We know Steve had 2 daughters. Presumably his income was supporting those 2 daughters. We know Steve had a health scare in the past, possibly due to weight and alcohol issues. That was a warning shot. He continued the same lifestyle with reckless abandon. To me, this is a loser.

So now, presumably his young daughters have lost their father and some emotional/financial support. Totally avoidable. To me, this is a loser.

He had the chance to do the right thing. He knew what he was doing was wrong for many many reasons and did nothing but dig a deeper hole. To me, this is a loser.

No different than parents who make babies and then stick them on a motorbike with no helmet. To me, this is a loser.

The article says he was a heavy drinker and known for his excessive lifestyle and himself did not expect to live long. Lucky for him the death was swift and no prolonged agony.

Although I wouldn't label him a loser on a forum out of respect I can't argue with your reasoning.

I had a bar just off of walking st for 13 years and thought I hit it hard but I'd wager that he put more booze away then me.

My mate owned the Blues Factory. Biggest drunk I knew. Smashed his body up numerous times on his motorbike even though he has 2 young children and a wife.

2 grown up step kids though.

Worst injury I had was when I decided not to use the bike and used a motorbike taxi instead who crashed.

Definitely taxis whilst on the piss when I'm back in September.

I am disgusted. I cannot believe how many ignorant, insensitive comments have been posted on here. Steve was a pleasant and jovial character. Expats around the country knew him from their time in Pattaya and would appreciate his demise being posted on ThaiVisa.

No, he loved his daughter, even if he didnt get along with the ex wife , there's no motive for her to kill him. He gave them financial support on a monthly basis. I just think he was heavily intoxicated, he met the LB on beach rd, they went to the short time room and then something happened, maybe the LB killed him, maybe he just fell and hit his head.

If the assets are already in her name and the divorce settlement is done and dusted then why have him bumped off?

Also now of course the ex and the daughter lose the monthly support that he gave them.

So why is the tourist found dead after sex with a ladybug have to do with this story? Sounds like he was killed by his wife boyfriend then planted in the room and paid the ladybug to say he died while having sex with It. Murder plan and simple if the two stories are related. There ain't that much romping in the world where you would fall off a ladybug and hit your head.

This is Pattaya, a massive city of brothels. It is a LONG way from the real Thailand.

I feel sad for the little girl. Not only is she being brought up in such a hellhole of a city but one day she will find out exactly what happened to her dad by using google.

Hopefully, he was smart enough to have paternity test made to be sure it was indeed his child. RIP to the victim.

Because, as I pointed out in #7, there were contrasting stories in different UK newspapers, and this was 24 hours before it made the Thai press.

The stories been out there for a while whereas the missing story hasn't really.

Pretty bad reporting by the Daily Record if you ask me.

No I won't post the story that seems to be attached to the cause but yes he's definitely been found.

His friends and family have set up a Facebook page to try and get him back home.

I'm not convinced that just 'living' in a country is a passport to another culture. You could be living in a bubble! Lots of expats do it seems. I'm not saying you do, just be aware that there are.

I know lots of British people in France who have lived here for donkeys and don't speak a word of French, apart from thank you. I know at least one person who's been here for 15+ years and would know few numbers between 1 and 20 without counting from 1. She has no idea how to get an MOT done or how to fill in a form and totally relies on others to do things for her. Similarly, I know people who've lived in the Middle East for 20+ years and can't speak a single sentence in Arabic, not even: "I'm sorry. I can't speak Arabic". They know nothing of the statistics of the country...or have any friends who are locals.

Just sayin'

Also seen lots of expats like this. Not willing to adapt or try to fit in etc.

I don't understand the problem. If the news is posted on the web, it's already out there in some form or other. We just can't find it. I've seen one one article carrying his name and the photo looks nothing like him. It's not out of the question that two people with the same name lived in the same city, but if the photo is anything to go by (a large heavy man) compared to the one in the tabloid, they aren't the same person!

You're being unecessarily 'politically correct' and the older generation are getting tired of people of this attitude. We may not say it, but we are.

I imagine it will be all over the international newspapers soon enough,yet another horror story from Thailand so I don't see that your not wanting it to get out will make a lot of difference?

As for the link it is just to harvest emails from here,nothing more I'm afraid quite despicable behaviour under the circumstances!
