  1. I use Siam bank and Bangkok bank, I find that Bangkok bank has fees for everthing, so I shy away from them. Both banks will cash american checks, but the fee is much higher than 10 baht. it is around 300-600 baht. I set up a swift from my US bank to my siam bank. cost is $40 for any amount. used to be $25 but with banks having to pay all the law suites, prices went up. So I just do it couple times a year, bring over large amounts. I did the direct deposit at Bankkok bank, but you pay 2 fees and it adds up. JMO

When/where can I get info on events for big and small bikes?? We've got 2 small ones(bikes, I mean) and want to play.

Check with guys in Surin, Dave or Ron... I am taking a step back here, I am getting ready to move back to the States, so letting them take the lead on this. Posters went up in Patts, with Dave number on them....

  3. I am on an extension to stay of a retirment visa. my 90 day report was 12 Aug. Now in jul I left the country, with a reentry permit. I came back in countrly on 2 Aug. Now doe that not change my 90 day report to 2 November....they did not change the reporting slip in my passport? Do I need to report to get that updated?

  4. Rode HD in the states, when I got here got a Dragstar 1100 classic, while it was a nice bike, never any problems, it was not a HD. I am preparing to move back to the states, have just brought my old bike back from my friend 2001 Wide Glide, for the wife, and am picking up a new Heritage for me. It is all about riding, but if I were to stay here I would have to get a HD....

  5. parts and service everywhere almost, in Issan, you have surin, Sisket, Udon, Khon Khen, Ubon, Korat all have people work on them, and can get parts. mostly from Bangkok, the one in Sisket orders from overseas himself. so reall no problem anywhere,

  6. Agree, and I have joined so many others here and just don't pay. they can't turn you off, everyone has the same username and password. On many days I just use my cell phone.

When you first sign up they 'turn you on' via your units cell number, not the name and password. They may not have got round to turning you off yet, but they will.

there are folks that I know that have not ever paid a bill....over 2 years

  7. I have had my BBQ from Doc for 4 years now, it is as good today and the first day. It gets used daily by myself or wife, or her mother. It has been used as a oven many times. Great Product from a Great company....thanks Doc

  8. A answer to your other question, who nobody answered, becarefull of driving yourself or better DON'T. If you cause a accident, a Thai is, can be in trouble, A farang is always in trouble, a farang without a licence is in deep shit. So please try to find someone who can drive you down.

My girlfriend doesn't want me to drive at all, and i have a international drivinglicence and be a trucker, just because of the enormous fines and pay offs of familys.

Her son hit a child a couple of months back, driving without a licence and insurance, 225.000 bath.

    so becare full son.

    Chock dee.

Why no one responded to it, because if you have a valid driver's license so you MUST know this.

Thanks for the good replies, and thank you Cardholder for your opinion of posts like that one I got from Langsuan Man, it gets a little frustrating sometimes. I think I will just take care of my tambien ban (yellow book) and be done with this kind of problem. Khop khun mak mak.

    mario299 :jap:

Some land offices (Surin) are not accepting the yellow book anymore. A friend just tried to renew his license and was told will not accept need letter of Rediency. This also when he brought his new motorcycle, wiould not accept yellow book...and that was Bangkok land office......
