  1. "Thailand’s main tourist attractions remain half empty" So 90,000 "tourists" have entered this month and tourists attractions are half full? How did they handle the 3.3 Million tourists a month in 2019 if that's the case lol
  2. "It has been three weeks since the country reopened to vaccinated tourists and there has been no spike in the number of daily Covid " I find this very mis-leading as the figures include all 3 schemes of Test & Go (from 1 Nov), Sandbox (re-opened 1 Jul) and unvaccinated Full Quarantine (re-opened ages ago) The Test & Go scheme has most of the arrivals (69,809) with only about 0.08% tested positive since it started 3 weeks ago so why would there be a spike? I wish they would report Test & Go separately as then they might realise how low risk this really is and drop some of hoops
  3. Well it is as hotels now have to get certified SHA++ to qualify for Test & Go (and people can still book SHA+ by mistake) Edit: Actually Thai Pass application says ++ is for Sandbox as well
  4. TAT now say hotel must be SHA Extra + (SHA++) for Test & Go "A confirmed payment for a 1-night stay at a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++)* accommodation, and 1 RT-PCR test." "SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotels are those that meet the Amazing Thailand SHA Plus standard and provide an accommodation service in partnership with certified hospitals for the RT-PCR test. The list of the SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotels is available" here https://web.thailandsha.com/shaextraplus. https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/thailand-reopening-exemption-from-quarantine-test-go/ Edit: Thai Pass application now also updated to require SHA++ - Booking for 1 day on approved SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel Approved List: SHA Extra+ AQ Hotel
  5. TAT say Hotel has to be SHA++ now "A confirmed payment for a 1-night stay at a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++)* accommodation, and 1 RT-PCR test." https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/thailand-reopening-exemption-from-quarantine-test-go/
  6. OP says Cars are being done as well. "The latest crackdown from November 10th to 20th saw 19,046 motorcycles confiscated and 118 cars seized nationwide."
  7. That's what the SHA+ certification was supposed to mean. Since Phuket opened 1 July, transport and PCR were required to be pre-paid through the hotel or you wouldn't get a COE. As these were SHA+ hotel bookings approved for a Thailand Pass, it's not "pretty dumb" guests as you say, the hotels should be banned from the program and guests refunded the extra costs
  8. I worked in Saudi for 5 years where we couldn't openly interact with women, drink or celebrate Xmas/NYE. I can't believe Thailand thinks we'll jump through hoops at huge cost just to enjoy the same experience lol
  9. Yep, TAT started with SHA, then SHA+ and now it's SHA ++ to sort this problem. All with higher costs of compliance being passed on to us of course Stands by for SHA+++ coming soon before we're allowed a beer at 200 baht each ????
  10. I didn't come when it was 14 days quarantine or 7 days, but when they said Thailand was opening back up I was really excited to return. To see everything in Pattaya closed, masks mandatory everywhere, no groups allowed, no drinking except on the curb and huge fines for any offense. How is that open, in my country, that's a pretty serious Lockdown! Add on all the well publicized scams for hotel, taxi and insurance Return to 'Amazing Thailand' is just getting further and further away in my mind (only need to come back to sort my condo).
  11. I previously got a ban for 48 hours because I said something about an ASEAN news article, was advised it was abuse of a moderator just because they posted it? If ASEAN keep posting this daily <deleted> where they can't even put a paragraph together, might as well ban me for life
  12. I don't eat McDonald's in Thailand since about 2016, so you're probably right. Burger King had the 99 baht whoppers in 2019 though ????
  13. 18 million tourists spending 1 trillion baht? I'm guessing they factored in the scam covid insurance, mandatory prison when no symptoms, 1 night quarantine hotel and PCR test and ATK
  14. Where does this idea of bringing only wealthy tourists come from? What was great about Thailand is it was cheap so your money goes 3 times as far... all changed in 2019 when a Big Mac meal now costs more than in Australia or US ????
  15. Thing is, if we've been waiting 2 years and not come back, pretty easy to wait a couple of months more until they wake up and drop all the <deleted> for entry
  16. I'm a property owner and even I'm not coming. Haven't seen my condo in 2 years
  17. Can't believe I even clicked on this, Thailand can go and get F#$%^*
  18. Nah, smart people aren't coming, and neither are the drunks as nothing open
  19. What I remember is the seats have what look like dildos, anyone know why they did this lol (can't find a pic)
  20. Meanwhile 1400 people have arrived since 1 Nov in the unvaccinated quarantine scheme I read the funniest stuff on this board sometimes
  21. No they don't. 3 schemes to enter Thailand, 3rd scheme is unvaccinated travellers that could be staying at same hotel under hard quarantine.
  22. Why, I've lost my TM6 twice now. Just grabbed a new one from airline check in and filled it out. Wasn't a problem
