Get the license in another province which doesn't have a wait list, Lamphun isn't far away.
If your son is Thai that's absolutely no problem, he can just go to any DLT.
Foreigners might have it a bit more complicated because they might need a certificate of residence from the province where they apply for the license.
my home adress is in Pai, needed renewed DriversLicence, had an issue ìn MHS, went to MaeTeng and same morning all set! no problems, questions, all with a smile! ????
2 weeks after I did there MotorbikeLicence as well since it went all so smooth!
MaeTeng is da place to be!
[mind you, this was pre-Covid]

for instance why is Thailand importing garlic from China?
it ruins the market...

when there is smoke, there should be somewhere a fire...
maybe the 'leaker' has a point and maybe internally there should be some changes...

So Thailand can assist ASEAN members when they have to protect South China Sea rights.
that will never happen, as it never happened with army on land...
protect against who? sofar China is the only 'naughty boy' in the class, but do you really think that if China will mess with let's say Taiwan, that Tland will step in with either their army or navy with submarines or vessels?
not a chance against China... and they know it!

agreed! looking at this matter ànd how they handled Covid we can conclude that they are kings in creating confusion...
"said that an informant told his subordinates that cannabis was illegally grown at a house"
also here an informant: it really becomes a 'snitch-country': yr neighbour could be an informant! terrible development...

Having spent some time around the CM area I always thought that they were a bit smarter than the dreamers in Bangkok, making a few baht now from the likes of backpackers and retirees is better than sitting around having brain farts daily about the rich Chinese, Indian, Saudi hordes that might show up one day.

Time to change the governor... this is remaining an annual event, and time something was done.
If he's not up to the job remove him.
absolutely right, he's obviously not in control! but if this leads to him resigning I doubt that...
after all we are in T.I.Tland!

It is being legalized now all over the world, why travel thousands of miles to smoke a joint?
But, I guess as an addition reason to come here it will bring younger people with little money who also want to get stoned. Maybe the modern version of a quality tourist.
sadly it is nót legal all over the worrld yet, you try to smoke a j...t in UK or even Germany...
and why you think only young people like to get "stoned" as you say? I prefer the word "high"...
I know many older people who also enjoy recreational use, younger IT-people as well, CEO's as well... it's for everyone, not only poor young students... ????

sorry, marihuana is not a drug, it's a herb!
yaba, heroine, cocaine and all other chemical <deleted> are drugs! even regular drugs can be bought in a 'drugstore'! the word says it already!
so no drug but a herb.
personally I have nothing against alcohol, but you have to admit that most trouble happens after dark and mostly under the influence of alcohol.
look at the traffic stats and you know that alcohol is the culprit...
of course not moderate use, but that is the thing, after a couple drinks you loose count and before you know it it's to much. then still drive a car/motorbike and trouble marches in!
look at this Aseannow-news-site: traffic-accidents, domestic fights, streetbrawls etc 80% is alcohol caused...
these are facts, not just my opinion!
all the above mess won't happen when smoking pot!
the government just have to get used to it a bit more. this is relatively new for politicians... not for people living in rural areas: across where we live is an older lady growing a few ganja plants in her backyard for making hot tea: it helps her relax before sleeping! she does this for years already! what harm can this be? or you think that lady is also a 'pothead'?
wake up people, same as in many other countries they should accept the new normal and it includes pot as well! ????
someone else mentioned already that there is lots of money to be made on taxes. look what happened in Canada, several states of USA, Urugay, Portugal, and elsewhere, do you think they all do it wrong?
what has to be done is that Tland should invite some specialists over to help with developing this megabizz. thàt would put tourism in second place within a couple years!
just check what changes it made for Colorado-USA for instance!

Using it since years. Multiple times scanned the phone with antivirus SW (on demand) and nothing found.
Just did a scan with the built in security scan and nothing found (Samsung phone, Android 8.x).
Former scan were with Avira.
exactly same here, many years with this app, many virus-checks, never any problem! also Samsung Android!

What a waste of money, if they planned the overpass before building, then they could've moved it to a different location.
in this lower level work they have no idea about planning, only big building-companies do!
planning is farang-style! ????

the only strain they could claim for heritage is "ThaiStick" which used to be famous in the '70-s and '80-s! the other strains definitely come from other areas or countries.
mind you, it is still not legal to grow or consume which way ever, you need to have permission from 'health officials'! therefor can not be claimed unless made available for everyone without any restrictions!
for instance Mexico could claim the AcapulcoGold strain, Hawaii could claim the MauiWowie strain etc etc so Tland ThaiStick

When my car and bike go in for tax , insurance and testing they shove a pipe up my flue to check exhaust emissions , so I would say that vehicles chucking out smoke have not been tested or the owner knows a fail is on the way so drives around without a care in the world. Come on BiB check for smoke then check for all the other stuff. Oh and not just Changers , everywhere.
I was thinking the same: how come some cars have smoke? the yearly check should prevent this...
so either they don't check properly or they dodge the check completely!
yesterday only I saw several cars with way to much smoke!
a lot of work to be done!

"the tip reportedly came from a resident concerned about the spread of Covid-19, police stated."

Not bluffing, got a lawyer as a friend and one in the family. Never needed them as i got my paperwork in order.
I am the same, every year of the 25+ years that I'm living here I have done my visa application myself. in the beginning some mistakes, later on easy-piecy!
in the past I changed from retirement-visa to married and since several years already changed into child-dependent-visa: always did paperwork myself and kept deposit in the bank!
immigration doesn't like that people do this themselves, they prefer agents as always there will be a cut for them as well...
I heard it before that I know too much, know the runnings, meaning they can't make money out of me...
ps: I also have a lawyer-friend, a real shark! used him for other occasions ????

Have they not calculated the time required between first and second doses, PLUS the time after the second dose in order to claim that each kid is 'fully vaccinated.'? If someone wants to come to Thailand, they need to have had their second jab at least 14 days prior to arrival, but they let the kids go back to school soon after their first jab.
Don't get me wrong, I'm well happy the kids can return to school, but why the inconsistency?
because they àre not consistent! TIT ????

If it's 'local tourism' then it's hardly revenue, is it? The money's just moving around, without the international tourist dollar coming in!
add also the governmental support all this time for this socalled local tourism...
I'm curious how the status of the people of Tland will be after they stop all subsidies! those will be then real figures, now many hotels/restaurants are partner in this subsidized 'economy'...
