  1. GroveBags. Once you go TerpLoc bags, you will never go back to using jars.
  2. Mr. Meeseeks just high AF. Giving ya’ll a rile up.. keep hittin’ that Chronic meeks.
  3. As for the IPTV service and related Android box, I would also say that True has been the best so far as well even if the box needs a kick every 3-5 days. TOT was barely functional and AIS seemed to be pretty good but the DSL would constantly go down in us so would the IPTV obviously. We still use PSI for all Thai TVs though since its a must have with the wife.
  4. Many eons ago I tried using both SCB and Kasikorn debit cards outside of thailand to answer the same question. SCB had a net 3.5% international usage charge and Kasikorn was about 2.5%. Nowadays I try to use Wise with local currency spend which is usually just 0.6% for the FX conversation and thats it.
  5. Our True Fiber service has been down all of 5 minutes this year at least during the day. We had NT fiber at our last place and it would go down minimum 3 times a week for at least an hour or more each time. Plus the usual early morning DHCP IP release and renew which would count as additional service outage. We had AIS in our Suk 42 condo and it was a constant headache, down constantly. Anyway, we have been very happy with True lately..
  6. Daytime weather is still pretty warm though. Hit 34 today up here but it will get down to 21 at night
  7. Thai ETF (THD) down 17% YTD.. Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) up 40% YTD. Yes I would love to invest in thai stocks to be a successful investor…
  8. Thx for the report. I will also continue going this route as it is still the easiest way to avoid dealing with the gestapo and their ruthless policies and procedures.
  9. Meanwhile, local expats with the means to travel and spend domestically are shunned by the TAT with lack of discounts/incentives, are threatened to be hit with new taxes by the RD and continued overzealous immigration requirements and procedures. For me personally, I don’t spend excess savings on domestic tourism anymore. Instead, we spend lavishly outside the country. For January, we have a lovely Swiss trip planned which would otherwise be done in a high season place like Samui or Phuket in earlier years.
  10. Last time I checked, KL uses an appointment system now and all immediately available spots are taken by local agents it seems. You may want to look at their site and be sure to secure an appointment before showing up otherwise you may be out of luck. Worse case you could hire a local agent to take care if it.
  11. I would NEVER sign a rental contract in Thailand unless you have copies of the owners Thai ID card or foreign passport, house book and chanote. All documents should be in the same name too! If you cannot get all of the above, you may have a hard time with immigration services.
  12. Ok so Wise has finally come through and has refunded the fraudulent charges and has cancelled the Visa debit card. New card offered at no charge. Still not too happy with the 5 days it took to respond though.
  13. Same here as the financial aspect has never been an issue, its more the displeasure of dealing with the arduous extension process and the angry IOs.
  14. 5. Not having to deal with rogue offices that want a bribe just to submit a completely legitimate non-o extension application. 6. Not having to deal with angry, loud mouthed, non-english speaking IOs that start shouting at you and your wife for simply filing a TM30. 7. Not having to wait for hours at a time to submit the application and then having to show up again 30 days later, wait another few hours to receive the remaining 11-month stamp.
  15. I filed the dispute case with Wise within 1 hour of receiving the transaction email alerts. So far, nothing from Wise about the case. I have taken out pretty much all funds at this point and will only be using my credit cards moving forward.
  16. yes indeed. The Wise visa debit card issued to me is from the US through a US bank (Community Federal Savings).
  17. It is a Visa debit card though which is supposed to have cardholder protections.
  18. Finally received an email from wise but it was not from the dispute team. They just said it could be about a week before I receive a response. I have since withdrawn just about all funds from the account as I do not have a high level or comfort and satisfaction regarding the treatment of the dispute case.
  19. Yea i get that. Regardless whether its a debit or credit card, if it is visa, mastercard, unionpay, amex, etc., the holder is protected from fraudulent charges.
  20. Cheers for that. Whoever has my debit card derails continues to make charges to my account for the last two days as well! All have been declined since I froze the card though. Nothing from Wise even after the dispute was filed and a separate email was sent. I can’t seem to find a contact number for them as well.
  21. I have credit cards as well since Wise limits per transaction to $2000. Wise is very useful when paying for things in currency other then USD since credit card companies ding you for 3% FX fee alongside a terrible exchange rate.
  22. My understanding is that each and every single Thai Baht note and coin ever issued by the BOT is still valid and accepted. Unlike neighboring countries who from time to time call in notes and shortly thereafter are no longer redeemable making them worthless.
  23. After using my Wise visa debit card for numerous travel related expenses (AirAsia, Thai, Agoda, etc.), I was fraudulently debited over $800 from some India based grocery delivery service. I have filed the dispute case with Wise but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears with no reply, response or action since this occured a few days ago. It seems way to easy for anyone to use a number generator script to find out card info and start charging away. I have since placed a freeze/lock on every single credit/debit card that I have and will only unlock when I make a charge. However does make it tough when you have other monthly recurring charges though (Netflix, Expat Mail Box, YT, etc.) Anyways, be safe out there!
  24. Consider the fact that some of us need this visa type for the legitimate purpose of living with our wives due to rogue immigration offices that want bundles of baht (via agent) just to accept/process a completely legitimate non-o visa extension application. I’m not saying all offices are like this and we have done 2 annual extensions with very professional and polite IOs at other offices before. The office where we live was part of a larger ring of offices which were caught processing visa extensions illegally for Chinese triads so yes, this offices is and continues to make problems.
  25. One of the many reasons why we bailed out of BKK. It just gets worse each year and there is never a solution provided to the problem. It now spreads to Hua Hin and Pattaya as well. Living upcountry can be tough but at least we got clean air.
