  1. Very hard to find a pharmacy that wont rip you of because you are a farang

If he keeps it up he will do well once people know about him

I have a great Pharmacy near me, they speak English and do not seem to be interested one bit in ripping me off Because I am a Farang, great service!!

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

"great pharmacy near me". Kind of difficult to find, if one does not know where you are.

The big Supercheap pharmacy is on Virathongyok Rd. just after the Naka weekend market.

The "Santi" pharmacy, on Phangnga Rd. near the old bus terminal, has better prices for many things, than supercheap.

On Thaina Rd, in Kata, going towards the sea on the left side, there is a small pharmacy, only open in the evening. Small stock, but reliable ordering. No falang pricing.

I've heard Supercheap has a pharmacy, is it as big and complate as the old one that burned? That one had everything. I have no idea where the weekend market is nor Vira.... rd. Any landmarks? I know where Bangkok Hospital, SuperCheap, immigration and the Labor dept are, and how to get to them from by passpass road and from old town via clock circle

The next thing I need is anti maggot powder, Nagasunt, which many pharmacies carried, is no longer made, no one carries K-1 brand except vets who rip you off- and it always plugs up and is useless so half the content is wasted

I have found a slilghlty larger size at another vet twice the product of K-1 -called worm paste ( is a powder ) in a white plastic bottle with a cartoon green maggot and only Thai script.

The SC pharmacy near Naka weekend market is smaller than the burnt one.

A very helpfull book is: "Streets of Phuket", (Phuket's first ever street directory). <www.streetsofphuket.com>

The small pharmacy on Thaina Rd. in Kata is called "Kata pharmacy". Opposite of Bamboo Bar.

  3. I arrived from Singapore on 11.04.14 at around 6 pm.

Paid the Meter Taxi woman 100 Baht.

The driver turned the meter on.

In Kata the meter showed 690 Baht.

The driver was good and polite.

He said his name was Gipsy.

700 baht with LPG, that is a good profit!

    Would you drive 98 km , 2 hrs+, for 700 Baht? I would not.

My wife would have picked me up with her car. But I would not do that to her.

Did you ever calculate the cost for 1 km with your car ?

    Do what to your wife?

What's the use of having a car if you don't use it?

Thank you for such easy questions.

I want my wife to be happy. Driving to the airport and back in shiti traffic, plus waiting, will not make many people happy.

About using my car. I drove 200'000 km in ten years.

If you have more easy questions, don't be shy to ask.

And, by the way, Did you ever calculate the cost for 1 km with your car ?

  5. Went to Phuket immigration this afternoon to do my 90 day report. Arrived just after 14:00, it was fairly busy. Went to one of the volunteers (the one on the right). He gave me the TM 47, and told me I would not need a picture. I filled in the form, the volunteer checked it and gave me the ticket 002 at 14:09. Went over to Nr.3. He didn’t like the copy with the visa and the departure card, so I went downstairs to get another one. Back upstairs to Nr. 3. He bostiched the receipt of notification into my passport. When I asked him if everything was OK, he made a hand sign like chasing away a bothering fly,and ignored me and my question. Out of the place shortly after 15:30

  6. If you live in Phuket you can borrow mine (breadmaker).

And if you like it, you can buy it.

I used it about 10 times. The bread was eatable, but not as good as I expected.

Then I got tired of trying,

Now I found a bread at Villa market. It's called "Pain d'Antan". The best I found so far.

  7. Is this harmful to you in any way, the brown color is gradually going but the smell still remains, what is wrong with this country are they incapable of supplying a decent water supply?

    Not harmfull.

The suspended solids (SS) are bundled and sink. And can then be drained or sucked off.

Don't know what to do about the smell. Google?

What's wrong with this country? Too many things to list.

    Your last question: Yes!

Many years ago I went to the waterworks in Kathu (Phuket) and informed them, that the water was dirty.

The woman at the counter let me know, that there is no dirty water in Thailand.

As I was speechless, I gave her a big fake smile, and left without any further futil comment.

  8. Old Thai people will be able to tell you there are transparant/milky crystal like stones which make brown water clear when you put them into it for some time. I managed to buy them once in Hua Hin in the nineties, when the tap water had gone brown.

It's Aluminium Sulphate (also sometimes called sour stone)

    It's a flocculant.

    Super cheap has (had?) it.

  9. Hello All, you can order/EMS from BKK. I got this in Korat

rice555 PS, they also have borax

A picture is worth a thousand words.

    Napoleon Bonaparte

  10. do you realize that some thais use it in their cooking(makes food crispy or something), blew me away when I found out, there are 2 types, the one for cooking and the one to kill ants, its stronger. I buy it online from a store in Phuket, works a treat.

I'd like to get some of that stuff.

Where in Phuket do you buy it?

    Thanks.

  11. Went and had a pizza at a place called Aglis something, or other. It's just a few shops down from Pizza 2000 in Chalong.

The place was totally packed with customers whilst Pizza 2000 was empty.

I have already tried Pizza 2000, but, they pissed me off by drizzling olive oil all over my salami pizza without asking me.

Looking at the crowd, I had high hopes for this place.

The pizza I got looked huge, but was incredibly thin. The cheese and salami was very sparse. I didn't even get a slice of salami for each slice of pizza.

A very average pizza. I don't see the attraction, they're not exactly budget prices.

The two cooks are white fellas.

If you like salami pizzas, I would recommend those at Falang Paradise in Chalong, though unfortunately they're only available on Friday nights unless you phone a couple of hours beforehand and order for either eat in or takeaway. I think they're 12" size, and around the 180 baht mark:

The name of the place is called "Agli Amici" .

The two white fellas are Italian.

They can cook. #3 of 26 restaurants in Chalong. Trip advisor.

    I like thin Pizza.

If you like thick Pizza you should maybe try the Pizza Connection. They even put pineapple an it.

    De gustibus non est disputandum!
