  1. The super rich are super special, and worshipped by the hapless army here. Super people must be immune to Covid. Why restrict them? They must be coddled.

They keep saying they want rich tourists. What sacrifices are the ministers willing to make, to get them? Rich tourists like to spend money when they travel. And they cannot do that here, as they do not like getting taken for a ride. Most wealthy people are smart with their money. Thailand could be making a fortune on a 25% luxury tax. Instead of the 100% or more, which discourages most people from buying. How many people do you see in the luxury stores here? They are almost always completely empty. Inane. Beyond inane.

So, even without restrictions, Thailand will not attract more than a few hundred very rich tourists a year.

Most who come, once the nation opens again, will be the lower end, to lower middle income folks. Great if you are running a swap meet. Not a tourism industry.

Phuket fits your preferences. If you’d like a less mass touristy feel then Samui will fit. You could go even smaller, but then you’d have to compromise on access and things to do.

I prefer Samui over Phuket, mainly because I don’t like mass tourism and high rise, and the rainy season is only 1-1.5 months.

I tend to agree. Also less Russians. Now, both are dead, but that has it's upside too. Samui has great weather. Cooler and windy when in stormy season. I love that weather. And a gorgeous interior, away from the Ring Road. Of you can afford a home on one of the hills, the views are stunning.

Phuket gets alot more rain. Also, as over developed as Samui is, it is still less than Phuket. And if you want quiet, Koh Phangan is amazing. Gorgeous.

The big advantage of Phuket is the ability to fly anywhere reasonably. Bangkok Air's near monopoly on Samui is unnecessary, heinous and obnoxious.

The second advantage of Phuket is the Andaman. It is beautiful. Local seafood is better. Water is far deeper and cleaner. The diving is the best in Thailand. The Gulf pales by comparison, on nearly every level.

Herein lies a problem. Shouldn’t the potential President of the USA be able to act off script?

Yes. But, I was referring to the reptilian baiting and bullying that Trump is likely to engage in. All Biden has to do is respond with a line like "Don, stay on point. Stop showing us who and what you are. We already know that. So does the nation. I will not be joining you in the gutter during this debate. Sorry to disappoint you".

    IQ advantage. Says who?

Fluent in policy? Maybe he used to be, he is not fluent in anything now.

Don't forget Trump flunked out of business school. Many of his teachers and fellow students were quoted as saying he was over his head, and fairly dim. His speech and elemental articulation certainly indicates that. So many of his quotes do too. Need I repeat them here? His lack of policy prowess, in addition. So do his multiple business failures.

I double down on my assessment. Joe has 60 IQ points at a minimum, on him. Biden is a very smart man. Granted he has slowed down a bit. But, so has Trump. Alot.

Probably yes this is what he needs to do.

Somehow think the reality will not be quite like that.

We shall see. Don't forget. Biden likely has a 60 IQ point advantage over Trump, which is not a hard thing to have. And he is quite fluent in policy, which Trump is not. So, as long as he stays on script, he should prevail. He has to resist the gutteral baiting of Little Don.

  6. Biden needs to be an attack dog, like Trump, from the start of this debate. He needs to show no respect for the office of president, and fire one effective missile after another. The tax issue only gives him more ammunition. Shows what a business failure Trump really is.

And it might be effective to refer to him as Little Don. Those kinds of things really get under his paper thin skin. Make him lose his way. Make him stumble. Let's go Joe!

I would never tell my son he is nothing special. I find it more benifical to provide encouragement when he is heading in what I feel is the right direction, and applying his efforts in a worthwhile manner. also accepting he is a child and will want to do some things that will please him, and make life fun, rather than a procession of drudgery and hard work

It is about letting them know they are not princes, they are not entitled, they are no better on any level, than their sisters, or female counterparts.

What do you do when he is heading in the wrong direction? Too many parents spend way too much time coddling, and giving into every wish and whim of their kids. It makes one ask, which one is the parent and which one is the kid? It creates a very weak minded child who often grows up into the kind of adult this woman had to contend with.

  8. Some Thai men represent an overly entitled gender here in the LOS. Boys from an early age are told they are special.

What parents need to start doing is to tell their sons:
    1. You are nothing special. You become special when you prove yourself to be a worthy person. An exemplary character. A cut above the rest. Someone who gives and does not just take.

    2. Your sister is special. She works hard, she is ambitious, and she is not lazy. Prove yourself to be at least equal to her. Women run this country.

    3. Respect is not freely given. It must be earned. Go out into the world and earn respect.

    4. Make your mark on the world. And pay your own way. All Thai men should be asked to leave home by the age of 20. Unless they are severely handicapped, or have real, true, special needs.

So why does he not just release his tax information in order to prove that it is fake news?

He can't. He won't. His guilt prevents that. He will continue to lie and deflect. That is what the fake master does best. He even lies about his successes, even though he has 17 major business failures and his companies have been losing money for decades. He is a failure. On all levels. Lock him up!

  10. Now, she needs to be arrested, prosecuted, and jailed. It will set an example. And the teachers that are participating in gang rape, and molestation of their students, need to be given a life term in prison, all family assets seized, and have their family names published nationally. Some strong action needs to be taken. Bad teachers seem to have some sort of official protection here.

I understand perfectly what your view is. You are quite clear. This is your view: Despite the Constitution of the USA saying that the President of the USA is to nominate a Justice upon a created vacancy, you believe that a survey should be the deciding factor (and evidently a Justice dying wish), instead of the Constitution of the USA.

Likewise, you believe that the Senate should ignore their constituents and not give consent to the President's choice despite having a current majority. This clearly stated is what your position is. "C'mon man" your position is easily comprehended. But, alas, I was raised to be a "devotee" to the Constitution of the United States of America, to hold this document to be only one notch below the Bible in terms of its importance.

You weren't? When did this change for you? What caused you to reject the constitution of the United States? Can you come up with an answer without casting blame, that shows the logical progression that changed your view, away from one that loves and admires the Republic, to one that wishes to cast it away?

    Yes, I can.

Mitch McConnell. Back in 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vowed again Wednesday to block President Obama's Supreme Court nomination, saying the American people should have a "voice" in the process. "I believe the overwhelming view of the Republican Conference in the Senate is that this nomination should not be filled, this vacancy should not be filled by this lame duck president," McConnell said.

"The American people are perfectly capable of having their say on this issue, so let's give them a voice. Let's let the American people decide. The Senate will appropriately revisit the matter when it considers the qualifications of the nominee the next president nominates, whoever that might be," McConnell said.

And Lindsay Graham. Back in 2016. "I want you to use my words against me. If there's a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said, 'Let's let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination,' " he said in 2016 shortly after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. "And you could use my words against me and you'd be absolutely right." What changed, exactly. Please break that down for me.

So, what changed? Besides political expedience?
