  1. Make your own as I did. Tomatoes very ripe, red bell pepper, chili peppers to your liking, onion, coriander, lemon juice and salt. 15 minutes job and keeps for say 10 days in the fridge. You learn to make do with what you have.
  2. Had one on Samui a really long time ago. Now just cooking for friends. Too old and too damn hot. Thanks so much.
  3. Forget Mexican food in Thailand. I learned that the hard way. I have not found that to be the case at all. Avocados are always available, Along with Pok Chee or corriander leaves, onions both red a white also. They have Mission wraps which are the best flour tortillas you will find here. They carry dried pinto beans, along with cumin and Mexican chili powder. Tomatoes both tinned and fresh are always there and they carry more than one kind of tortilla chips. What more do you want. You have guacamole, salsa cruda, and tacos, burritos or enchiladas to your hearts content. Few days ago whipped up this carnitas pork, perfect with some cheese topped refried beans along with fresh salsa.
  4. Thankfully its not connected to the house. But they are going to have to pull it down this year, as they can't get doors or windows to close anymore, even having them planed several times is just prolonging the inevitable.
  5. Up2U. I had to take out a beautiful sala that covered the sunken water tank, so the tank went as well along with our biggest mango tree in order to get the piling machine in the correct place. But once again its the only way to stop it. Our neighbor went your way, his kitchen is now leaning about 20 degrees off center.
  6. Bingo, The only way to stop the sinking is with pilings. I learned the hard way by doing what you want to do. It cost a fortune to dig out all the rebar and concrete I had put in on my back porch that was only slightly sinking. Had to dig it all up 5 years later and put in the pilings due to said sinking. Well its not sinking anymore.
  7. Except that 90 day reports are free.
  8. My point exactly.
  9. Why did you plan a project with your students and have no idea how to do it? No idea where they can physically see one, and then no idea where to buy what you need to make it. Sorry but it just makes no sense.
  10. Dont ever use a real gun you will shoot yourself. ????
  11. They were here then especially here in Thailand. Lower end places to stay had the bucket and dripper, and you still find them up country often.
  12. That is great to hear. Maybe somehow this will filter both up and down to other immigration offices throughout the country. That is how it should be. Thanks for the report.
  13. Mine cleared last night. Woke up to approved. Load off my shoulders.
  14. No bars other than the guest house restaurants, and 30 baht a night. Circa 1989.
  15. For sure they have increased, but not by double let alone triple. Could you provide a link or an example?
  16. ^ If I put my irrational worrying to the side it seems that they were closed big time 13,14 and then the 17th. I heard the 18th was a madhouse at CW, so I am thinking they must be well backed up due to Songkran holidays. I will let mine go through the weekend, but if nothing I will make the trip to CW Monday early and get it cleared up.
  17. Thanks mate, sitting here listening to the recording at Immigration. "Please stay on the line, we are assisting other callers, all of our officers are busy........????
  18. 40+ years ago, Chaweng beach Koh Samui with only 2 bungalow guest houses built, we did close to the same. Made the raft, used sheets for a sail and got out about just as far. Started falling apart so left it and swam back in. 3 days of good fun building it and playing around. No internet to entertain us back then.
  19. Miss Grand Suphan Buri is right up there with Miss Universe. Wow!!!
  20. Ouch, probably because it was the first day open after a long holiday closure. My report is due on the 20th as well. I got the reminder on the 12th and did it immediately online. With 13,14, and 17 being closed it is pending. I am hoping it clears as I would have to go on Monday the 24th to clear that up. So good luck. It wont be as crowded from now on. But that is the only office I know for BKK.
  21. Did until this part. Dont be so negative, a good and dependable shop for anything is a great thing here. Just think how dependable air conditioner service is doing now.
  22. Not a prepper but a canner. You can get canning jars online from Lazada, or more expensive at Ikea.
  23. They will do nothing in heat like we are currently having.
  24. I have question for you. How the hell can you live like that? Seriously inside and outside where you live is a dump, a literal dump. If you have a suitcase I would advise packing it and getting out. Just to think over time how you have chosen to live and accept living literally in a garbage pile.
