Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
spidermike007 replied to impulse's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Yes worth every penny in my opinion, of course I never pay full retail for anything, so I typically wait until the new models come out and then buy last year's model at 10 to 15,000 baht off. I just bought a new Samsung S24 Ultra at a price that I thought was justified. For me it's all about the camera, the secondary aspect is speed, the brilliance of the screen and other factors like that. Considering the amount of use I get out of my smartphone it's worth every single dollar that I put into it. Like my laptops, and my TVs and motorbikes, I typically replace them about every 3 years. -
Well it depends on your definition of murder, if you don't think that people killed during warfare is a type of murder then I guess there's no reasoning with you, is there? And if you don't believe in genocide then we're further apart than I thought. There's no doubt in my mind that the current leadership of Israel are homicidal, extremist maniacs.

RFK Jr.’s Confirmation Hearings Prove He’s Unfit to Lead HHS
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Trump and any mention of merit are as oxymoronic as anything the man could possibly say. He not only does possess merit, he never under any circumstances chooses a anybody to serve in his administration based on the concept of merit. It is always based on the concept of fealty, the willingness for one to sacrifices their standards, and bend down and kiss the ring, and do as he pleases. Regardless of whether or not it's detrimental to the US interests. -
RFK Jr.’s Confirmation Hearings Prove He’s Unfit to Lead HHS
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not only does it prove that he's unfit to lead that department, it also proves that Congress and the Senate have bowed down to the leader to an extent not seen since the senators of ancient Rome bowing down to the emperor. And this certainly applies to his other bottom of the barrel pics that are nearly all highly unqualified. It's truly pathetic and it's dangerous and alarming.- 162 replies

Thaksin Proves He Hasn’t Lost His Old Magic
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He lost his magic a long time ago, only his delusional and sycophantic followers will even consider the idea that this man still has relevance. Nothing Anutin says means anything to anyone. -
Damn. Such an ugly ending to this story. Lives of his loved ones will be devastated. Based on his youth, one wonders what happened? Will we ever know for certain?

Despite his rhetoric I think it's very difficult to tell at this point which country he wants to invade next, which country he wants to take over, and where his priorities lie. The man is so confused, his messages so garbled and jumbled, that they change from day to day. There is a reason why I've been saying for a long time that he is one of the most dangerous men in the world.

Trump's Trade War to Raise Prices on a Wide Range of Products
spidermike007 replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
“He stood in the way of 100 fentanyl detection machines,” said Andrew Bates, a former White House aide under President Joe Biden, referring to the devices that the Department of Homeland Security says are the best tool for stopping the flow of the drug. Currently, only a small fraction of all cars crossing northward into the United States from Mexico are scanned as they enter. The vast majority of fentanyl seized at the border is taken from cars driven by American citizens at official ports of entry. Had the bill that Trump blocked last summer passed — he said he told his allies in Congress to 0kill it because it would have helped Democrats beat him in November — the 100 new machines would have dramatically increased the percentage of scanned cars. So where are his priorities, is this really about stopping the flow of drugs, or is that just another one of his totally fake talking points? -
Trump's Trade War to Raise Prices on a Wide Range of Products
spidermike007 replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
If there was some level of consistency when it came to his rhetoric on the borders it might be more believable but his arguments are bordering on that of someone who is not only completely unhinged but someone who is completely irrational. In Donald Trump’s mind, and in his alternate reality, there is a “massive” amount of deadly fentanyl pouring into the country across the U.S. northern border with Canada. In the real world, exactly 43 pounds of the deadly synthetic drug were seized at the U.S.-Canada border last year — one-two thousandths of the 21,000 pounds seized at the U.S.-Mexico border. That disconnect illustrates succinctly the president’s approach to both the very real fentanyl problem and the nation’s trade relationships with our North American neighbors — an approach apparently based on his whims and the political expediency of the moment rather than facts and a coherent plan. For months, Trump has been claiming that fentanyl from Canada required the imposition of punitive tariffs — only to later say that Canada deserved tariffs because it ran a trade surplus against the United States while simultaneously suggesting that the entire problem could be resolved if it agreed to become the 51st U.S. state. This week, Trump backed down from his 25% tariff threat against both Canada and Mexico for at least one month without gaining anything. Mexico again promised to deploy troops to help prevent illegal border crossings, as it has repeatedly in recent years. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised the same $1.3 billion in border security enhancements he had already pledged in December, only this time with the addition of a new “fentanyl czar” in the Canadian government. Again, evidence that he is a terrible negotiator. In the meantime, Trump has done nothing since taking office to push for the fentanyl-detecting equipment that had been contained in bipartisan border security legislation that he blocked last summer. Is stunning incompetence is really starting to reveal itself. -
The vetting process for his substandard picks to lead the massive departments running the US government are evidence that the very cowardly congress and senate have bowed down to him on a level that's only comparable to the sycophantic senators of ancient Rome. It is very scary. There is no check on his power now. It is a total capitulation.

