  1. Currently I am on a one year marriage extension. My wife wants to divorce. I have a son born within the marriage and my name is on the birth certificate. I want to divorce with mutual consent at the amphur. After the divorce my one year marriage extension must be cancelled and I want to apply for a one year child support visa. I have more than 400k on my account. My son will live mostly with his mother. I will live elsewhere nearby.

    - Can I apply for a one year child support visa for having a Thai child?

    - Would I need full or shared custody over the child? Or can the mother have full custody?

    - Is the custody information included in the mutual consent divorce agreement? Or do you need another document for this.

    - Am I assumed to be the father just by showing the birth certificate?

  2. My 1 year extension based on marriage ends on 20/9/2019

I have to go abroad from 4/10/2019 to 15/10/2019
When I have to apply for my next one year extension in order not to get any problems?
I assume my 1 month consideration starts from the day I apply for a 1 year extension, right?
Can I travel during my under consideration period, taking into account my last 1 year extension has already expired?

  3. Well, the passbook shows all records higher than 400K (at lot of recent records too).
Only the 30 last records are printed by the terminal. The other are combined to one CMB record.
A record on 20/7/2016 has CMB in front of it, which means that all transaction on the account were combined to 1 record.
For instance, in February I had less than 400K on my account, but my passbook doesn't show it.
Theoretically, I could have had 0 baht on my account on 19/7/2016 with this passbook record.

  4. On 20/9/2016 my 1 year extension based on marriage expires.
So, today (6/9/2016) I went to update my passbook. My passbook shows the following:
04/01/16 "amount on account more than 400K"
20/07/16 CMB "amount on account more 400K"
... other normal records after 20/07/16 all more than 400K on account.
Now, the CMB-record means "combined", in other words, the details got lost and were combined in 1 record, because I didn't regularly update my passbook.
If immigration knows what CMB means, they could think my account was below 400K at a moment before 20/7/16 (it wasn't, but anyway).

My question: if I go to extend my visa tomorrow on 07/09/16, will I be OK?

  5. Ok, my plan:
    1. I consult immigration office here to ask if a letter of my local city hall would be accepted and/or if a letter is necessary.
    2. I enter Belgium.
    3. I apply for a new passport in Belgium
    4. I ask the city hall if they can write than letter in English (if necessary).
    - If they can not : I apply for a new non-immigrant-O visa and ask for a new 1 year extension in Thailand. This would break my visa-extension chain, but I never managed to get any benefit from that chain anyway.
    - If they can: I take a old passport with reentry permit and new blank passport with me to enter Thailand. I get stamped in the new passport according to the reentry permit in the old passport. I go to immigration to transfer the other stamps.

    I guess that would work.

Edit: thinking about it. There are a lot of steps and goodwill involved in this choice (both of my city hall and immigration). I might just choose to apply for a new non-immigrant-O visa.

  6. I plan to apply for a new passport in my home country.
Because of a new rule it's not possible to get a new passport in my embassy as long as I have an official residency in Belgium.
I want to keep my residency in Belgium because it will make going back easier and I still have a house there.
Therefore I would like to travel back home and apply for a new passport there.

The problem is that I have a non-immigrant-o extension valid until mid september and a reentry permit. This is my 6th consecutive 1 year extension.

If I apply for a new passport in Belgium, my local city hall will probably not want to write a letter to transfer the immigration stamps, because they have no knowledge about such letter.

So, suppose I would arrive in Thailand with:
    - my old passport with reentry permit
    - my new blank passport
    - and without any letter asking to transfer the stamps

Will I be allowed to stay until my extension in my old passport expires?
Will I be able to transfer the stamps to my new passport?

An alternative would to apply for a new non-O visa in Belgium. But this would break my 6 year consecutive extension chain.

  7. Maybe some explanation about the security warning:

The warning says that the certificate used is not issued by a certification authority.

You communication with the website is encrypted.

There's no risk that a third party, other than you and the owner of the website could intercept the communication.

If you choose to ignore the warning there is a risk that the owner of the website shown here is not immigration.
Somebody (either a virus on your computer or anyone hosting the website on the internet) could have taken over the URL, build his own website that looks exactly like the immigration website and misuse your data.
I think this risk is relatively small because there's not much to gain by an attack specifically on this website.

  8. You'll not get deported for this - they are after your money and should not have told you this.

On Monday tell them kindly but clearly you'll not accept any fine higher than the going rate and you want to have a receipt and ใบสั่ง in case they would think it's necessary to give you a fine.
