  1. You ask a question and get good advice and then respond back with this rant So you're just trolling this thread then (as per most threads you post in)
  2. Yeah, so wierd that my Pattaya Krungsi account can pay MEA but not PEA. I paid 200 baht to a girl in juristic office and she went to PEA and set up direct debit for me. Works perfectly Edit: I had to get a letter from Krungsi first and then she dealt with PEA
  3. How is USD the standard for many tourists? Maybe for Americans and Middle East workers paid in USD linked currencies, but why would anyone else care about a USD price?
  4. You did see the ???? which means it's a joke right. I guess price of milk in your life is a very serious matter so no joking allowed lol
  5. Maneerat has a sign saying 2300 for Cambodia border run. Hope that's his current price and hasn't just left the old sign
  6. So glad I never retired in Pattaya if the price of milk becomes the main topic of conversation ????
  7. All the current daily AA meetings are in the link below (click on meeting name for full details) https://aathailand.org/all-meetings?field_regions_value=Eastern+Seaboard-Jomtien-Pattaya-Islands&field_meeting_day_value=All
  8. Not according to this. "The driver, 61 year old Maethanat Leeliang, gave himself up to the police after the hit-and-run incident in Pattaya. Maethanat told police he was unaware he had hit the foreigner and only found out when the story went viral on social media" https://thethaiger.com/news/national/driver-surrenders-to-police-after-hit-and-run-in-pattaya
  9. Could be as little as a 2000 baht fine according to the link below: "According to Sections 78 and 160 of the Land Traffic Act, any drivers who cause damages to another person or another person’s assets and do not stop to provide help will face imprisonment of up to three months, a fine from 2,000 to 10,000 baht or both. If the victim was seriously injured or killed, the penalty will be harder: up to six months in prison and a 5,000 to 20,000 baht fine" https://thethaiger.com/news/national/british-man-injured-in-hit-and-run-incident-in-pattaya
  10. "after we finished in Central i said to the wife lets try and dodge the traffic and get a taxi to Soi Buchow so the wife asked a taxi at the rank on second road. 400 baht i thought she was joking but no that is what they wanted for basically 5 mins in a taxi" Soi Bukhao is the next street over from 2nd road where you were, so definitely not a 5 min taxi ride (lucky to be 4-5 min walk). Why would anyone need a taxi to go one block? They probably thought you were crazy so charged a crazy price
  11. He also walked off a first time and then collapsed and had to be carried back to his seat. Who knows what happened 50 metres down the road? That's the point, in Aussie you call an Ambulance, he goes to hospital for tests, likely stays overnight for monitoring....here no-one seemed to want to get involved, just let him walk away...he had no idea what was going on (the bruise on his face was massive from the first barstool fall, never mind the reason for the first fall) Just hope if something happens to me I'm with a friend who will call an Ambulance as strangers don't seem to want to?
  12. Thanks, have now added 1669 to my phone as I had no clue what number to call
  13. I was never concerned about the responsibility, never gave it a thought. That only came up in this thread hours after the incident and I said I would have been happy to pay for ambulance if I called it (hospital bill not so much) I was holding him up to stop him falling again (while he was violently shaking) and asked at least 3 times to call an Ambulance (as I couldn't). Everyone ignored the request, hence the question in this thread
  14. I can tell you none of that was ever a consideration. We just wanted him to live because we thought he was dying
  15. Why would anyone call the police instead of Ambulance?
  16. Actually kudos to a brit guy who immediately ran 10 metres to help the guy, I only kicked in after I saw him do this even though I was next table Talking to him later he said 'I only did what I hope anyone would do if it was me lying there"
  17. He was unconscious twice and when awake couldn't answer any questions, just staring into space
  18. I get that which is why I didn't call and land him with a huge bill (and none of other 50 people wanted to call ambulance or even help, only 2 of us and bar staff helped) Are we just to leave him to chance and hope he doesn't die rather than call an Ambulance like in most countries I'm thinking of wearing a sign saying please call Ambulance if potentially dying, I'll pay
  19. He didnt say no to an Ambulance or a hospital. He wasn't answering any of my questions. It's like wasn't there I would have been happy to pay for it as he looked like he was dying
  20. I'm thinking if I did call an Ambulance without his consent I should have to pay for it? He was out of it not answering questions. If that was me I hope someone called an Ambulance instead of just giving me water
  21. Have you thought about turning on the aircon, you know the exact thing they are designed for ????
  22. I just experienced an Indian tourist fall off his barstool and start convulsions on the floor. We got him up and he wasn't speaking and was shaking. He seemed to come good, but wouldn't answer any of my questions (he was sitting near me so I know he spoke perfect english) Bar staff and customers gave him water and sat him down, but I was saying call an Ambulance. A minute later he collapsed again and I had to hold him up from falling off his stool. He then only answered one of my 10 questions, like has this happened before, where do you live, do you want Ambulance, do you want hospital, etc... the only question he answered was RUOK, he said no I don't have a headache, so nothing related to the question (he had a huge bruise on forehead from falling off stool onto tiles so concussion?) I tried to take him to hospital 200m away but he refused and walked off. When do we call Ambulance if person is in this condition? Note: he wasn't drunk, he was drinking only water before this
  23. They better be able to, people all over the World own more than one property so it would be ridiculous if they couldnt
  24. Maybe the 49/51% foriegner/Thai ownership rule? Have they sold too many to foriegners and no Thai interested to buy the rest?
  25. A tourist asks about needing to carry a passport at all times.... Answered very easily, take a copy of PP ID page and entry/extension stamp and leave PP at hotel/condo. Instead, 6 pages of "see how special I am with pink card and Thai drivers licence that I don't need passport" crowd that doesn't help the OP one bit lol
