We're now 5 hours into the "everyone will rush to quarantine free Thailand, which really means we'll lock you up until we have skimmed enough baht" Have 1500 "tourists" (5/24 of 7000) arrived to the prison scam yet? And we thought the infamous jet ski scams were bad enough to make World news lol -

At the same time, why quote passenger numbers and 440 flights only to say that 100 of those are cargo flights ( with no passengers obviously). It implies that they count the 300 flight crew on those 100 cargo flights in the number of 7000 international tourists/visitors -
For one, brits aren't known around the world for expertly forging education documents, so a covid vaccine dicument should be pretty simple in India. I think India actually has the lowest vaccination rate of any country on the list ( even lower than Thailand), so if verified vaccines, not really an issue

Feels like Christmas eve....expecting a present of 7000 international arrivals...will we be ecstatic that it's exceeded, pleasantly surprised to get what was asked for, or devastated and embarrassed to get nothing near it.... I'm going the latter but hope I'm wrong as I do love Thailand ???? -
"...Indians should be included in the 'low risk' list as Indian tourists are amongst the top 5 spenders in Thailand..." If above justifies India being added to the Covid 'low risk' list, then Russia needs to lift their game. Surely they should be added for being the biggest drinkers of Vodka in Thailand ????

7,000 international arrivals due at Suvarnabhumi on Monday

So according to TAT, there have been 58,685 arrivals in Phuket sandbox in last 4 months. Of these, they say 196 tested positive on arrival (0.33%). For this "massive %' of positive tests, the mandatory insurance would have cost travellers about 176 million baht (assuming 3,000 bt per person). With only 196 positive, most likely without symptoms, that's a pretty impressive scam, oops I mean profit...which is about to be their biggest earner if the arrival numbers go up like they say https://www.tatnews.org/ -

As Airlines and Swampy will already know the facts about how many international passengers will arrive on 1 November, their credibility will really be shot if its not the 7000 as announced.... -

"...7,000 of the 30,000 arrivals will be from international flights..." So Thailand has been averaging about 475 per day for the two Sandbox's over last 4 months, nice 1473% predicted increase -

Pubs and bars to remain closed in 17 pilot areas after November 1
aussiexpat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When family and friends ask why I would retire in Thailand when I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Australia, I always answer "because it's cheap and every night can be like New Years Eve if you want it to be" Sadly, the November 1 plan is not that so I would not reccomend it to anyone ???? -

Sorry that your life means you can't comprehend that people wouldn't have insurance, but some of us have had very successful lives so that we don't need it, it's called self funded retirement which includes paying your own medical bills -

No, the 45 vs 46 countries is the political debate as to whether listing China means you don't need to list Hong Kong -

UAE is on the list of 46 approved countries, however if you were only transiting you would have been okay too 1. Travel by air from the approved countries. Currently, Thailand has approved quarantine-free entry for arrivals from Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, UK, USA, and Hong Kong. -

Oh well, that's the November 1 plan off the list...looking forward to the December 1 plan, or even the January 1 plan (if I don't go to Bali or US instead) -
I'm guessing the mandatory 1 night stay in the "Quarantine⁹ Free" hotel will cost about 7,000 baht* Plus approx. 3,000 baht for 30 days mandatory covid insurance Plus approx. 3,000 baht for mandatory pre-departure PCR That's 13,000 baht additional costs before I take one step in free Thailand to get that ice cold beer while mingling with smiling girls...oh wait * 1 night hotel booking is supposed to include transport from airport, PCR test on arrival and an ATK the tourist takes with them for self test on day 6-7
-
Thanks for the update. The latest rules indicate 1 night hotel booking must include a PCR test on arrival and an Aantigen Test Kit (ATK) for Tourist to take with them for the 6-7 day self test. I'm Assuming these prices don't include the PCR and ATK as one hotel is 1999 baht? On the other hand, the other four hotels seem to have significant cost for 1 night (compared to 7 day rate) 3900 (16500) 6500 (23900) 5800 (13800) 6500 (19000) Other 1999 (19000)
