  1. if its a King I believe its in the endangered species category..very few left in the wild and difficult to find..you must live in a rural area?!

    Call the snake guy.

If it is a King Cobra, it will not be aggressive. It will certainly bite and can kill you easily if aggravated, BUT, there is not a single documented case in Thailand of anyone being killed by a King Cobra bite even though many people have been bitten. Apparently they realize that a person is too big to eat so they save their venom.

    Is that right ??

I wouldn't like to put it to the test. Not being documented does not really mean anything since many of those bitten

may not have hung around long enough (in this world or the next) to identify which of the 4/5 possible varieties was the culprit.

In any case it has been documented that a KC bit an elephant on the foot. The elephant died. Seems to me that

with the amount of neurotoxin a KC can deliver that it would be highly dangerous to assume that because you are not on the lunch list that

it is going to ration out the venom. :)

  2. And who will benefit?

Suspect our local "Cheap Charlie's"/balloon chasers will soon find a way of milking the system, genuine tourists will not get a look in.

Free room conditional on having 2 meals per day in house system has been around for years in the UK, plus taxes. Nothing wrong with it if accommodation and co-guests are ok and you want to eat in all the time.

  3. This is how democracy is undermined and has been undermined everywhere, historically:

The majority get trapped between the opposing extremist factions with extremism fanned by populist malcontent (guess who) supported by monied interests.

A government that has no real commitment to the principles of democracy do nothing but look for alternatives that will serve their own narrow ends.

The Weimer Republic transition to Nazi dictatorship, is the classic template for might happen here unless there is a real commitment by responsible politicians to serve democracy and not their own narrow ends supported by a misguided, exploited and gullible minority.

Sling shots with bolts and fire bombs... Pretty much shows me what I needed to see about red shirt protestors.

You obviously didn't follow the tv and articles about the yellowshirts with guns shown on tv firing at people, or are you one of the baying mob on here kissing the arse of the incumbent government,it appears from a lot of posters here that it was perfectly ok for the yellows to do what they wanted but not for the reds, hypocrites the lot of them, espousing about democracy my arse your just a baying mob most of you and a lot just getting on the bandwagon.

Why aren't you at the protest? This is about democracy right? Or was that Demo-crazy.

  4. Thailand is a model country in its attitude to dogs.

Dogs in Thailand are left to find their own space and when they do they are not a problem.

Pit Bulls, are bred to kill, but a well treated bull can be as soft as a kitten.

All dogs, however, can turn nasty, but most don't have the ability to cause the big big damage a bull can inflict and will back-off eventually.

However, a pit bull will not back-off once the red mist descends and it has the equipment and strength to kill.

Moreover, it will maintain the attack until it does so. The mind boggles at the damage 3 pit bulls can inflict.

A pit bull runs loose near where I live and if unprovoked is very friendly with PEOPLE.

His attitude to other dogs is a different matter and most of the neighbourhood dogs carry the scars of indiscretion, especially when it has involved competiton for females in heat.

He has and will despatch cats, in an instant, with total indifference.

It can only be imagined what his temperment would be if he were locked in a cage all day long.

People who lock dogs in cages are asking for trouble and it should not be allowed by law. Its cruel to the animal, eventually drives them crazy and consequently creates mortal danger for the owners, their families and everybody in the neighbourhood.

There are several pit bulls tied-up 24 hours a day, in the blazing heat, near where I live and in my opinion, are a ticking time bomb.

If a dog misbehaves, look to the owner.

NAKHON SAWAN: -- A woman was mauled to death by 3 pit bull terriers, which also injured her three relatives and killed another local dog, police said.

Police said Raksina Techawatanabamrungkij, 37, was killed late Friday night after she released the three pit bull terriers from the cage into the compound of her family's rice mill.

Her mother-in-law, Charoensri Lorlertrat, 53, her daughter, Thaweephan Lorlertrat, 20 months, and her brother-in-law, Satit Lorlertrat, 33, were injured by the dogs.

Charoensri told police that Raksina left the house to release the terriers from their cage at about midnight but she did not come back inside, prompting her daughter to cry.

Charoensri came out to look for her and found her badly-mauled body along with a local pet dog of the family.

The pit bull terriers then turned to attack Charoensri and her granddaughter. She cried for help and when her son came out to help, he was also attacked.

Eventually, Charoensri's husband, Seksuek Lorlertrat, came out to help and shot two terriers dead while the other one escaped.
