"Thailand’s main tourist attractions remain half empty" So 90,000 "tourists" have entered this month and tourists attractions are half full? How did they handle the 3.3 Million tourists a month in 2019 if that's the case lol

Covid numbers not spiking three weeks after reopening
aussiexpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"It has been three weeks since the country reopened to vaccinated tourists and there has been no spike in the number of daily Covid " I find this very mis-leading as the figures include all 3 schemes of Test & Go (from 1 Nov), Sandbox (re-opened 1 Jul) and unvaccinated Full Quarantine (re-opened ages ago) The Test & Go scheme has most of the arrivals (69,809) with only about 0.08% tested positive since it started 3 weeks ago so why would there be a spike? I wish they would report Test & Go separately as then they might realise how low risk this really is and drop some of hoops -
Hotels require SHA++ now for Test & Go
aussiexpat replied to aussiexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Well it is as hotels now have to get certified SHA++ to qualify for Test & Go (and people can still book SHA+ by mistake) Edit: Actually Thai Pass application says ++ is for Sandbox as well -
TAT now say hotel must be SHA Extra + (SHA++) for Test & Go "A confirmed payment for a 1-night stay at a SHA Extra Plus (SHA++)* accommodation, and 1 RT-PCR test." "SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotels are those that meet the Amazing Thailand SHA Plus standard and provide an accommodation service in partnership with certified hospitals for the RT-PCR test. The list of the SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) hotels is available" here https://web.thailandsha.com/shaextraplus. https://www.tatnews.org/2021/10/thailand-reopening-exemption-from-quarantine-test-go/ Edit: Thai Pass application now also updated to require SHA++ - Booking for 1 day on approved SHA Extra+ or AQ hotel Approved List: SHA Extra+ AQ Hotel
-
That's what the SHA+ certification was supposed to mean. Since Phuket opened 1 July, transport and PCR were required to be pre-paid through the hotel or you wouldn't get a COE. As these were SHA+ hotel bookings approved for a Thailand Pass, it's not "pretty dumb" guests as you say, the hotels should be banned from the program and guests refunded the extra costs

I didn't come when it was 14 days quarantine or 7 days, but when they said Thailand was opening back up I was really excited to return. To see everything in Pattaya closed, masks mandatory everywhere, no groups allowed, no drinking except on the curb and huge fines for any offense. How is that open, in my country, that's a pretty serious Lockdown! Add on all the well publicized scams for hotel, taxi and insurance Return to 'Amazing Thailand' is just getting further and further away in my mind (only need to come back to sort my condo).

Where does this idea of bringing only wealthy tourists come from? What was great about Thailand is it was cheap so your money goes 3 times as far... all changed in 2019 when a Big Mac meal now costs more than in Australia or US ????

It’s expats, not tourists that are visiting Thailand: Business leader
aussiexpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thing is, if we've been waiting 2 years and not come back, pretty easy to wait a couple of months more until they wake up and drop all the <deleted> for entry -

What I remember is the seats have what look like dildos, anyone know why they did this lol (can't find a pic) -
Why, I've lost my TM6 twice now. Just grabbed a new one from airline check in and filled it out. Wasn't a problem
