If you wanted us to believe you were ignorant, that is all you had to say to prove it.

Former-PM Yingluck acquitted by Supreme Court
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A servant is definitely true, but decent? What have these goons done for the Thai people lately? -
Where does a statement like that even come from? They make some of the best cars in the world, what is your issue with the Germans? Still sore over WWII?

Is kicking also popular in Switzerland? Seems to be here, with some Swiss.

Losing weight is usually something someone does because they are very motivated to do so. Your desire for her fitness seems to be of little importance to her. So, you either accept it, or move on. We have choices in this life.

Thai abbot found burnt in forest shocks local community
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
Why was he revered? Did he perform miracles? Was he capable of levitation? Did he achieve samadhi? Or was it simply the title of abbot? It seems a bit like revering a Catholic bishop. Why would one do that? -
Thai AirAsia opposes airfare reductions due to operational costs

Just say no. Vote with your feet. When prices go crazy, run for the hills. Deny inflation. Deny stupidity. -
Well, nothing ever happens in a vacuum. The reaction was intense, but it was at least to some extent prompted by ex-pats who simply do not behave themselves. Most of us treat our hosts, and our host nation with some respect. Granted I do not show much respect to the nation's leaders here on this forum, but that is a different story. They do not deserve respect. Most Thais I know feel the same way. I do show alot of respect and kindness towards most Thais. And that is what counts. They are only asking to be treated with decency and respect. I do not think that is an unreasonable request. And I do not think most Thais are xenophobic. I have felt that before, elsewhere. Believe me, it does not feel like this. I find most Thais to be kind, and hospitable, but they do not have much tolerance for foreigners who behave like total idiots, and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't either. Urs David Fehr was a complete butthead, and proved that over and over again. It is likely even his mother was thankful when he left Switzerland, and will be disappointed if he returns. Now, he may be heading back. I am hoping this publicity follows him around, wherever he goes, like white on rice. He richly deserves that.

No. We will never be able to be a part of society here. We have to accept that. I am fine with that, as I have never felt a need to belong. The Thais will not accept us as one of them. Could be tribalism. Could be insecurity. I don't really care, and for me it is no big deal. Some aspects of life here, like the spectacularly weak practice of face, are something no sane and rational person would want to emulate. Same applies to some aspects of tradition, and very limited convention. In many countries, after 5 years or so, you are considered an honorary member of their society. Mexico is a good example. Not here. Not ever.

Medical Experts Warn Against LSD ‘Death Stamps’
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
When I was in my midteens, I took over 100 acid trips. Never had one that bordered on being bad. All were amazing. Learned alot. They really helped me on countless levels. Guess it depends on the individual. I think if you have a weak mind, or some mental health issues already, it can be a trigger. -
Thai man flees after assaulting girlfriend and killing her lover
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I know quite a few Thais that are very kind and decent souls, so I think that that is a bit of an extreme reply. Maybe you could have said "I am an emotionally undeveloped Thai man, who's hapless parents had no idea about the art of parenting, and as a result I grew up with a complete lack of self-esteem". -
Real men with self-esteem just don't care about the words of others, the rankings of others, and tiny things like this. However, undevelopment men, with stunted emotional growth, will be hurt and offended by the tiniest little trifle. Also many psychologists would argue that being so defensive about such small things is a sign of serious psychological defects.

Woman Injured After Monkeys Snatch Her Bag With Food
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
It does not take much to split your head open on the pavement. Or, if you hit your head in the wrong spot, during a fall, it can be the end. There is no place for aggressive monkeys in a urban environment, take those beasts out. -
Well if anybody needed evidence that the UK is a broken society and a country in a tailspin this is it. This Service Prosecuting Authority should be put on trial. If not by the authorities then by the people. Sometimes when things have gone completely out of control perhaps the people need to take things into their own hands. This is a completely ridiculous outcome, and when soldiers cannot kill an enemy combatant practicing their craft of terror, what has the world come to? Such inane policy.

When I lived and worked in India for a couple of years a long time ago I used to carry around a daypack full of food, and when I would run into beggars I would offer them a banana or an orange. The real hungry people would be very grateful and would accept the gift, the professionals would look at me with scorn and turn away.

Thai man flees after assaulting girlfriend and killing her lover
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I didn't actually mean to brutally assault her and I didn't actually mean to kill her lover, but when I saw them together I lost my mind. I'm not emotionally developed enough to discuss things when a relationship is falling apart, and I would never just consider moving on when things aren't working out. That's just not my style, and I have to impose my will on everyone, so what other choices did I have, and what else was I supposed to do? -
We really don't like criticism and we really don't like it when you tell us that we're not the center of the universe. We think we are so why don't you? How could we have a poorly ranked airport, when we are so smart? That's what we want to know, and why are you guys lying about our airports? Don't say bad things about Thailand. We just don't appreciate it, and we don't like it. We don't necessarily want to go out of our way to improve things and spend real money, but we want you to say nice things about us.

Well that might be part of it, but I also think that they weren't taught how to drive as part of their upbringing. I remember when I was first learning how to drive how much time my mother spent with me driving around, and showing me the need to be polite, the need to be respectful, and the need to show courtesy to other drivers. I don't think Thais get any of that sort of education. And I think these days "the lost art of parenting" extends the Thailand as well as the rest of the world.

This world is just chock full of scammers these days who refuse to work for a living and prey off the naivety of others. We just simply have to be smart enough and display sufficient survival skills to be able to thrive in the world these days. Just say no to idiots, just say no to strangers, just say no. I would rather give 20 or 30 baht to a homeless person in real need, than give 100 baht to some idiot who professes to have psychic ability.

It is time to arrest, convict and lock up the big joke once and for all. This man has been pulling the wool over the eyes of expats and Thai people for a decade now, with his false protestations of innocence, and his fake PR game as a crime buster. This guy is as fake as the day is long, and as guilty as any tip cop, at the highest level of the nation's largest pyramid scheme can be. Lock up the Joke!

PM Srettha to Address Wildfire Crisis Upon Return from Europe
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Calling it a wildfire crisis is just a deflection of the true problem, it is a farming crisis, it is a sugar cane crisis, it is a crisis that stems from a lack of authority on the part of the officials, and their total and complete unwillingness to impose the law upon farmers and refiners. That is the crisis, this is a Sretta crisis, a PM crisis, a coward crisis, that's what this is. -
Great result. This is a guy who has always been he's been making trouble wherever he goes, and it finally caught up to him. Like you said he probably thought she was just some simple peasant girl, when in reality she's probably a very popular doctor with a very decent father, who likely went her overseas to study, has some influence, and does not appreciate a slob kicking his daughter around. Power to him. And they're coming after him, which is wonderful. It's a fantastic finish to a bizarre story that was caused by a man totally lacking in perspective, totally lacking anything in the way of social skills or dignity, unhinged and mad at the world. And totally lacking any kind of gratitude for the life that he's been given. This tiny moron is living beachfront! What is wrong with him? What kind of mental disease does this idiot have? Doesn't he get anything? He likely does now. Well, nothing ever happens in a vacuum. The reaction was intense, but it was at least to some extent prompted by ex-pats who simply do not behave themselves. Most of us treat our hosts, and our host nation with some respect.
