  1. When I came to Thailand, almost 30 years ago, bar-girls used to call me hansum man.

When I go now (much less often) they call me Papaa.

All my Thai family, (except my wife), and my staff, call me Papaa.

I just told Sam 22s story to my wife. She said that Paa also means "rich man".

  2. Yes, I did.

As there are no direct flights from Phuket to Hat Yai, I decided to drive down there by car.

From Sarasin bridge to Hat Yai, about 6 hrs and 500 km. Good roads. No problem.

Next morning I arrived at the Chinese Consulate in Songkhla at 10:00 am.

I got the visum at 11:45.

Regular Fee: 1'100.--Baht. Urgent Fee:1'200.--Baht. Total: 2'300.-- Baht.

No cueuing .Friendly staff. Perfect. I would do it again.

  3. That's not cheating.

Every seller has the liberty to sell at the price he likes.

And every buyer has the liberty to buy at the place he likes.

Selling for different prices, because of a different shape of the nose, is called racism.

  4. I am playing with the same idea for several years already.

Why pay a lot for some people to cut the grass, if a four legged lawn mower (or two) can do the work?

One of my grandfathers had sheep. They did a really good job, keeping the grass short. (Haven't seen any sheep in Thailand so far)

But I am worried about the welfare of the animals: Of course they would need some water. Would they need a stable? Are there vets for goats around? Would snakes be a problem?

Would be interesting to hear from people who have some experience with goats in Thailand.

Hearing some blabla from people who never had goats would be boring and time-wasting.
