  1. Your posts show clearly that you know very little about modern nuclear power generation, and modern nuclear power plants. Perhaps you should educate yourself rather than blindly quote green propaganda. As usual, the costs for wind and solar do not include the manufacturing and disposal of individual components. And the lifetime of wind and solar components are much less than those of nuclear power plants. And, of course, there is this thing when the sun don't shine and the wind don't blow. Where will you get your power from then? Or are you just hoping that Musk will come up with a new super battery... Unfortunately nuclear got a bad name because operational failures in case of TMI, and design flaws in case of Chernobyl, and Fukushima. All the green zealots just jumped on that like flies on <deleted>. TMI was over 40 years ago, but they just can't let go.
  2. So tried this abomination, and it's marginally better than ELIZA from 50 nears ago. The marginality comes from the fact that this thing can access the internet, is all. Just another dumb <deleted> computer program.
  3. That was a few years back, as you say. The best one I could find now is this http://i.nvade.it/cg5. Just like the MoBo manufacturers generally don't include more than 4 SATA ports, the case manufacturers don't include more than 2-4 3.5" HDD slots, sometimes shared with 2.5" SSDs.
  4. I think you mean Patman. All my rigs all sit in Lian-Li cases, apart from HTPC.
  5. While I have to admit that you PC rigs are very esthetic and artsy, it's not my kind of auto-strata. I prefer closed cases to keep the ants and dust out, and tucked away out of sight. Maybe 40+ years on a raised floor among the mostly blue colored anonymous boxes reflects on my preferences. I don't buy anything pre-built either.
  6. There is definitely one in his rig. Just below the PSU.
  7. Haven't seen a NUC with an i9 processor. Haven't seen any with more than 2 memory slots. M.2 don't have the capacity I require, and if you now talking external caddy for the spinners and SSD's, what's the point of a NUC, Might as well build a proper tower. And what about the graphics card? Does that go into a caddy as well?
  8. If you look around, you'll find that most socket 1700 MoBo's have only 4 SATA ports. You'll have to go above mid range or go specialist boards to get 6 SATA or more. Comes with a price. The manufacturers seem to include 3-4 M.2 slots instead. The OP PSU is a Corsair MT850W. Corsair is a well known quality manufacturer. I use many components from them. 850 watt is sufficient to drive a fair size rig.
  9. All the NUCs I've seen come with low end processors and low memory. No expansion capabilities. And do pray tell how I would fit 4 spinners, 2 SSD and an RTX4070Ti inside the case.
  10. When I changed to retirement last year, the immigration wanted a copy of our marriage paper. They said: "Only this time, because I was changing". My wife was with me, but they didn't ask her anything, and she didn't sign anything. I did include the Tabien Baan of our house and copy of her ID. It took all of 15 minutes from submitting the documents, and getting the passport back with the extension stamp. That was in Hua Hin. Link to my post about changing from marriage to retirement.
  11. The OP doesn't tell us the full specs of his current rig, but seems to be happy with MoBo, CPU and memory upgrade. He does not mention the size of his spinners, but seems to be happy as they are. Perhaps the have been upgraded over the years. Looking at the pictures, I find the layout quite strange. There is, what appear to be a DVD drive at the bottom of the case, and the graphics card is in a slot furthers away from the CPU. Normally, the graphic card occupies the first slot closet to the CPU, as this is the fastest. There is also a small card next to the graphics. Might be an external SATA, as the OP wanted that. If the Op still follows this thread, perhaps he could clarify. As the upgrade path, I would suggest an M sized MoBo. It's smaller than the standard ATX, and will make the case more roomy. The only disadvantage for the M size is that generally there are only 4 SATA ports, so additional SATA card might be needed. For the CPU, an Intel i5, even Gen12 processor, would probably do nicely. As the OP is not a gamer, he might not need a dedicated graphics card, and could probably use the built in graphics on the CPU chip. Of course, NVMe for the boot drive will make this rig fly. The PSU is large enough, and from a reputable manufacturer, and IMO don't need replacement. I estimate the suggested upgrades would be around 16,000+ baht, and Jib could do an upgrade in 1 hour. Personally, I would stay away from Lazada, Aliexpress and NUCs. The pic is from my latest upgrade to my HTPC. It's what an M sized MoBo can do for a case.
  12. I wonder what chipset that might be.... BX something? And I'm about to splurge 19,000 baht on a MoBo for my new rig.
  13. So now the contenders are: Honda Jizz and Suki Celery.... wow! ????????
  14. I wonder what it does on a quarter mile.....
  15. I have been using Samitivej for my cardio. Have only good things to say about the doctors, treatment and also prices. Heart MRI there was 24,000 baht. They said they had a special that week, go figure. Also, my cardiologist arranged consultations with visiting professors from the Ramatibodi university hospital, free of charge. When it was time to pay, the clinic nurse just gave me a slip and asked me to go to cashier. Normally you would get escorted when the bill is more than 4 digits, my experience from that Soi 1 hospital.
  16. Well, if you don't have 800,000 baht or equivalent in your name when you retire, then perhaps you should stay in your home country. Considering that once you move, you'll lose all medical benefits and much more, but still expect to pay taxes on your pension.
  17. TBH I have not read all the replies in this thread, but for me, I was so intimidated by IO every time I extended my family visa, that I said ENOUGH! Last extension, i switched to retirement. Opened Fixed Account with 1 million deposit. Got a letter from the bank Printed out statement on the day of application One form filled in Hand drawn map to my place 15 minutes after application got my extension. Advantages: No bringing my wife No pictures of us in the bedroom No pictures around the house and property No bringing a Thai guarantor Cannot be easier than that.
  18. C'mon guys, just let the girl have her 5 minutes of fame....
  19. I was aware of that. I have NordVPN subscription for all my devices.
  20. Unfortunately you can't select a server by country. Mine is a free version and has VPN, but selectable by region only..
  21. Install Opera browser... comes with it.
  22. It came from the local newspaper that can't be mentioned, quoted or linked on this forum. If you go there, I'm sure you'll find it.
  23. Slightly off topic, but just recently read an article about Bali locals being very fed up with the hordes of visiting (and staying) Russians and Ukrainians. To the point that they wanted to stop issuing visa on arrival for those nationalities. They described their behavior as barbaric and uncivilized. The article said that the numbers of Russians and Ukrainians coming to the island was three times that of Australians, previously being most numerous.
  24. Well the Harley guy definitely can ride, and the rice burner really had a hard time keeping up. And that was only a Sportster..... imagine a real Big Twin.... Just shows you, it's not always the bike, but the riding skills that win.
  25. You never know, might be 2nd generation native... Something like 20% of Swedish citizens don't have a "Swedish" name, whatever that might be. Gudrun Nilsson? Frida Mjälkenborg?
