Check the caliper for thickness?
I think you mean the disc, which is well within tolerance
I'll go and take a look at that shop today providing it's there / open due to the floods, thank you for your advice.
Karl
hahah ya meant to say the disc. i dont think the caliper should have any issues wearing down over time
-
i wonder what kind of range the bike has with that tank and at what pressure
-
just a thought...have you checked the caliper? it might be part of the problem. Check the thickness and if it is below the tolerance get a new one.

There is a shop in Bang Kapi at the intersection of Lat Prao and Srinakarin road. Its been a while since I've been there (roughly 2 years) so not sure its still there or still as nice, but last time i went they had lots of aftermarket stuff. Its was very clean, had good toolboxes full of good tools for the mechanics to use, which was very impressive. About the level of professionalism you would find at a factory garage here. i.e. Yamaha, Honda, etc. Nice lady runs it, speaks enough English to communicate as well.
-
What is your area? There are a ton of scooter and small bike shops with lots of aftermarket goodies.
Check out Chan Road area I believe it is soi 18 they have a large shop with many parts in stock
Narathiwat Soi 14 about 100m down entering from Narathiwat there is a small shop on the left. Very nice, old Chinese lady, forget her name though.
If you are heading north on Chan Road and make a left on Sathorn towards Thanon Tok/Rama 3, go down a couple hundred meters and on the left there is a large shop with 2 floors specializing in scooter stuff, mostly aftermarket, they even had Brembos for clicks and waves last time i was there. Not sure real or not. Big orange sign on the front.
Also Saphan Kwai just under the BTS has many shops. Sathu Pradit, the list goes on and on. Thais really love to fix those things up. Or if none of those work just ask a dek waan.

about which time you will be at the sukhumvit - bang na trad intersection i may join there.
Should be there around 10:15 or 10:20. Sent you a PM.
-
Taking a quick day trip down to Bang Pakong for some lunch tomorrow. We will meet at Fast Corner on Narathiwat Rd. at 9:45am depart at 10:00am. Anyone looking to get out of the city is welcome to join. We will be taking Sukhumvit to make it a bit more interesting as the Bang Na-Trat Highway is about the worst road in the history of mankind.

Maybe a lifan will save my life as i cant go too fast and i still look very sexy in my denim and T-shirt and look very very cool .
You do understand that everyone thinks your an idiot, right? Since when does a slow, ugly, piece of shit bike prevent a driver from running you off the road into and ditch? And no, riding in a t-shirt and jeans doesnt make you look cool, especially when you're riding a Lifan.
-
Are you a troll or just that fuc_king stupid? Run away. Fast!! And how about meeting girls like normal people(not the internet)? Through friends, at a party, through some type of work function, etc.... Its no wonder so many idiots come here and lose everything. Think with your head man....the one at the top of your neck.
-
You guys must have been roasting with all that gear you wear .Me i just have jeans and a Tshirt ( mostly no helmet ,but would wear one on a long run ) when i ride .
Judging by the ridiculous statement you just made, now I understand why you bought a Lifan. You ever hear of ATGATT? Don't dress for the ride, dress for the meeting you have with the pavement at 100+km/h.
-
Might be fun, but do I have to dress up like a pirate to attend?
Only if you ride a Harley.
-
If you have a decent bike (not a Lifan, ahem) it shouldn't be a problem
I've done 1000 kilometer trips on a Honda Wave without problems.
That's because its a Honda NOT a commie manufactured Lifan.
-
I went and sat on the one at Kawasaki Rama 9 yesterday. Beautiful bike. The sales woman said they would have one available to test ride next month.
-
Helmet or not, motorbike accidents are always nasty
Actually, if you wear proper gear they don't have to be...
+1
I know 2 people in the past month who crashed bikes and both were uninjured without a scratch on them. A bit of luck and whole lot of gear will save you most of the time.
-
Time for a crackdown on flooding perhaps?
-
but it's simply impossible for you to reach the same speed at lower RPM without changing the gearing of your bike.
Surely you understand this?
Maybe he made a clutch overhaul.
Lolz
It just occurred to me - does the Phantom even have a tach?
Not unless its aftermarket.
-
My only two complaints would be the exhaust and rear fender. But since those would be the first things to go anyway, I say overall an awesome looking bike.
-
PS i would not do that journey on a bike though .There is nothing much to see on the way .Consider putting your bike on the train north .Once you get to Chiang Mai there are many great m/c roads . :jap:
Sometimes the journey is more fun than the destination. Never understood shipping your bike to a place you can ride.

