  1. No, not at all, but feel free to understand what I'm talking about, that, of course if you're vaguely interested in having a meaningful debate ????
  2. That's more or less the point I'm trying to make, if you have read "1984" or "Brave new world ", you know what i am talking about. I also find the internet very useful in some way, and if you are aware of the potential dangers of enslavement to technology, that's ok, but it's a fact that a lot of people, perhaps the majority, are not very much aware. Btw, i am not adverse to technology in general, but surely it should be used with an eye for the common good, and one eye for the good of the planet.
  3. Perhaps your vision is more optimistic than mine, and i can't blame you for that. Perhaps, like many of my generation, i have always been a bit suspicious about technology and its frankly irresponsible development. In western countries, we are already " slaves " of technology in some way or another, and i don't think that's very good for the intellect, the soul and the spirit.
  4. Sometimes one can feel sad indeed, when confronted with injustice, i think no one is immune. Perhaps having faith in something is not a stupid idea after all, and there's plenty of choice.
  5. As much as i understand the desire of the ruling elites to control humankind, i think the people ( especially the young) have better to wake up quickly. Internet and smartphones have done an incredible damage in just 10 years or so, but most people don't want to hear that.
  6. I'm not excited about AI. I remember reading a book from I.Asimov, in the story, a sort of artificial intelligence takes complete hold of power, and the humans become slaves. Like all technology, of course, we have to discriminate between a good or a bad use, so moral principles can do a lot of good in this case. Yet, as it has already been discussed, there must be a fine balance between the needs/rights of the masses and the needs/rights of the individual, so, it's a long way.
  7. Read the article, and agree with every word. I wonder if he's reading R.Steiner, because these visions ( in Steiner's lectures) have been proposed some 100 years ago. Btw, he made very clear that a "revolution " must be peaceful and bloodless, otherwise it will fail. In other words, only love can save us. ( he often mentions the love of Christ, but the word "Christ" is not very popular these days. ..oh, and it may take a few centuries, so no need to hurry too much ????
  8. I would take no chances, and say that both hypothesis are true, once one gets rid of the dualistic vision. It's like saying " nothing new under the Sun " or " everything changes " Apparently conflicting statements, but both true imho.
  9. That's interesting, I've noticed something similar too. However, i guess it can be explained, perhaps it's just " historical reasons ".
  10. I don't see the contradiction, it just depends if you look at the issue as a mortal physical human, or if you look at it from the point of view of the infinite/eternal. All is one, so it's quite normal for the "information " to exist everywhere and everytime..
  11. Very interesting article, however, what is "known" to be the deepest point of the oceans, could be just the deepest point discovered so far.
  12. It's not that different than in real life, did free speech ever existed? But i guess we can still discuss everything, as long as we stay calm, and we use a proper language. As much as one may not like to talk about, and i can understand why, there's a battle going on between the light and the dark forces. See you back soon ????
  13. I perceive quite intuitively that space and time are " the same thing", but if i had to explain it, i would be in trouble. So , while looking for answers on the net, i came across with this opinion of a scientist, i guess, which i find somehow interesting. spacetime might emerge from the materials we usually think of as living in the universe—matter and energy itself. “It's not [that] we first have space and time and then we add in some matter,” Wüthrich says. “Rather something material may be a necessary condition for there to be space and time".
  14. Very nice, after thinking a while, i could call it " multifaceted reality".
  15. Yup, that reminds me of a popular saying, " washing the donkey's head is useless , you waste time, water and soap, and the donkey get nervous "????
  16. Well, i guess the misunderstanding with him depends from the interpretation of the word "religion". In fact, when i say " religion ", i mean it in a broad way, mainly as opposed to "materialism ", which has apparently become the new cult. I guess many people nowadays see only the negative side of religions and spirituality, so they may think wrongly that I'm supporting organized religion with all its misdeeds, or even the vatican.
  17. Yes, i agree with you, apparently you have no idea of what i am talking about. When you'll manage to understand what I'm saying, which is just common sense imho, perhaps then we can have a meaningful debate. ..but thanks for your contribution anyway.
  18. Ok, i see that you are convinced of what you say, and perhaps I'm wrong to see your argument as disingenuous. That said, the fruits of the new cult of materialism are visible to anyone who dares to look at, i can only say good luck with that.
  19. I'm hearing this argument very often, and it sounds a bit disingenuous. The wealth is relative, everywhere there are people who have too much, and people who have not enough, the rich and powerful America, the great democracy, is not exception. Are you blaming religion, seriously ? Not the big corporations, the banks, the politicians, i guess they must be all saints ???? I'm not saying that religion can solve all the problems, but it can give peace of mind to some.
  20. I am not a good actor too, and the main reason is, i don't like acting and pretending. However, i have a different strategy, when i think that life is hitting me hard, i think of the zillion people, who are probably as innocent as i, who get hit harder, and still find the power to carry on, and even help others.
  21. Once i was tripping in the mountains, and there was an unforgettable moment, where i thought i could communicate with the absolute, so i asked " what i have to do ?" And the answer was " you have to create". The best answer i have found so far for the purpose of the whole existence, is " Ram lila" ( god is playing)
  22. I agree with the first part of this post, but i don't see the death of the physical body as the ultimate tragedy. Death happens, is part of the dual reality. The real tragedy is the suffering of living, and the purpose of religion is, well, it should be, to alleviate that suffering.
  23. There's indeed a point where the free will of a soul " melts" with the music of the absolute. At this point, whether we call it free will, or another name, it's not important. Agree with your post, very well put.
  24. Thanks for the clear, articulated reply. Well, if we accept the concept of reincarnation, i have little doubt that between death and a new life, the most earthly desires get cleaned up, so to speak, and what is called the " false ego" just disappear, but perhaps the purest part of the ego can remain self conscious. Like in the case of Buddha, who is said to have vowed to come back in this world until every sentient being is freed from pain, i believe that very evolved spirits can retain their free will in the spiritual realms, provided their free will resonate in harmony with the absolute, even beyond the physical world. Of course there's a lot of room for speculation here, so I'm taking my own words with a pinch of salt.
