I think you are confusing Krue Se Mosque massacre with the TakBai Incident. Tak Bai was a protest outside a police station there in protest of the detention of six men. The army detained about 1300 protesters and then transported them stacked in the back of army trucks for five hours to an army camp. 78 died of suffocation and organ failure.

yes true! I got confused, sorry about that!

but for this "incident" only he should have been locked up already...

before he called himself TonyWoodsome he was PM and he ordered the raid on the TakBai-Mosk, several people died that day, mostly because they were stacked laying down in trucks, many layers when they were brought away...

In a recent development, the Director-General of the Corrections Department, Mr. Ratchatathat, has confirmed that former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has undergone CT scans and an MRI to assess his current health condition.

The medical procedures were conducted after Mr. Thaksin experienced recent health issues. His family and close relatives have been informed of the entire process, and the Corrections Department is considering the possibility of granting him parole should his treatment surpass the 60-day mark, reported TV CH3 plus and Agencies.

Recent images circulated on social media depict Mr. Thaksin being transferred on a hospital bed, wearing ablue patient's gown and a medical mask. Two people standing beside the patient's bed appear to be family members.

As reported by Mr. Sakhakan Petcharinrat, the acting Director-General of the Corrections Department, medical staff conducted both the CT scan and MRI on Mr. Thaksin earlier today, concluding the procedures by 11:00 AM. Presently, his condition remains stable, and he has returned to his room within the patient ward.

Specific details concerning his ailment continue to be kept confidential, respecting patient rights and upholding medical ethics.

To clarify the decision to perform the scans, Mr. Sakhakan emphasized that they were unrelated to any brain-related issues. He further explained that the medical team diligently oversees the health of all patients, and the choice to conduct these scans did not originate from Mr. Thaksin himself.

Regarding whether Mr. Thaksin's family had been informed of the scans, Mr. Sakhakan confirmed that it is customary to keep relatives apprised of all aspects of the treatment. Nevertheless, the medical team has not conveyed any extension of Mr. Thaksin's stay beyond the initial 60-day period thus far.

Furthermore, commencing on October 22nd, Mr. Thaksin will begin a phase of receiving treatment outside the prison facility for a duration exceeding 60 days.

In such an eventuality, the medical team will furnish recommendations to the Director-General of the Corrections Department, who will subsequently assess the recommendations and present them to the Ministry of Justice. Should the treatment period surpass 120 days, it will require approval from a ministerial level within the Ministry of Justice.

A Thai man, claiming to be the owner of a sushi restaurant in Iceland, told Senator Porntip Rojanasunan to leave the restaurant because she was not welcome there.

The senator was visiting Iceland’s capital Reykjavik with a group of friends, including Bhumjaithai party MP Mallika Jirapunvanit. She posted stories and photos about her trip, which started on September 21. Her mission for going is to see the Aurora Borealis (northern lights).

    image.jpeg

The man in the restaurant, whose name is not known, has a Facebook account called “Ari Alexander”. He did not give a reason why he wanted Porntip to leave the place, saying only what she has damaged Thailand tremendously.

The incident came to light as “Ari” Facebooked lived from his car as he was driving to the restaurant. He said he heard that “that person” he hated was there. He was also heard saying that, if he could, he would hit that person with his car.

I have never seen such aweful quality of workmanship as I have seen here in Thailand.

We just bought a new load of bathroom fixtures as the old ones were starting to look a bit tatty such as chrome starting to look aged.

The guy who fitted the new toilet has left out the wax ring because when he fitted it the water refused to drain out of the toilet for some reason. So he left it off and said call him if it leaks.

The guy fitting the shower tried to fit it so low that it would only be capable of showering an either very short person or a child.

Then we find out that there is only a 30 day warranty on the installation work..

The irony is that my brother in law is actually the regional manager for the whole northeast of Thailand for Homepro home installation department.

Oh and once again they left a terrible mess behind them which is a feature of all Thai workers, they never clean up their mess.

I remember having some work done on my house and they mixed cement directly on my tiled driveway and just left the detritus behind after them, I had to chip off all the hardened cement the next day and use acid to dissolve all the lime staining...

We had an extra window fitted in one of the back rooms, the father in law said he knew a couplke of guys who were window 'experts'. after fitting we couldn't open it, so we got a different guy who told us they had fitted the window upside down... He took it back out and refitted it right way up, but the renedering work around the window is so bad it looks like he was standing on the deck of a ship in a hurricane while rendering the edges.

