China's ways predate Trump's involvement in politics by many years. And it's not as if China's leadership is all that great either. Ask Winnie-the-Pooh.

Of course. China is a masterful at the game they play. That is part of the point here. Their intense level of skill is contrasted by Trump's intense level of naivety, surliness, hatred, and nastiness, and his intense lack of diplomacy, negotiating skill, vision, leadership, respect for other people or nations, character, or respect for our allies.

Trump vs. Xi? Trump would go down in the first minute, of the first round. Same with Kim and same with Putin. So far, all of them have outplayed Trump, and made him look like the fool he is. He is an empty suit. All bluster. No substance.

    I've never found that relevant,

Knew a woman 2 years, married her, complete disaster losing me most of the money I made in my life, never saw her again.

Knew a woman one week, married her, ended after a few years with no personal cost to myself, still see her.

Women are good at hiding their true selves many are completely cold and calculating, men are generally more open and caring.

    Just my opinion.

Though that may apply in some cases, I think in the majority of cases, if you take you time, you are able to really see who it is, that you are getting serious with. Most women like to step up the timetable. I feel that if it is good, it is only going to get better. And if there are issues, they are usually going to manifest themselves over time. So, time is your ally. Use it. Push back. Do not allow yourself to get pressured into their timeline.

On top of that, American companies were never forced to move their production to China.

It is their greedy shortsighted CEOs who considered that the deal (your know how against our slave workers) was good for them!

And by the way, most of these companies are still not complaining...it is the US government that is complaining against a deficit created by American companies, not by China!

But Trump doesn't understand that, on the contrary!

He imposes sanctions on multiple imports from China, while carefully avoiding to include Apple, one of the worst offenders!!!

Not only Apple produces in China, but it also carefully avoids to pay billions in taxes by stashing its profits in tax havens!

Finally, Trump and his henchmen have probably never heard of the concept of (not) losing face, which is fundamental in Chinese culture.

If he wants something from them, it has to look like they offered it, and certainly not that he got it by force and humiliation.

There is very little Trump understands about negotiations. He is a failure on so many levels. If it were not for his willingness to cripple small contractors, and steal money from investors, in addition to teaming up with Russian mobsters, he would not have seen much success in his life. To expect this crude, gruff, no class neophyte crime boss to negotiate a reasonable deal with China is beyond my imagination.

  4. This is not only a political stunt, it reeks of desperation from a man who is scared to death of becoming a lame duck, in his one and only term as president, and being humiliated in the process. As hard as he will try to deflect, obfuscate, lie, and blame others, he will be largely responsible for the enormous bloodshed the GOP will be a victim of, on November 6th. The public will speak, loud and clear. This goon does not represent anything near a majority of Americans. And his tirades, attitude, lack of skill, hubris, arrogance, hatred, racism, and misogyny will be soundly rejected by the public next week.

Yes how does someone like your self who calls just about anybody in Thai officialdom including "Biggest Joke is the most corrupt of them all, corrupt and wanting to turn Immigration into a bribery machine continue to live here?

    Where is your self-esteem?

Anytime someone who does not understand a post, asks why don't we leave, it makes one stop and reflect on the lack of thought put into the reply. We complain for valid reasons. The fact that the country is run by a corrupt regime, does not mean we want to leave. Where we come from we criticize and call out people for their crimes. Same here. Part of the reason for this forum is to tell it like we see it. Otherwise we might as well just lay down and die.

If you do not think this regime or biggest joke are corrupt, then God bless you. I wish I had a pair of your rose tinted glasses.

Always remember too that they carry guns and handcuffs and can, will and do lock people up in police cells until they co-operate !

Living a life of fear is not living a life at all. We have little to fear from these guys. It is a very uncommon thing for them to lock up foreigners, for pushback. Sure, if you have committed a real crime, that is different. I am talking about resisting a fleecing. We must and we can.

  7. Late on Friday morning, Rattiyakorn issued an apology on the restaurant's Facebook page, saying she and her husband did it without intending to harm patrons.

She said she and her husband did not thoroughly think about the consequences.

It is called having consciousness, and not sleepwalking through life. It is called having a conscience, and being aware of one's actions. Now, with social media, fools are having to come to terms with the nature of their actions, and the fact that ignorant actions, dumb and callous statements, and insults can have consequences.  Egg on their faces.
