I spent 90 minutes doing my extension this year (would have been 60 min. but apparently my passport was taken to another office and not returned until I inquired what was taking so long). And....I didn't pay anybody anything to do it for me......and I never would.
That is a pain-free process. Same as it has been for the last 10 years. Hope things never change over there.
Some people like using an agent, some people like going to Promenada to spend a little time, enjoy the people they meet and check out the mall, buy a few things that can't be found elsewhere. Some people's pain is other's pleasure. What I love about Thailand is all the great people to see, wonderful places to go, and that I have nothing but time to take it all in. Now I'm thinking about skipping the postal method next time for the 90 day extension and going back to Promenada for a lovely morning. Don't know why I bother to say this over and over again, guess I'm hoping to add a bit to world's peace.

Yes, without going into Pharmaceutical Companies & their 'tricks', there are, I'm sure, many Herbs & etc that can either cure, or alleviate some illnesses. I have noticed over the years how simple & inexpensive treatments seem to 'dissappear' from sale, to be later replaced by a drug concotion that cost considerabley more. Just skimming the surface with my opinions, as a whole new discussion would derail your thread.
There is a website 'Snake sabah treatments' that sells it, but it might be defunct, as the last comment was in 2012.
I'll keep looking, as I find alternatives to mainstream western medicine very interesting.
Glad you don't have Cancer.
Well, thank you very much for your kind remarks, Mr. Faraday. Too bad we have the problem with courier services and Thai customs. I've got enough room to grow some herbs if worth the trouble. Can't overstate my pleasure at having it wipe out the rash. :)

Yes, I've seen that. The one man's remark that Snake Grass does not cure cancer is typical, but some studies show it does and if it did the medical / pharma industries would make sure you didn't know it, no money. On another older thread a man in Chiang Mai was diagnosed with terminal cancer, six tumors, impending death. After drinking this snake grass tea all the tumors shrunk to the amazement of his doctors, so he tried to order more from Malaysia via courier. His shipment was seized and he was hit with all sorts of penalties and ultimatums, nothing heard after that. While I appreciate comments, these older links are easy to find, I've been there most likely, so let's try not to waste time and effort. Of course, I don't have cancer and am in superb health, but it's good to be prepared and the liquid has entirely cured the rash I suffered with for ten years, I expect as long as I don't stop using it, but it's a small miracle to me. Barleria has been another wonder herb that I discovered in Thailand, but let's stick to this one for now. Surely, there's a way to find the herb or at least some cuttings.

A weekend in Kuala Lumpur isn't a trek up Kilimanjaro. Not even an expensive weekend getaway. And if that's where you can get your herb, boxing it up and mailing it back to you or bringing it back in your suitcase seems easy enough.
Not a bad idea, thanks. My lovely Thai wife retires in six weeks, might be fun.

Clinicanthus Nutans is the only plant I can see with a similar name.
C. Lutens appears not to exist.
Perhaps try here 'botany.org'.
Good luck in finding what you need.
My bad, it is nutans, sp is lower case. I'm a bit sloppy at times.

Lots of info on this herb on the Internet, supposedly grown in Thailand and Malaysia among other countries, but darned if I can find the leaves to use for tea. A white, liquid I bought instantly cleared up a rash that I've been battling for ten years and there are credible reports of anticancer activity using the herbal tea. The only place I can see to order the leaves is Malaysia which will almost certainly create a problem with customs unless it goes ordinary postal. Someone years ago offered to provide cuttings for planting, but he doesn't respond anymore. I can make intelligent guesses on my own, so please don't respond unless you know exactly where this herb (or the live plant) can be obtained, especially in the Chiang Mai area.
THANKS! -

I must say Cusanus, I waiting to learn what you're going to do with your water.
The Distilled water, that is.
Sorry, Faraday, but after testing the waters with a bit of Einsteinian bait, I find I'm swimming in a pool of piranha here. I'll have to bail now and tend to my adorable little Thai wife if I can still take the plunge at my age. Thanks for all the comments and for the great intellects who set me right on relativity. It's so clear to me now. Who woulda thunk?

