Last week, Wednesday, I did my 90 day report on-line. No problem except that it was not approved by the weekend. So, I deleted it and made it again on Sunday in the hope that it would be approved on Monday. But no approval on Monday, so I deleted it again on Tuesday and tried again. This time it rejected my application with the "go to your local office...." message.

So it seems that they only give you one deletion, before rejecting you application.

Went to Prom at 15:00 hrs on Tuesday. After reporting, and filling in the customer satisfaction questionnaire, and was out by 15:15 hrs.

They even have the number displays at each desk and the clear number announcements now...

Don't ask me why, but my last answer has disappeared. It's Saturday today, not Sunday, though. I mailed my TM47 in last Saturday and the stub came back EMS today, no problem at all. I scan the receipt and add it into the PDF with the rest of my passport, fill out the next set of envelopes so they're ready to print and mail for the next 90 days (less approx two weeks advance time). I've heard that online is not reliable. Is a one day turnaround normal for you?

Mailed mine in last Saturday (also one for a friend) and the stubs just came back today, Sunday, 7-8 days. No sweat, no problems as usual. I'll scan the stub, append it into the PDF with the rest of my passport copy to print out next time. I keep a blank envelope to fill in and mail to Immigration next time, also the SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope), so it takes only a minute or two at the Post Office. Do you expect to get approval by the next day online? EMS has never failed most of us.

Sorry, I thought providing the link to Chiangmai Immigration website with all the contact info that is on the homepage etc would have been enough.

Yeah, ok, but I see no link on your comments. It's no problem to find the website with the number, but I have about a 2% hit ratio calling numbers posted by Thai gov agencies. See, the thing is, I wasn't asking you for the link or the number, just you to verify that you had indeed called and had a hit.  Anybody can find the number and anyone can say call, but can you guarantee an answer?  That's the question, Einstein.

Turnaround time varies. I believe they have said in the past allow up to one month to receive receipt of notification, easy to check receipt at immigration if you have  EMS/registered in.

BTW you would have got the same answer and info if you had called them. 1507622.GIF

Sure it's a working number? How about letting us know?

My 90 day sent registered Monday  last week,  back in 4 working days with only a 3 b stamp on the envelope.Thats the average time I have found.

I still mail to the old 71 Sanambin Moo 3 address and thats the address they send it back from, well thats what is stamped on the envelope

I've had no trouble, but the address I send to is Immigration Office, 71 Moo 3, Tambon Suthep, CM, 50200. Maybe I somehow spaced out the Sanambin, but it's always worked. I just sent mine in Sat 17th, so hope there's no problem. Good to know that it might take longer than usual, but it would have been nice if the Mr. Thailand had tacked on the right phone number. There's no reliable phone directory in Thailand it seems, numbers are always changing or not working.

I used to grow payayoh at my previous house.  I bought two plants for 20 baht each at a local market and they flourished for years.  They are very easy to grow and keep alive and I used to harvest around a hundred leaves per day and put them in smoothies, though I don't know if ingesting them in that way has the same therapeutic effect.  So, you might ask around at any place that sells plants.

I wonder if you can make tea with the freshly harvested leaves or do they require some processing?

Well, sure wish I could do the same. I believe the fresh leaves are fine, usually blended with green apples for a nice, refreshing drink. I'll try to enlist my darling Thai wife's help on this one. THANKS!

The Barleria herb you mentioned earlier looks very interesting.

I've had gastric reflux for years & take Omeprazole every day; would be nice not to have to take it ad infinitum.

I've seen some studies that say it increases E2 (Oestrodiol) in men, which in turn can affect ones personal Moh scale....555!

Btw, do you know where to buy Ferric Chloride, my bil wants it to etch a pattern on knives.

Here it is sold as a green balm in small jars, 50-70 baht each, not hard to find. The herb is used to cure all sorts of ailments in India, check that out via Yahoo (I do NOT recommend Google any longer). Too much strong coffee daily gives me reflux as does fat and alcohol. Treatment is always problematic long term if you can't ferret out the root cause. Wish I had access to chemicals, but my university research days are long over.

I spent 90 minutes doing my extension this year (would have been 60 min. but apparently my passport was taken to another office and not returned until I inquired what was taking so long).  And....I didn't pay anybody anything to do it for me......and I never would. That is a pain-free process. Same as it has been for the last 10 years. Hope things never change over there.

Some people like using an agent, some people like going to Promenada to spend a little time, enjoy the people they meet and check out the mall, buy a few things that can't be found elsewhere. Some people's pain is other's pleasure. What I love about Thailand is all the great people to see, wonderful places to go, and that I have nothing but time to take it all in. Now I'm thinking about skipping the postal method next time for the 90 day extension and going back to Promenada for a lovely morning. Don't know why I bother to say this over and over again, guess I'm hoping to add a bit to world's peace.

Yes, without going into Pharmaceutical Companies & their 'tricks', there are, I'm sure, many Herbs & etc that can either cure, or alleviate some illnesses. I have noticed over the years how simple & inexpensive treatments seem to 'dissappear' from sale, to be later replaced by a drug concotion that cost considerabley more. Just skimming the surface with my opinions, as a whole new discussion would derail your thread.