This should be a good learning lesson for Trump supporters, as he is just beginning to show his thirst for power, and when you have a megalomaniac with his degree of ignorance that can be a very dangerous thing. Something like this could be Vietnam part II. It would be very much like Trump to add another 10 trillion to the deficit with a bizarre, twisted, unnecessary and highly ignorant war.

Trump said the U.S. would take ownership of the Gaza Strip and redevelop it after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere and turn the territory into “the Riviera of the Middle East” in which the “world’s people”— including Palestinians — would live. “We’ll make sure that it’s done world class,” Trump said. “It’ll be wonderful for the people―Palestinians, Palestinians mostly, we’re talking about.” In other words he'll invite his super rich developer buddies to come in and build multi-million dollar condos and five star resorts. Great work Don. “You look over the decades, it’s all death in Gaza,” Trump said. “This has been happening for years. It’s all death. If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people, permanently, in nice homes where they can be happy and not be shot and not be killed and not be knifed to death like what’s happening in Gaza.” And who was that death caused by other than the extremist state that they unfortunately have to call a neighbor. Trump also said he isn’t ruling out deploying U.S. troops to support reconstruction of Gaza. He envisions “long-term” U.S. ownership of a redevelopment of the territory. Another promise broken to not engage in overseas adventures. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League joined Egypt and Jordan in rejecting plans to move Palestinians out of their territories in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. I think the only conclusion that could be had here is that Trump is an absolute moron, who is completely and totally out of his element when it comes to foreign policy.

Once again the nimwitt leader demonstrates his spectacular level of ignorance when it comes to world affairs, he wants to take over the Panama Canal, Greenland and now the Gaza Strip. What's next from a man who claims that he was going to get us out of the various wars that the US supports? This kind of stuff is very rich, and it does reveal his true level of megalomania and his great thirst for additional power.

I totally agree there should be a third area of sports for Trans people, for people who cannot decide who they are or what they are, and for people who identify as anything other than a man or a woman. This particular category of sports will be ignored by the entire planet, will be utterly meaningless and irrelevant and will collapse out of a total lack of interest. And nobody would care.

Trump and Musk are likely two of the least charitable people in the history of mankind based on their wealth. And here they are taking a few hundred million dollars from some organizations that are actually doing something and helping people to avoid starvation and destitution. Neither of these creeps care one iota about the suffering of their fellow man, it means nothing to them, they would rather give a couple couple of trillion to their super rich buddies and their corporations in tax breaks, than spend a few hundred million helping very poor people avoid their terrible fate. The deplorables at work.

Good. The PC crew, the liberals in the US, the universities, and many others are so anxious to hop on the support bandwagon, for anyone who wants to be different, regardless of the complexity of the circumstances. When it goes so far that the governing body of competitive swimming in the US is supporting "trans women", who are biological MEN, and enabling them to compete with "real women", who have little chance of winning against a 6'4" man who has transitioned, with shoulders the size of a quarterback, it is beyond ridiculous. I am an open minded guy. I have had a number of gay and lesbian friends for a long time, and am generally supportive of alternative lifestyles. But, there has to be a limit. Somewhere, somehow. This whole thing has spun so far out of control. Likely, just one of the reasons the Dems lost the recent election. Have you heard of the new animal identities? This is really happening. And the school districts are being told to allow it. You cannot force a student to "speak human", if they identify as a wolf. How dysfunctional is that? If I did not know any better I would think it is a joke. There is a good documentary called "What is a woman?", by Matt Walsh, which explores some of this. If I were a teacher the first thing I would ask is how much actual time have you spent living in a wolf pack, and how did the wolves feel about you living amongst them? When first told schools were encountering this, from Maine to Wisconsin, the thought was humorous, like Halloween year-round, dressing up, so-and-so thinking he or she is a zebra or giraffe. But when speaking with teachers, the hard reality hit me – kids are being allowed to suspend all reference to reality, integrate into their thinking not only the idea that a girl can become a boy or boy become a girl – and win at sports that way – but they can now become an animal, by will. https://amac.us/kids-identifying-as-animals/

Incompetent weasels. Blame the farmers and the refiners. Corporations do not want to clean up the air, they're making billions by fouling the air. All the government or provinces would have to do is crack down on sugar companies and the air would improve by 70% overnight, this time of year. One simple move, yet do they do that? Do they enforce any of the existing laws? Absolutely not, they nor the farmers doing the burning do not care for the people one iota, the common man, us, our neighbors and friends and family, we mean less than zero. Having the Air Force do practice runs by bombing the sugar refineries would be a great place to start. Just make sure none of the employers are there when they drop the bombs. Fining the sugar growers large amounts for burning would also be a benefit. In other words, enforce the laws that are already on the books and stop obfuscating and deflecting and avoiding a solution, while protecting your super rich patrons, who are the culprits and criminals. How Chiang Mai became the world’s most polluted city- https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/4/12/how-chiang-mai-became-the-worlds-most-polluted-city At least one NGO is calling it what it is. Field burning, not forest fires is the main cause of bad air here.