Looks like most of the insulting comments have been wisely deleted. Say you don't buy the theory of relativity and unleash a mass of angry flesh without any credentials in science or math and bent on tearing out your innards. How does one judge the human species? If anyone seriously wants to debate relativity (sans politics, insults and psychiatry), start a new thread. Restrict it to those with respectable credentials in science, begin with a sound statement of the first two postulates of relativity, then send me an invite. Meanwhile, I've found at least one place where you can by high grade distilled water should you have a reason for it.
As a matter of interest, it just rained here. The instrument reads as follows (microsiemens):
Tap water: 100 (off scale)
Home filtered tap water 56-76
Rainwater (collected in saucer fresh) 35
Pure 100% Distilled (Battery shop) 27

So it's not for any illicit purpose, but you would prefer not to disclose why you need it. Strange. Could it be you are trying to revisit cold fusion?
There's very little real science out there anymore because anti-science is well entrenched in the minds of most right-wing politicians - and they are in the ascendancy at present.
You then know what is real science and what is not, and why right wing politicians are the cause of the downfall of science? Enlighten me further.

So it's not only the climate scientists who are in a conspiracy. It's also virtually all physicists. We are in grave danger.
Who said anything about climate scientists? You're a physicist, then? Where did you get your degrees and where were you employed?

I'm quite surprised that people are responding - of course what on earth do you need this for?
Unfortunately your comments get more bizarre - relativity bunk?
I think you have been taking too much of what you are planning to cook up. Some interesting, sometimes weird , fun, members here. But from your OP and comments - a total nut job .
No sir, the thread was an answer to those wishing to find distilled water that is all. A total nut job because I find relativity not real science? I can provide a dozen well respected scientists who also thought so, including Louis Essen, the first to accurately measure the speed of light. And, once again, it's easy for a loser without any real credentials or achievements to insult a man. You are, however, in violation of the terms of agreement on Thaivisa for so doing. At the very least, tell us all what your credentials are in physics and psychiatry as well? Oh, that's what I thought,... but let me be civil enough not to shame you with the truth.

It is more about a man who found a laboratory supplies business and was surprised that they sold distilled or deionized water.
Although in fairness to your allusion, spell checker did try and alter it to demonized water
It's about where to find distilled water.

What are your academic credentials that permit you to judge what is real science and waht is not?

Really, so do you think something like CERN is in this category?
I haven't seen any 'groundbreaking' discoveries from them yet...
Don't know about that, but did you see the video of the big celebration at CERN a few years back? Extremely bizarre, satanic theatrical thing. Ok, edit changed to reflect the video I meant to insert.

What are your thoughts on Water Memory?
Doubt there's anything to it. I'm often considered a conspiracy nutjob, but I'm not a homeopathic buff. I'm well educated and firmly grounded in classical science, but then I also see clearly that Einstein and his relativity is pure bunk, a fineexample of Hitler's observation that if you repeat something often enough people will believe it, especially if their careers depend on it. There's very little real science out there anymore.

Are you refining uranium or something? Gee whiz bro just make a home distiller. Or buy one from aliexpress.
Thanks. Did consider all that, but have serious doubts about getting the quality needed. Even had to bug the clerks at Union Science to bring out the <2 microsiemen stuff and the price difference tells me that a DIY distiller wouldn't cut it. Now, for those asking WHY I need the high grade lab stuff, it's certainly not for any illicit purpose by any means, but would rather not steer the thread into that right now. Was considering broaching another issue about where to find a special herb, but again, it seems best not to mix it up that much. I simply wanted to contribute to the knowledge base at thaivisa and clarify to people the different options for getting distilled water and avoid making it too personal. Hope I've helped someone out there and thanks to all for your contributions as well. Do let me add, though, that pure distilled water isn't necessarily healthy, the body requires a good dose of certain minerals.

Of course, but I restrained myself from countering that contrary to your opinion, owning a smart TV doesn't make you smart. There are a hundred and one uses for distilled water, try learning about them.
