ceiling that will also make a huge difference.
