  1. Well, that's just the propaganda from scientific magazines which are paid by you know who to create a narrative. There are plenty of articles on the web that, more rationally imho, sypport the theory that human activities can influence the climate from 1 to 5 %..
  2. Sorry?? You can believe what you like, and i support your right to do that. I'm a bit sick of intolerance too, and i try not to be intolerant myself. As for animism, I don't support it, and i don't support any religion. I would support meditation, if someone asked me for advice. .. and, when i said that I respect animism, I could have said that I'm an animist myself. Any other accusations? ????
  3. No, why would i ? But thanks for asking, i have a lot of respect for the animist point of view.
  4. Without offence, but that sounds as intolerant as the Spanish inquisition ???? or perhaps it's the start of another season of witch-hunting?
  5. These are very complex concepts, and many books have been written about it. To find a proper balance between the rights of the society and the rights of every individual surely is a tough job.
  6. Finally ! I'm glad that in the end at least we agree on something. Of course i disagree with the terrible image you have of religion and spirituality, but i can understand and accept that as your free opinion. I've had my years when i was really detesting and even despising anything religious too.????
  7. That's more or less what I'm trying to explain to mr tropicalguy. It's not rocket science, is it. ????
  8. You are missing the point. I'm not discussing the pros and cons of religion. I'm just stating that it exists, in the same way patriotism, communism, capitalism, and humanism and nihilism and many more ideas and concepts exist. If you say that none of those exist, then let's agree to disagree.
  9. Yet saying that religion has no connection with reality is a bit of a stretch. It would be more intellectually honest to totally ignore the subject.
  10. Thanks God we have you to explain to us what is real and what is not ????
  11. I checked the oxford definition, nothing obscure there. Thing is, as you said, churches exist, they are the results of religious thoughts, to make it simple, so churches exist in the material reality, and thought exists in another plane of reality. I find a bit childish your disregard of imagination, without imagination there would not be any form of art, and no scientific and technological discoveries. If you want to say that religion is the result of bad imagination, we can argue about that, but to deny the existence of religion and imagination is plainly wrong.
  12. Yes, i am fond of English language, and most English words in the scientific and philosophical fields actually come from Latin and/or ancient Greek . Imagination is one of the highest faculties of the humans, as far as i know, so if you think it doesn't exist, let's agree to disagree ????
  13. So do you really think that imagination doesn't exist ? Why not accept the obvious fact that different things exist on different planes of reality? Thought exists in a different way than your nose, got it ?
  14. Imagination exists and i start to think that you don't have one ????
  15. No please, i was just grabbing the popcorn ???? On this issue i think you got it completely right btw
  16. You don't think eh ? Try to reread those posts, and see if they reflect the truth. It's stated clearly that religion is not part of the reality, which is not true. Period.
  17. 55555???? Honestly, i was referring to the world outside, but thanks for the morning giggle.
  18. Hi Charlie nice to see you're still here. As usual, I just partly agree with you, but what you say makes sense, and that's a rarity these days. Cheers
  19. Yes, imagination, thoughts, representations are real in some way. Even abstract thought is real. Well, if you deny the existence of thought, perhaps i should ask you if you are for real ????
  20. Then it's fair to say that the name of the religion has been used in history by various empires to commit crimes whose main reason was profit. In other more recent cases war criminals have been hiding behind other forms of political idealism. Same old.
  21. But then, if religion exists in countless forms, you can ask anybody, even your dog knows stuff about religion, how can you deny its existence? I mean, you can say that every religion is total nonsense, but nonsense, or perceived nonsense is part of the so called reality, or not.?
  22. That's oh, so wrong. Everything is, by definition, connected to reality. That includes your stubbornness in carrying on typing while not having a clear idea of what you're typing. ..and, if you just want to bark at religion, you are barking to the wrong tree ???? Glad to help
  23. Uhm, science is indeed a bright light in the darkness, our difference is that you think everything is random, and i think that is not. Intelligence doesn't belong only to humans. Intelligence is everywhere in the nature, you can see it every day with your eyes. I could go as far as saying that every tiny atom is permeated with consciousness.
