  1. It's funny in a way, someone still believes that the governments are there to help the people, it makes definitely more sense to believe in God ????
  2. Everything is possible. ...if there is hope and faith. But, even if it was impossible, dreaming is free.
  3. Yet it's a wonderful dream, to create a world where we can co-exist peacefully. The challenge is to turn a dream into a solid reality. I have no doubt it will happen, but surely not in my lifetime.
  4. I think we have to deal with extremely powerful, sometimes conflicting forces, and try to make the best out of it, according to our personal level of evolution. As I believe in karma, i try my best not to feed the evil forces, but it's not always easy to take a selfless stand.
  5. Well, if we expect an ethic behaviour from the individual, i think we could expect at least some ethics from the ones who make a living by giving us information. But of course, you are right, corporations are there to make a profit, and the more profit they make, the less accountable. I'm starting to see democracy as a beautiful dream, but not so easy to make it real ????
  6. Surely he was intelligent enough to acknowledge that there is an ongoing debate. And wise enough not to take a definite position .
  7. I'm not really interested in your nonsense, as every agnostic will admit the possibility of the existence of an intelligent design. Perhaps you have to look on the dictionary what's the meaning of "agnostic ".
  8. Not surprising at all, interesting times ahead.
  9. Nothing new under the sun, about 70% of the people believe what they are told to believe.
  10. Imho, in the western world it's about 50/50. Of course many old folks may say they believe because of ingrained bigotry, while the younger may say they don't believe because now it's trendy. (See the science propaganda)
  11. Just trying to stay on topic, otherwise only God knows what's going to happen ????
  12. I guess everyone knows what eugenics is, and in modern times most people cringe at the thought of it. Apart from being immoral, eugenics is apparently unhealthy as well, as it would kill the diversity of genes. Most associate eugenics with the infamous nazi regime, but it's no mystery that e. was popular among most white scientists in America way before the nazis. Just to say that science consensus is not necessarily right, and often it can be bought.
  13. MSM = mainstream media. Yep, I surely agree with what you say, and MSM is not exempt. Btw, I don't see the competitive spirit as an evil, as far as it's fair... unfortunately, if we are dominated by profit, fairness gets forgotten.
  14. Well, my point is that not much is really changing for the better. Indoctrination may change its clothes, so to speak, but it's still there.
  15. Are you saying that MSM has ethics ? Aren't they humans?
  16. This post, not surprisingly, sounds exceedingly biased, and it's really hard to take it seriously. Next you'll blame the believers even when it's raining too much ????
  17. I appreciate it, but yes, it's a bit hopeful to think that "self interest can be consistent with the interest of society ". ...Actually, that was supposed to be the goal of Christianity..
  18. Glad we're finally on the same page, so to speak. So it's not really nonsensical to say that science, like religion in the past, is becoming a sort of cult, a way to manipulate the masses.
  19. Somehow today i understand very well what you are saying, but, even more, i have to praise your intellectual honesty. ..Especially when you say that the distinction between hypothesis and theory may be blurred. Without going too much in detail, can we also agree that a hypothesis may be sold as a theory to the public, or even worse, as a fact ?
  20. Fair analysis, but with religion disappearing from the mind of ordinary folks, it's already happening in western countries, will there be some "power-vacuum" which needs to be filled ? And, taking for granted that unifying people is good for everyone, or at least for the majority, what will be the main unifying factor ? Surely we're going to see some interesting changes in the society in the next few years.
  21. I don't really like fanatics too. But, do you really think that, if it was possible to erase religion propaganda from the haters' mind, fanaticism and extremism will cease to exist ? Or even more, would evil disappear from this planet if any religious belief could be erased ?
  22. This is worth discussing. Actually i completely agree, and I think you are putting too much faith in what you call science. What I call science is slightly different, unless you wish to read the whole thread, I'll have to explain to you another day.
