Yes,it's a boundary wall.Moving the guttering will not make it overhang the adjoining property too much. Anyway, my neighbour is very nice and will not object if it overhangs abit.

It's the standard concrete sheets about 3 foot long per piece. They only need to extend about 8 inches, then block up to it and reattach the guttering. Easy! I tell them what I want, but they don't listen. They are off today and Friday, but i call them back later to discuss this terrible work.

Not paid yet, as it is not finished. But, i will tell to remove the guttering, extend the roof panels and block up to the roof sheets. Then guttering can be reattached. If they don't want to do it, they can go!

Told them to remove the fiber board and block up the hole. You will need to move the guttering out! Yes, I can do it was the reply. I think they intend to render up to the fold in the guttering, but I'm sure it is going to leak!
  5. Actually, they are the best team i have had so far!!
  6. I have given them cardboard and put it down on the floor where they are working, but I cannot follow them around and watch them all of the time.
  7. I'm having some block work done and I am keeping my eye on the workers. I have told them to put cardboard on the floor to protect the tiles. However, I just noticed they stacked the concrete blocks on the floor and scratched the tiles!
  8. I agree. Also, foreigners that give a tip also add to the mentality that a higher price should be paid.
  9. Thanks. The square wave is a % duty cycle and that is what the alternator uses to determine the output charging rate. I don't really want to but a oscilloscope to diagnose this problem.
  10. Yes, I need to see that the ECU is is sending a voltage signal.
  11. To troubleshoot my alternator I need to read the signals sent to and from the ECU to the smart charge regulator. These are 0-5v dc square wave signals. Now, the troubleshooting guide says that an oscilloscope is needed. However, can I get a reading with a digital volt meter? I would give it a try, but the car is not running at the moment as a I am waiting for parts on back order. (Ford Thailand!)
  12. Thanks all for the constructive input.
  13. I have an appointment at the Amphur to get a yellow book and they requested that the Pu Yai Bann comes along. I have never met him and the Amphur gave me his mobile number. Now, do i need to pay him for this service?
  14. Why would divers pay for baht buses?
  15. Chachoengsao: I have just been there, and I must say they were very helpful. 2 pictures Wife's Tabien Barn & Id Card No 90 day report needed.
  16. I have just returned from the amphur to check my documents for a yellow book application. They asked me to get a certificate of residence from the Immigration office. As i have always had a work permit and never needed this before, what do i need to get this? I have a non O but i do not have a 90 day report.

All jobs were priced individually for some reason. Builder supplies blocks.

I had a builder come and give a quote for some work. One of the jobs is to add 4 rows of lightweight blocks on top of the back wall so it meets the kitchen roof. The total area needed to to be blocked and rendered is 14m2. For this the price given was 25,000bt!
  21. I went to the British Embassy and the MOFA today. British Embassy: No problems-less than 15 minutes to get a certified copy of my passport. Taxi to MOFA From the Embassy=250bt MOFA: The official/unofficial translation window on the second floor is gone! I talked to the paranoid women in the information booths. They had had put plastic over the speaking hole in the window and were wearing masks. It was very difficult to hear a word they said. Anyway, there are translators lurking on the second floor. I paid 2700bt for their express 2 day service. This included translation of my passport, submission to the MOFA, and return postage to my house. Plenty of taxis waiting outside. I hope this helps somebody.
  22. Krungthai told me today that no photo was needed even though a message in the app told me to go to the bank with my passport.
  23. I have just asked about this at Kasikorn: they didn't really know any details and they did not want my tax ID number! They said to go to the Revenue Department and ask there.