If Thais arte seriously conscious of losing face, why do they leave such face-losing work behind them????

I have a list as long as my arm of other stuff, I would say 70% of work done by Thais is of very bad quality.

luxury problems, not real problems.... ????

    “Let’s play it by ear.”

Yes, you heard right. In a recent interview at the UN General Assembly in New York, Thailand’s new Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, indicated his willingness to involve the former Prime Minister, then fugitive, now inmate, Thaksin Shinawatra in the government once he is released from prison.

The interview was with Bloomberg Television’s Haslinda Amin. “I believe he has value to add to the government and to the people of Thailand.”

The new PM says he’s determined to revitalise Thailand’s economy, which has underperformed recently compared to its SE Asian neighbours following nearly a decade of military-dominated rule.

The Thai Education Ministry is set to revive a decade-old initiative, which was originally launched by a previous Pheu Thai government, to distribute a tablet computer to each student and teacher across the country. This initiative aims to promote equal educational opportunities.

The announcement was made yesterday by Education Minister Permpoon Chidchob and his deputy Surasak Phancharoenworakul, both members of the Bhumjaithai Party in the Pheu Thai-led coalition. During a gathering of ministry officials, their stated goal was to endorse good learning, with happiness.

Permpoon revealed that every student would be granted a tablet computer to lessen their expenses and diminish disparities in educational opportunities under the one student, one tablet scheme. He added that he was currently evaluating the total cost of the scheme, suggesting that if the current budget was not adequate, tablets could be obtained through borrowing or renting.

However, A previous Democrat Party MP, Suchatvee Suwansawat expressed his concern about the programme to the Bangkok Post. While he concurred with the use of modern technology to assist learning and minimise educational inequality, he was hesitant about the scheme.

Well how many people do you know who are capable of "communicating effortlessly" in that number and combination of languages?

Are you?  I know i'm not.

there are many countries who's language not many can speak, so they need to speak other languages. in my school we learned 4 languages already and I learned 2 on top of that, so that makes the total to 6!

because I live here many many years, don't go abroad asmuch as before so some languages get a bit rusty! ????

of course here it's a miracle when someone speaks other languages than Thai, but to me that's very normal!

BANGKOK (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam recently revealed that a contingency plan has been devised in anticipation of the potential return of fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

According to Wissanu, the government has taken measures to address the situation in the event of Thaksin’s return to face legal proceedings. He affirmed that various concerned authorities, including the courts and the Department of Corrections, are fully prepared to effectively handle the situation.

However, the deputy prime minister also made a specific request to Thaksin regarding the timing of his potential return, urging the former premier not to choose weekends or public holidays for his arrival. He cited the operational dynamics of the judicial system, where courts that would be responsible for designating a detention facility for Thaksin would not be operational during such days. This could complicate the process of finding an appropriate detention venue for the former prime minister on such days.

Thaksin recently declared his intention to return to Thailand on August 10, marking the end of his self-imposed exile. However, he subsequently postponed his return, citing the need for medical check-ups as advised by his doctors. He has deferred his homecoming on several occasions in the past.

Thaksin has spent years living in self-imposed exile. During his absence, he has been handed a cumulative prison sentence of 12 years across four separate cases by the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Office. The legal challenges he faces have been a central factor in his prolonged stay outside the country.

why don't I hear about Thaksin giving back all the millions/billions of Thai baht that he took?

why only about him staying in jail or not...

him ànd his sister should both be locked up first, then pay everything back, only then they could be freed from jail, not before!

Thaksin Only Anticipates Days, Not Months Or Years, In Jail Upon Return

DE FACTO PHEU THAI BOSS Thaksin Shinawatra has been desperately anticipating a matter of days, not months or years, for himself being put behind bars upon returning home, according to a partisan source.

Thaksin has been impatiently waiting for his party’s rank and file to run the country again so they will almost certainly find ways and means to help him out with his convicted jail term sooner than later, said the source who only spoke on condition that he not be identified.

The globetrotting Thaksin who has recently shown up in Hong Kong and Phnom Penh will not return home as repeatedly heralded until Pheu Thai candidate Srettha Thavisin has been voted the country’s 30th prime minister and his party has completely set up a coalition government.

The deposed prime minister who has been residing in self-exile abroad for the last 17 years following the 2006 coup has postponed his planned homecoming twice since last month with a previous schedule for the upcoming Thursday having been put off for no more than a couple of weeks.

did he make any suggestion to do so?
