visa requirements
aussiexpat replied to Aussie999's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For retirement, he needs either 800k baht in Thai bank or 65k baht monthly income into Thai bank (you make it sound like needs both). The other option is combination of deposit and income to make up 800k, so if he has 50k pension per month, that's 600k per year so he'll need to have 200k deposit to make up the shortfall Obviousy exchange rate fluctuation could drop his 50k monthly to example 45k so he would need to be careful (suggest increase deposit for safety net) -

Much Higher Traffic Fines in Effect from Sept 5
aussiexpat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Rightfully, so many people have been asking for helmets to be enforced for years. Now Thailand increases no helmet fine from 500 to 2000 and people still finding ways to criticize the move I reckon there'll be a massive helmet checking exercise once it becomes law and I for one won't be risking a 2000 baht fine for no helmet (and that's a massive fine for a lot of Thai's) -
Primarily the TM30 application talked about is for people with their own condo/house or those staying with friends (as per the OP) Anyone staying in a hotel, immigration should be able to see the hotel applied TM30 on their computer when you apply for an extension. All people are doing is advising to get a screen shot of the Hotel TM30 just in case

He can't, he refuses to wear a mask for the 10 minutes he will be sitting down in an air-conditioned bank Oh the horror ????
-
I have seen people fined 800 baht for no TM30 at Jomtien, I was behind them waiting my turn. They were applying for a 30 day extension and needed to pay the fine to get it, or they could just forget the extension and no fine. They chose the fine

I find it no different to the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" if they ask you to wear a mask in the bank, do it or don't go in. Pretty simple

So let me get this straight, a German national holds protests against the Thai PM, is visited by Police on Thursday where "he was told that if he continued such activities, he ran the risk of losing his visa" So he responds by holding a press interview Friday to bring even more attention to his protests and tells the press he'll be attending public protests this weekend How stupid and/or entitled can you be when you can be deported at anytime

Landromat in Pattaya in the soi Pothole area ?
aussiexpat replied to Baron Samedi's topic in Pattaya
Laundry near action street has very expensive industrial style machines. Wash cycle is 25 minutes, drying 20 minutes. I take my washing out of dryer at 10-15 minutes as clothes well dry by then -

Yet another made up story to justify his innocence when you don't have a clue what happened

Soi 15 is other side of 2nd road behind avenue. I arrived 11 Jan, they started digging up soi 15 on 13 Jan, after 4 months of burying plastic pipes I couldn't handle it anymore so left. Why didn't they do that during covid shutdown rather than starting when they re-opened the country. Reading on here I see soi 15 is still being dug up more than 7 months later ????

Why do you keep making stuff up and posting it as possible fact. There is no basis in any news article for any of your thoughts
