  1. That's one way to see a reality, but as few have pointed out magnificently, we have some power on the reality. Your wallet has power too, every little thing counts. On the other hand, we know, and we should accept that, as a physical entity, nobody gets out of here alive. I think the common goal of spiritual science is to give one the tools ( you can choose those which you prefer ) to improve a " body" (we can call it soul) which is much better than the physical one we have, and apparently can last longer, and keep on improving forever. Now those souls are made of our thoughts, feelings, actions etc, and you are the programmer, so to speak. So, yep, watching the news is not encouraging, and one has to find the courage and the power somewhere deep in his depths.
  2. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to answer the question, but whenever i have to face some sort of subtle aggression, i hear Jesus saying " forgive them, cause they don't know what they are doing ". In the same way, i forgive myself for my mistakes. Basically, all violence comes from fear and/or ignorance. I also feel that hate in my heart is an unnecessary weight, and a threat for my peace of mind, so forgiving is a must. I'm not saying it's easy all the times, but, like everything, one can improve with practice.
  3. Very much agree, it's going to be some very interesting and challenging years ahead. I think i can understand why Seth's speeches resonate very well with you, as his use of wording sounds so simple and modern, well, in this case I've come to the same conclusions by spending time trying to decipher the meaning of much older teachings. Those unreliable leaders and politicians we were talking about are definitely a sign of the times.
  4. Agree, since we are part of a society, we are partly responsible for everything which is right or wrong.
  5. I can see your point, yet what you call distortions, could be deliberate manipulations, bad translations, omissions, and sometimes just misunderstandings. If, as i think, the reasons for being here on earth are learning and experiencing different ways of thinking, there's no wasted time, imho, in searching for the truth. Did Seth mention dark ages, golden ages of humankind, and the challenges the human society as a whole is facing in these times ?
  6. According to Plato, who i find to be an inspired observer of society, the price we pay for being uninterested in politics, is being ruled by the insane.
  7. I think Jesus, in a similar case, said: "it's your faith who saved you". Another popular saying, " help yourself, and God will help you".
  8. But, but, is " the universe " conscious? Because it seems quite well organized to me.
  9. At the time when Osho was popular in some countries, including mine, he was not my favourite guru, and i was a bit suspicious about his followers, but in the years I've read something from him, and surely he cannot be dismissed just because he was travelling in Rolls-Royce etc. For some people he is a great teacher.
  10. Spot on again, I've spent a lot of time wondering about what people think, perhaps the time has come to give it a little rest. Btw, i know you don't like religions and such, and you're probably busy extracting every molecule of wisdom from Seth's descriptions, but, having done a lot of cross checking among philosophies, religions and the such, and keeping what i think it's worth, i find quite some similarities with what Don Juan, Jesus, Buddha, Yogananda, Steiner, and others have to say about the so called reality.
  11. Yes, i can confirm from my experience and other's that this is a very common mistake. Yet, ,on the contrary, i see the majority of people so absorbed in their little materialistic bubble, that it feels like a blessing to be different ????
  12. Yes, this final explanation is really spot on. " the source of all believed realities " is a great image of what some people call "God ". I've "seen" what you describe, a few times when experimenting with so called psychedelics, and a couple of times thanks to mantras and breathing techniques, and " i know " that what you say is true, although one has to be careful with words, which can easily be misunderstood. This post is a good effort imho.
  13. Sorry, but i was not accusing you, i was just giving my impression on the term "mumbo-jumbo ". So pls, don't take my comment personally.
  14. Yes, and the opposite too, when in the middle of some ecstasy i was kind of dancing on the brim of a precipice, the look of fear in the face of my friends was something ????
  15. interesting, i was thinking of "fear" and " ecstasy " as 2 extreme polarities of the soul. the 1st related to the animalistic survival instinct. the 2nd, a connection with the spirit. Of course, the interaction between those 2 can determine the quality of one's thoughts.
  16. I agree, and not a little feat indeed. Humanism would not probably exist without Jesus, and others who were unjustly persecuted, so, again, i don't think that he's overrated.
  17. As you said in your post, war are waged for economical reasons, and religion has often been used as an excuse, so to blame Jesus for the bad deeds of the crusaders is not correct. However, you see quite determined in seeing just faults in religion, so, without offence, I'll not try to change your mind. Appreciate your contribution though, and agree with some of your ideas, if not most.
  18. Excuse me, but how do you know that ? Were you there with him ? There are many things we don't know about the life of Jesus, there are a zillion theories, for example about his journeys to India, where is regarded as an incarnation of Vishnu, the force of love and cohesion. Personally, i think nowadays Jesus is underrated, and if you stay around I'll explain why i think so.
  19. Of course, i think i said a zillion times that even a single atom is intelligent, but how self conscious i don't know. I also believe consciousness is eternal, thus not born but ever present. I one wants to be everlasting, all he has to do, is melt his consciousness ( ego) with the higher self, ( not easy to express that in few words ), but i guess I'll need a few more lives to get there. .
  20. Thanks for the kind words, but while i like most of your thoughts, i slightly disagree on this point. While is true that thoughts create emotions, it's also true that emotions create thoughts, so we can only agree that thoughts, emotions, feelings are interconnected components of the soul. As for imagination, i have no words to describe the wonders of such a gift, and for me it's above thoughts emotions and feelings, so to speak.
  21. Still I'm wondering, after all those experiences, and all those contrasting feelings, how you cannot be sure yet that we are unique, individual souls which happen to have a human body..
  22. ???? I think it's M.Twain who said : " to stop smoking is the easiest thing in the world, I've done it more than 50 times ! " ???? on the depression thing, while appreciating your thoughts, I've got to agree with @Hummin, on the fact that our souls are unique, thus, what is " severe depression " for a person used to adversities, for example, can be very different for someone who has lived a very comfortable life. And ability to react positively to an unfortunate event may depend on many factors. And so on, if you hear what I'm saying. my remedy? Being active, and try to do something useful for the harmony in the world, even if just caring for a little garden, or taking care of some friend when he needs it.
  23. Well, apparently the true reality is that a true reality doesn't exist ????
  24. That's funny, and i had the same thought a few times. It's interesting how culture and education can influence and shape the souls in this world, so much that sometimes it seems to be on another planet.