We are talking about Chinese bikes here. They all suck. Buy Japanese. Problem Solved.
And this is your carefully crafted advice as a fully qualified motorcycle engineer having personally tested every Chinese and Japanese motorcyle available world wide.
You really need to change your medication and get out more.
No this is my opinion of Chinese exports as a whole compared to Japanese. Come on man, you really think anyone can touch the Japanese when it comes to motorcycles or even cars for that matter? Honestly.

(i do it thai style )
thats where you went wrong, dont think you have equal or even similar rights to a thai person as far as being in thailand is concerned
ive seen entire thai famalies ( 2 adults ,2 kids ) with no helmet on a ancient old honda wave being waved through a checkpoint only for a farang in full riding gear to be stopped ,searched ,hassled and fined in a typical ratchada rd rollover
my friend was fined once for wearing a mirrored visor that was "illegal"
he protested because they are selling them in the BIG C
the cop gets angry and goes and get the book of "THE LAW" from his pickup and showed him some paragraph about it
they were going to keep him there all day until he paid so in the end he cracked and gave them a 500 note so he could get home
Speaking of the "law book", next time some bent copper tries to do you for not being in the left lane, challenge them to show you the law in the "nangsu gotmai" that says motorcycles are restricted to the left lane. They can't because it doesn't exist
That's true enough.. But funny enough the dark visor law IS on the books happened about 2 years ago... also to the OP have you not seen the 100% helmet posters all over the place? By 1st January next year 100% of riders in Thailand will be wearing helmets. Not sure if that will be achieved but certainly in my area Nakhon Pathom/ Bkk border most riders are wearing helmets.
Ride safe
I am confused over the 100% helmet complience. I live in the far North, Chiang Kham, 80k South of Chaing Rai. Wife has been fined 2 times (200 baht) for no helmet. I was a pillion with no helmet but was not asked to pay a fine. So does the Law require the driver to wear a helmet or everyone on the motor cycle??? Times are changing and it does make sense. Yesterday a car hit a Motor Cycle. Cars fault, failed to realise that we now have trafic lights at a major juction as you enter the high street. The mother on the motor cycle suffered small injuries. The little girl standing infront of the mother did not survive the incident. A broken arm or leg etc may be survivable but a fractured skull for the sake of a cheap helmet????
In that case the mother of the young girl should be thrown on jail for recklessness and endangering a child's life. But we all know that wont happen. Its a shame so many young children are put in harms way by irresponsible parents.

Cool story bro.

So did a Harley rider do your wife or did he make you his bitch.
Must be sad to have a phobia about Harley Davidson's that makes you get on the internet and squeal like a little bitch
Dont have to worry about a Harley Rider gettin at my wife and for dam_n sure dont have to worry about them making me "their bitch". Never knew a HD rider quick enough to get close to a jap bike. But like you said, I'm sure they tried.
You still never told me what kind of bike you ride. Or do you even ride one? Let me guess...you ride a 1985 Honda Wave with skinny tires and a basket in the front for your purse.
-
Thanks guys it was a great ride today, perfect weather and great food! Terry, Joe and Geoff, see you guys soon.
Is this your gay riding group
No its actually quite straight as we don't allow Harleys to join, not to mention they probably can't keep up. BTW what kind of bike do you ride?
