Seriously....riptides on Pattaya beach ? More likely to get entangled in all the rubbish floating out there. I was hit by a large chunk debris once and thought gee, if it had hit me on the head I might have lost consciousness and drowned quietly.

Many people who steal, have an illness, nothing to do with poorWhy does he need to steal? Perhaps he should return to his country to build more wealth, before coming back here for his fun.
Don't you just love it, how everything is an illness these days? The great thing about that is that it totally discards personal responsibility which will appeal to those that don't have it. Drinking 3 liters of soda a day and being obese? Oh, I just have this illness. Shoplifting? Sorry, I'm sick. Alcohol abuse, leading to road carnage or domestic abuse? Well, alcoholism is a disease, nothing I can do about it.
Give me a break.
This is EXACTLY what I think on a weekly basis. Whatever crap people pull nowadays, there's an "illness" that goes with it that you can blame. I say, get rid of all these made-up illnesses and make people take full responsibility for their own actions.
Not to say that there aren't mental illnesses, but stuff like alcoholism and other self-inflicted conditions? Give me a break.
An inability to emphatise is also an illness

Well I agree with you, they should have a huge holding area for all buses just outside town and then transport the tourists down town in baht buses/trucks.There are many hotels located outside Pattaya city center so the Chinese and other "group tourists" uses big buses to get down to the speed boats and other places.
Not much to be done about it but it would be nice if they could start using some buses that don't pollute so much.
What you mean nothing can be done about?
25 years ago in the big tourist cities in Spain a tour bus would not be allowed in the city. They all needed to park outside the ring road and transport from there with local transport.
Why wouldn't the same be possible in Pattaya, where they could say that buses need to stay East of the railway road.
By the way the biggest problem is at night, when there are no jetski's, but a group of 10 Chinese get transported to Alcazar with a 50 seater bus, while 12 Chinese from another group get there with another similar 50 seater.
I wonder what city hall will think about that? Getting all big buses out of Pattaya would help a lot regarding traffic pile up.
"Think" and "city hall" cannot be used in one sentence.

LKY did say that thaksin was more shrewd and cleverer than his opponents. I think the recent gaffes of the good general proofs the point.

I have seen it at villa, foodland and Central supermarket. However, supply chain is a little unreliable in all these places ... sometimes to you need to check all places before you find it or wait till the new shipment arrives.

Balle Balle doesn't have lamb but their prices are dramatically lower than moderate priced places.
For example their veggie dishes are well under 100 baht and their chicken biryani is 120 baht.
They do add 7 percent but it's still low priced with that.
With their Punjabi only limited size menu they're clearly going after a price conscious Indian demographic.
Also free water is offered.
Their baigan bharta, roasted eggplant curry, 90 baht plus 7 percent:
Balle Balle
The cheapest non-vegetarian dish is the 'chicken curry' for 150 Baht. Butter chicken comes for 300 Baht. The vegetarian food is indeed very cheap.
Sorry, I cut the NV-prices accidentally.
The waiter recommended the not spicy Butter Chicken.
We wanted to eat spicy curries and he suggested the Chicken Curry and the Chicken Keema.
The Chicken Keema was too spicy and salty for my significant other, but good for me.
Don't expect to much meat. The Chicken Curry comes with two pieces of chicken, the Chicken Keema just with one. Only 20% of the pieces are meat, the rest are bones.
It was okay for me, as I enjoyed more the delicious curry sauce with bread.
Next time, I'll try the vegetarian food. I guess, this will be a better price-quality-ratio.
The invoice is illegal for vat purposes and I doubt if they ever remitted the collected taxes to the tax office. I think a vat id no isrequired.
No wonder they closed.

I think betel nut and betel leaves are 2 different things?

IMO you can go to the night market on Pattaya tai, which has a good pet market. Can ask there
A pedigree dog (if that's what you really want) is not what I'd buy from a night market as I would worry that the pups come from unscrupulous puppy mills/factories.
Perhaps something like a Thailand kennel association may point you to reputable breeders within Thailand?

as mean as this may sound i say bring it on baby!
the bubble MUST burst
last night someone told me the russians can NOT take money out of russia, true?
I couldn't agree more... let the bubble burst. Weed out the shysters, con artists and sundry "pretend" developers who are out there now building future slums. Let them fail before they unleash more eye sores and substandard developments without regard to neighbours or the environment.
There are a few foreign shysters ruining Wongamat. I exempt the thais because surprisingly, the best developments there are by thai companies. Not the local con artists whose idea of luxury is cramming as many sexpats as possible into a block of 30sqm cheap and nasty flats. Luxury condos my ass. They deserve to fail.

