I had used DM many times before without issues. Sometimes the transfer would arrive a day or two later then they say in their guarantee though. Recently they stalled a transfer of mine by asking to see my thai bank statement showing the last 3 month’s transactions including the last transaction showing the actual DM transfer which of course is not reflected in the statement until the next business day. So be advised that you may be asked for bank statements and if you cant provide, your money could be stalled for 7-10 days from what other users have posted. Personally I wont use their services anymore after this last ordeal.

It may not be an issue but no guarantees. The signed ID card and house book should suffice. Definitely bring the original marriage certificate, both of them would be best to show current marriage is intact. From my experience, the consular officer there flips through everything very quickly and efficiently, i have only seen them hassle tourist visa applications that show too many issued already.

Before signing a rental contract, it is advised to obtain the Thai ID or passport copy of the registered owner, copy of their current thai house book and copy of the house book for the unit/house you are renting and a copy of the land title. I would never hand over a deposit let alone sign a rental contract without having copies of all the above.

Thanks to thai immigration who wants 35k baht to even consider my fully legitimate and qualified application for extension of stay. Married to a Thai national means pay up nowadays. Heads up on using DeeMoney, did a transfer request and they sent me an email asking me to provide my bank statement for the last 3 months and it must show the latest transfer amount as well. Not too happy as this has delayed the transfer now. Be advised I have heard of others having these same issues recently.

I would say its too late. That boat has already sailed years ago. Vietnam and Indonesia have beat Thailand to the punch years ago. FDI has exploded in those countries while in Thai, its dropped dramatically. The final straw forJapanese companies in particular has been too strong THB compared to other ASEAN countries along with ridiculous immigration reporting requirements.
