  1. Deaths as a proportion of infections during the two waves of infections, since Dec '21, in the UK, fell by about a third between 1st and 2nd. Although the 2nd peak of infections was higher than the 1st there were considerably fewer deaths, Current trends indicate a further lowering of the ratio again, as a result of the ongoing first class implementation of the UK vaccine programme. No need to worry, WHO thinks Thailand has done a marvellous job of dealing with the virus. Who am I to argue?
  2. 1000's of people are, and have been, getting it simultaneously..........with little or no visible effects.
  3. Thai television comedy series based on the stoner Thai cop station coming up.
  4. "The "curious incident of the dog in the night-time" is easily explained: the dog made no noise, because no stranger was there. As Holmes explains: "I had grasped the significance of the silence of the dog, for one true inference invariably suggests others.... Obviously the midnight visitor was someone whom the dog knew well." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventure_of_Silver_Blaze
  5. Does acting like a total **** and paying the near inevitable price really qualify as a "tragic accident"? Russian Roulette on a railing.
  6. All sorts of interesting stuff in the Japanese tradition of erotic graphic art:
  7. "......the Bangkok governor said.........he believes the core of scout training for children is primarily about discipline............" Those sound like the words of a martinet. This is what the founder said: "Upon hearing the Scout motto, someone asked Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell the inevitable follow-up question. “Prepared for what?” “Why, for any old thing,” he replied. In 1907, Baden-Powell, an English soldier, devised the Scout motto: Be Prepared. He published it in Scouting for Boys in 1908. (Two years later, in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America was founded.) In Scouting for Boys, Baden-Powell wrote that to Be Prepared means “you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty.” More than a century later, preparedness is still a cornerstone of Scouting. Through its fun, values-based program, Scouting prepares young people for life." https://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2017/05/08/be-prepared-scout-motto-origin/
  8. Since when did you represent "us"? Or do you mean Yorkshiremen, for whom any phrase without the word Yorkshire in it is not worth reading or uttering? Given that these are the first public transport monorails in Thailand they represent a milestone in the history of Thailands public transport system, and thus qualify as "National" news.