There is a website 'Snake sabah treatments' that sells it, but it might be defunct, as the last comment was in 2012.

I'll keep looking, as I find alternatives to mainstream western medicine very interesting.

Glad you don't have Cancer.

Well, thank you very much for your kind remarks, Mr. Faraday. Too bad we have the problem with courier services and Thai customs. I've got enough room to grow some herbs if worth the trouble. Can't overstate my pleasure at having it wipe out the rash. :)

Yes, I've seen that. The one man's remark that Snake Grass does not cure cancer is typical, but some studies show it does and if it did the medical / pharma industries would make sure you didn't know it, no money. On another older thread a man in Chiang Mai was diagnosed with terminal cancer, six tumors, impending death. After drinking this snake grass tea all the tumors shrunk to the amazement of his doctors, so he tried to order more from Malaysia via courier. His shipment was seized and he was hit with all sorts of penalties and ultimatums, nothing heard after that. While I appreciate comments, these older links are easy to find, I've been there most likely, so let's try not to waste time and effort. Of course, I don't have cancer and am in superb health, but it's good to be prepared and the liquid has entirely cured the rash I suffered with for ten years, I expect as long as I don't stop using it, but it's a small miracle to me. Barleria has been another wonder herb that I discovered in Thailand, but let's stick to this one for now. Surely, there's a way to find the herb or at least some cuttings.

Been searching around, just can't find a supplier for C.N.

Maybe contact this man at Sonkla Uni?

    Thanks for the efforts.

A weekend in Kuala Lumpur isn't a trek up Kilimanjaro. Not even an expensive weekend getaway. And if that's where you can get your herb, boxing it up and mailing it back to you or bringing it back in your suitcase seems easy enough.

Not a bad idea, thanks. My lovely Thai wife retires in six weeks, might be fun.

Clinicanthus Nutans is the only plant I can see with a similar name.

    C. Lutens appears not to exist.

    Perhaps try here 'botany.org'.

Good luck in finding what you need.

My bad, it is nutans, sp is lower case. I'm a bit sloppy at times.

  15. Lots of info on this herb on the Internet, supposedly grown in Thailand and Malaysia among other countries, but darned if I can find the leaves to use for tea. A white, liquid I bought instantly cleared up a rash that I've been battling for ten years and there are credible reports of anticancer activity using the herbal tea. The only place I can see to order the leaves is Malaysia which will almost certainly create a problem with customs unless it goes ordinary postal. Someone years ago offered to provide cuttings for planting, but he doesn't respond anymore. I can make intelligent guesses on my own, so please don't respond unless you know exactly where this herb (or the live plant) can be obtained, especially in the Chiang Mai area.
    THANKS!

I must say Cusanus, I waiting to learn what you're going to do with your water.

    The Distilled water, that is.

Sorry, Faraday, but after testing the waters with a bit of Einsteinian bait, I find I'm swimming in a pool of piranha here. I'll have to bail now and tend to my adorable little Thai wife if I can still take the plunge at my age. Thanks for all the comments and for the great intellects who set me right on relativity. It's so clear to me now.  Who woulda thunk? :passifier:

Looks like most of the insulting comments have been wisely deleted. Say you don't buy the theory of relativity and unleash a mass of angry flesh without any credentials in science or math and bent on tearing out your innards. How does one judge the human species? If anyone seriously wants to debate relativity (sans politics, insults and psychiatry), start a new thread. Restrict it to those with respectable credentials in science, begin with a sound statement of the first two postulates of relativity, then send me an invite.  Meanwhile, I've found at least one place where you can by high grade distilled water should you have a reason for it.

As a matter of interest, it just rained here. The instrument reads as follows (microsiemens):
    Tap water: 100 (off scale)
    Home filtered tap water 56-76
Rainwater (collected in saucer fresh) 35
Pure 100% Distilled (Battery shop) 27

So it's not for any illicit purpose, but you would prefer not to disclose why you need it. Strange. Could it be you are trying to revisit cold fusion?

There's very little real science out there anymore because anti-science is well entrenched in the minds of most right-wing politicians - and they are in the ascendancy at present.

You then know what is real science and what is not, and why right wing politicians are the cause of the downfall of science? Enlighten me further.

I'm quite surprised that people are responding - of course what on earth do you need this for?

Unfortunately your comments get more bizarre - relativity bunk?

I think you have been taking too much of what you are planning to cook up. Some interesting, sometimes weird , fun, members here. But from your OP and comments - a total nut job .

No sir, the thread was an answer to those wishing to find distilled water that is all. A total nut job because I find relativity not real science? I can provide a dozen well respected scientists who also thought so, including Louis Essen, the first to accurately measure the speed of light. And, once again, it's easy for a loser without any real credentials or achievements to insult a man. You are, however, in violation of the terms of agreement on Thaivisa for so doing. At the very least, tell us all what your credentials are in physics and psychiatry as well? Oh, that's what I thought,... but let me be civil enough not to shame you with the truth.