It was not a " civil rights " protest, it was a demand for more than the 100 % FREEBIES
black people now collect from Caucasian hard working, tax paying citizens !
Just like the freebies lazy white folks reaped off the hard work of black slaves ? Call it payback.

Gen. Prayuth has already issued his 12 Values. What more is needed?
Free condoms? Consistent with the h-a-p-p-y program. ..without the pain 9 months later.

Gotta hand it to the Russians. They do organise themselves much better than the rest. Although, I am not sure why they need so many local Russian language channels on btv.

Reading between the lines, many foreigners are worried about what the service staff and others might think of them for being kee niao. And they claim not to understand the concept of "face". Lol!!!
-
It's a good substitute for silverbeet which I can never find here. Tastes like it and behaves like it, so I use it in recipes that call for silverbeet.
-
I suggest putting those "values" in a Little Red Book and make it compulsory for all to carry it.

I tried google translate and I still don't understand.
Google translate didn't have Nonsense in its list of languages.

I thought the ageing population in Thailand had sorted these problems out..... Go on girl, get down to Pattaya and get yourself a falang!
Except the typical farang they get is more likely to add to Thailand's ageing problem! !!

Like it or not, US will always be the world leader.
Which nation is capable to do what they do? And of those nations, which ones could be trusted globally?
Not necessarily. Usa's position is only a small period in history. The have been other empires in the past, many lasted longer than current blip that usa thinks will last forever (a dangerous form of hubris for the rest of the world - one sole superpower that uses whatever means to ensure its citizens and values rank over all others).
I think it is better not to have one sole superpower because absolute power corrupts absolutely. Who cares if it's China or Russia or some other bloc like the EU that may have ascendancy in the future. The world needs another power to counter the existing one that may or may not recover is moral compass.

The only thing disturbing about the OP is that the guest demands the host pay more tips and when the host did not as is his custom and right, the guest decides to proceed with his own tip anyway.
Kind of insulting to the host, isn't it?

I was wondering how a coach driver could possibly run over himself and now I know. Oh dear.

I often see fire trucks at the homes of two local big wigs. Bigwig 1uses it to water his garden/lawns. Bigwig 2 uses it to top up his water tanks. Both use them occasionally to hose down their driveways and paving.
God help you if you had an emergency and need a fire truck at these times!

Low tide in Northern Wong Amat reveals thick sludge instead of sand
It breaks my heart. ..barely 3 years ago, it was still ok-ish.
The beginning of the end came when those dodgy developers allow run offs from their building sites into the sea. They destroyed the environment there that was the prime asset of the area. Shame.

Have Bush W and Cheney gone overseas in last say 5 years? What's their record compared to other ex presidents and Vp?
I suspect they might not want to test their chances of getting a warm welcome.
Yes. Bush and Cheney are in England right now, just making sure that the British aren't doing the goose step and speaking German. After all, the US wouldn't want to have lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers killed and wounded in WWII for nothing, would it?
Deliberate misinformation masquerading as a bad joke?

First one US don't ratified ICC
Second, US don't extradite his citizen.....
Third former president bush is protect by law
It will be difficult
So if I don't recognize Thai traffic laws, no policeman can give me a ticket for traffic violations?
Thanks for informing us about that.
Thailand is a sovereign nation and when you're on its soil you are subject to its laws. You don't have an equivalent there.
Who is going to go onto US soil and grab a US citizen and enforce its "laws" on the USA? Who is going to kidnap a US citizen who's abroad and subject him to some imagined "international law" if the US won't allow it? It would be an act of war.
Have Bush W and Cheney gone overseas in last say 5 years? What's their record compared to other ex presidents and Vp?
I suspect they might not want to test their chances of getting a warm welcome.

No way. They need to have 3 meetings first to decide to set up a sub committee to look into the matter.
